What about this joke: MISSIONARY: Look at you! You’re just wasting your life away, lying around like that. SAMOAN: Why? What do you think I should be doing? MISSIONARY: Well, there are plenty of coconuts all around here. Why not dry some copra and sell it? SAMOAN: And why would I want to do that? MISSIONARY: You could make a lot of money. And with the money you make, you could get a drying machine, and dry copra faster, and make even more money. SAMOAN: Okay. And why would I want to do that? MISSIONARY: Well, you’d be rich. You could buy land, plant more trees, expand operations. At that point, you wouldn’t even have to do the physical work anymore, you could just hire a bunch of other people to do it for you. SAMOAN: Okay. And why would I want to do that? MISSIONARY: Well, eventually, with all that copra, land, machines, employees, with all that money-you could retire a very rich man. And then you wouldn’t have to do anything. You could just lie on the beach all day.
We need to take example from the countless peoples we've sent our forces to attack, invade, and terrorize overseas. Shit, just take example from the founding of our own sinful nation; redcoats in lines versus random farmers ducking between cover, it goes the same every time. Empire never learns, but people can learn.
@@mr.purple4203, your idea is an important one. I went to "visit" my incarcerated friend recently and the video conferencing technology we were forced to use had military stencil font. It all comes home. You might like the philosopher Kenneth Burke; he wrote about the potential for military/industrial contamination with his Purification of War in the run-up to WWII. Cheers.
@@RoyalFusilier now though we get fun technology like tanerite and thermal imaging to go to war with. Can't wait for the killdozers battles and the ied infested highways
Polling says a majority of Americans support: - The burning of the Minneapolis police precinct. - The use of the military to support the police. This is more than the standard "people are full of contradictions and incoherent ideas amd emotions." There's an opportunity in here somewhere, if only I knew what, how and why... Comment section please help.
You should read about 'computational irreducibility'. ELI15 from my limited understanding: In some physical models of the universe, the more energy you put into knowing one reference frame, the more reality resists by revealing more complexity. Related to this, and more commonly known, is the principle that measurement always changes what is being measured; the more intrusive or completely you measure something, the more that system will depart from what would have happened if you left it alone. Observation means something. What you said is a perfectly analogous situation at 54:13
37:00 in my small white town, cars headed to the east side of town are pulled over at an extremely higher rate. They try to search out cars. If your car isn’t nice or new you’re likely to get stopped and harassed.
@K H Dont forget that even as imperfect the US constitution is , it does have alot more checks and balances than Germany did. The resistance to Trump is far greater . We cant let ourselves be overcome with despair , especially while the battle is being fought .
I hope the protestors dont burn down any billionaire houses. Keep focusing on destroying the aspirations of the "middle" class poor. Praying for peace in Palm Beach.
I happened to get on Twitch just as he started this one, I don't have alerts or anything was looking to see if there was an ep the day before. Thought it was a glitch seeing Chapo Trap House 0 in the left corner lol.
Just Me That’s very cool, by the way, not knowing what Twitch is. It’s a place where people play video games and where white people get cancelled for saying the n word when they get mad.
Why do people seem to keep asking about historical parallels? It seems like people are looking for security in the false equivalency of thinking this moment is like some past moment so the outcome will be similar.
Wouldn't private police be the exact thing that could fuel worker movement? At the end of the day that would be just the normal police, but without masks of "serving the public". Not to mention it wouldn't automatically gain such jurisdiction cops have. Amazon primepolice couldn't just drive into the neighbourhood next to their customers and stop and frisk people just in case.
The reason state and local police were created was in part to lend greater legitimacy to police, particularly when it came to strike-breaking. Philadelphia was I think the pioneer of that strategy.
So...let me get this straight...you go outside your house somewhere and see actual people...like, other hoo-mahnz (is that the correct term?) and then you, like...uhm...interact somehow...in real time? and exchange information "in the round " (so to speak) and then...er...something, right? hmmm...O.K.! here goes nothing
Carlos But they mean is there somewhere to listen to this that’s not RU-vid, SoundCloud for example. If you’re listening on mobile you can’t listen unless you have the video open
Back in the day we used to string tin cans up to wire between our tree houses and whisper “Japanese woman with big jiggly boobs” and that was what we called porn back then. Then we’d go back to our jimmy eat worlds and cky2s
☼ reorganizing the force is an argument. ppl who say _abolish the police_ , and then describe any aspect of a police officer's role and say _'we'll just hire some ppl to do that'_ sound like dim dopey gosh darn fools. why do the ticket writer have a side arm? thats an argument.
I remember Chris Hedges saying the left has lost their language. The internet has brought that back for a person like me. As a simple leftist dirt farmer I can now articulate my point and not relinquish to talking points heard everyday from right wing talking heads.
22:00 I don't follow when he says someone like me would complain if they didn't come to my neighborhood outside the city. I assume he means the protesters coming, and that would be exactly what I want, to not have any interference in my life, so I would be happy if they didn't come. And why would they shout at or threaten protesters with a gun in hand? That's when I'm at my most stoic. Matt paints everyone with a gun as playing dress-up, and while there are many people like that, some of us do take our Jeeps off road, and have seen the blood gush. We just saying if they come on property, especially a mob with weapons, we buckin. Trust. I think this question of the city and country is interesting when it comes to class (i just found out about raymond williams)
I think his implication is; the people who want to actually keep to themselves don't post on facebook like 'if they come for me I'll be ready to stack the bodies' and all that macho crap. So they're likely the dress-up types who don't have the will to do anything, but love to bluster.
Christman is the only Chapo member I can listen to. I actually enjoy listening to him. I was a HRC supporter but I still support their patreon. Matt, however, is the most rational. I hate the whiny pitched Menaker. He’s a Ron Paul boy
I’m a little new here but feeling like this is complaining about problems without solutions. Why is that bad? It makes people disheartened and want to check out everything is terrible and can’t be fixed? I was happier with my head in the sand.
Mr. Christmas-vocal supporter of the lumpenproletariat and bourgeois Democratic institutions-bowed before a group of BLM rioters at the protest he attended. They proceeded to beat him and clap his prominent whooty cheeks.
