How wonderful to watch a boxing match without the commentary. No distracting drivel and opinion. Just the fight. Commentary for radio. Silence for ‘TV’.
@@dustylover100 yes, and the jaw was broken early in the fight, a quarter of an inch break- yet Ali still fought the rest of the fight with that injury. Kinda tough. 👍
Wow I agree a great fight over all. Blin was an aggressive opponent. He was freakishly strong and attacked like a Viking! He tagged Ali many times but I have to give it to Ali for his courage he never backed away from those onslaughts and showed courage. It must have been the confidence Ali possessed in his own abilities. Ultimately he just outboxed his opponent Jared Blin.
Excuse me? He was leaning way back on the ropes a few times avoid punches. There is nothing wrong with backing away as an opponent expends energy and then returning to a working formula.
All the other guy had wAs he e as wild hebloiked like a drug addick motorcycle scumbag he never should of bin in thete in the first place give him money so HR could blow it IP idiots where are they now no whete
I think you summarized it well. Blin had to lunge in to hit, so he lunged and lunged to get his hits in, but Ali is hard to hit, so Blin isn't getting much result from huge effort. Ali just had to be patient, block Blin's attacks as best he can, and box.
Yes! The Jab & Front Foot Adjustment, is the Trick to Transfer Power into the Over Hand Right Punch or Right Cross, it's Amazing the difference such a Small Adjustment can make!!👍
Yes he seems Off Balance when he throws his right hand, his Footwork is lacking, but never the less he is a Champion for getting in the Ring with the Greatest!! Who am I to Judge!
That knockout was a thing of beauty. Blin's out on his feet and doesn't even know it. He tries to take a step back, and his legs give out. He had taken several hard shots in the 30-45 seconds prior to that, and was already a little wobbly. That last shot just connected perfectly, and Blin was done.
A tough and clinical win by Ali against an explosive and dangerous opponent. In the final round Ali landed lightening fast left hooks and was setting up the right cross which eventually ended the bout.
Ali looks off fighting some ham and egg er but you can never tell when he's acting that s why he's out smartef so many helping to make him the greatest showman and heavy weight boxer of all time, has Tyson ever out smarted anyone
Mohamed Ali was not only a great boxer but a great man also , this is a perfect demonstration of his technic , float like a butterfly sting like a bee. Many boxers have said about him , I knew that he was a great boxer but when you are in the ring against him , then you really realize that he was the greatest .
Clay was a bum. the only thing he had going for him was the uncanny ability to take a punch. Most of his opponents were no talent losers. Jack Dempsey would have beaten the piss out of him. So would James J Jeffries. Joe Louis would have killed the bastard.
@@scottsimmons5350 you talking about the man while you dont know his name. We all can see that you're a hater. Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all boxers. If you dont have respect, then don't watch his movie you idiot
Thanks for sharing.... This is one of the very few Muhammad Ali fights I hadn't seen before 👍 Good performance by Ali Vs a difficult and awkward opponent 👏

blin was smaller..but fight incredible good..he had very hard life as he was child..dnd he fight hard..so its impressive to see him against Ali like this...
My uncle from Hamburg who had been on the olympics in Mexico had trained with his friend and box camerade Jürgen Blin for the fight against the Great Muhammad Ali. They trained hard and smart but failed against Alis jabs and Cross and his footwork. But Jürgen was outstanding to keep fighting so hard the whole fight. R.I.P. Muhammad Ali and R.I.P. Jürgen Blin!

I almost feel sorry for Jurgen here. Every time he tried to put together any sort of attack, he was caught time and time again by the piston like left jab of Ali's. Blin really gave it his best shot. It must have been so demoralizing and frustrating for him. Respect to Blin for his courage and durability .
@@cooldaddy2877 Don't waste your time. Johnson, Dempsey, The Brown Bomber, Marciano, Tyson and several others... all great champs that would have given Ali all kinds of trouble. But Ali was the only heavyweight who always claimed to be the greatest, so now the sheep repeat it. Ali was good. Very talented. Great chin. But I saw dozen fighters push him to the limit. He never could deal with Frazier and I wonder how he could have handled being pressed like Marciano, who was basically Frazier X2. Ali survived Foreman. And that's why his legend grows.I'm
Wow Blin just didn't know when to quit! Ali fought EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE. Don't think there's been such a well travelled champ since, truly a world figure. RIP GOAT 👊
@@herbb8412 Yes Larry did, he ducked no-one and was a worthy underrated champion, but the sheer world scale of Ali can't be matched, he reached out and fought in so many countries.
the dancing around is about Ali being hurt in the previous exchange. He looks in command but is avoiding contact... running away for extended periods. It is smart, but not a sign of winning in itself. He gets so much credit for "dancing",
Most casual fans don't realize the range of small movements Ali used to keep opponents off-balance, second guessing whether to punch, where to punch; his shots came with so little set-up, on the beat, off the beat, that otherwise excellent fighters all said he was nearly impossible to figure out - and most of this was after the unjust three year separation from the sport which cost him his reflexes. People will often say he had no punching power, or that it looks like he's slapping. But Ali frequently did something which gave his punches the ability to separate opponents form their senses and/or motor control - the sudden twist at the end of a seemingly innocuous cross or hook. Watch one of the highlight reels of his KO's. Otherwise durable fighters tended to freeze in place, collapse where they stood, as if electrocuted. It is a different kind of force than we're used to from a big, powerful fighter. Imagine a small stone, traveling twice as fast as a large one, but spinning when it hits its target. Compare that to being clubbed with a big rock, or an actual club. Neither is pleasant. But if you've been in the ring, hit by a muscled powerful but slower dude, and also by a speed demon with great accuracy and the ability to land when you don't have time to react, you'll know just how different the effect is. The men he made look incompetent were among the best heavyweights in history. Every meaningful heavyweight of his generation were in the ring with him, and he beat all, except Holmes....and Holmes fought Ali when Ali was symptomatic with Parkinsons and heavily medicated. Only a few spotted his few weaknesses; Ali made sure to rematch his TOUGHEST opponents, and beat ALL of them in rematches. Want an education in Ali, and the intricacies of the sport? It's really sad how bad our younger vets from Afghanistan/iraq wars have been treated with their mental health. I've seen so many with drug addictions since being discharged from service. Here in mass they opened a substance abuse facility that focuses on former military and first responders. I can't think of the name but it was a great day when they opened recently.
Coward? l don't think so. It's the other way around. Ali fought face to face in a greater war than Vietnam🇻🇳, which was the US government n won. Though Ali passed away some years ago, people in America n around the 🌎 still praise the g.o.a.t to this day, it will continue on in the future n forever will be. Amen!
Ali's best asset was his left jab..yes.. but his footwork was remarkable for a guy of his size .Agile and well coached in ring craft. He would assess his opponent's strategy and arsenal by moving to his left, always moving..and jabbing with his left to keep his opponent away and he quickly figured that his opponent only ducked one way and so chopped him repeatedly with a downward right
Let's also say, to my humble opinion, that this german guy wasn't an easy client for Alì.... he's fast and Alì's defense could have suffered this type of fighter... anyway, it's such a great pleasure to watch this fight...
As a 16 year old watching this bout I didn’t appreciate what a good and brave competitor Juergen Blin was. He was well conditioned gave his all, that’s as much as a man can do, hats off to Jurgen albeit 50 years late.
I have seen an interview with Juergen Blin lately where he said he had not really a chance but the only direction was forward. Blin: "If I had done nothing he would have knocked me out in round one."
Blin was very quick and aggressive, almost like a middleweight. But He had no way around Ali’s jab. Ali’s ring movement was exceptional and he was very patient and methodical the way he wore him down.
Blin has no stamina. His lung gave out on him. Muhammad Ali's conditioning is superb. Ali's secret is stamina and endurance and ring smarts. Ali has been in the boxing business since he was twelve years old.
Ali the most famous boxer in the world . No internet, tweeter and Facebook in the 60s and the 70s . According to the international press the name Muhammad Ali was known in the most remote areas of the world.
@@nickfanzo Thermonuclear MORONS! Ali's genius talent was beyond question by 1964. Sonny Liston was a terrifying destroyer, and Ali's fearlessness and movement in the ring made Liston look foolish. Good lord.
Ali the GOAT. A real gentleman. He would have knocked Blin cold in the earlier rounds when Blin missed and got himself exposed. Ali did not use that opportunity. A real gentleman. RIP champ.
@@GuyFromTheSouth True and I Imagine pro boxers also understand that it is i a lot of peoples' interests to have fights of several rounds.( which is a bit like saying he or both took it easy or paced themselves for a few rounds except there is nothing easy about earning a living this way)
@@ianrutherford878 yeah that happened to Mike Tyson. A lot of ppl quit buying his fights because it was one short highlight reel they'd see on TV later.
Ali was lord of the rings. Kept using his left jab all night. Blocking blin attacks till blin got tired. The ali landed one right hand and that did it. RIP king of all kings.
Blin was fearless, but like a bull in a china closet. Sooner or later he was either gonna run into Ali's punch or knock himself out. Maybe he did both. Anyway, good fight by Blin, but also great patience by Ali. For him, this was just a journey fight on the long way back to reclaiming the title.
It was too physically taxing to box with Ali. He was bigger and had a longer reach than most of the heavyweights and his agility permitted him to throw the jab from every angle, which gave him a reach advantage even against men his size. And then he had the stamina. The big guys couldnt chase him around for long and the smaller guys, that could chase him, had to eat several jabs to the face to maybe land a single punch on him and be in a constant head movement motion that ate up precious energy. Meanwhile, he was just throwing the flicking jab moving backwards, winning rounds, conserving energy. If he saw his man in trouble he'd move in for the kill, if the man fought back, Ali would again move to safety zone. If someone caught him with a good punch, Ali would hug him and push him back. Other than Frazier, Marciano and very early Tyson I cant imagine of any other fighters in the history of heavyweight division that had the combination of characteristics to take Ali into deep and uncertain waters. You needed superhuman stamina, ability to take punishment, and very high workrate to alternate crippling his midsection with bombs in the head. Then of course you could have the odd ones like Norton, against whom I doubt Ali ever won a round convincingly. Norton had superb stamina, very long hands and developped a specific defense to mess up with Ali's jab, which in turn messed up his whole rythm.
All "outside" fighting boxers are head hunters. Especially big heavyweights fighting smaller guys. I dont remember Lewis or Klitchko ever going to the body either. Pop with the left jab, pop, pop and if there is an opening, big right to the head.
Its always a pleasure to watch an Ali fight, but just as pleasant is no commentary. Its bliss not having to listen to pundits constantly rabbit over the action and your get to hear the crowd instead
Jurgen Blin came to fight. Aggressive and determined, launching himself into his punches, sadly he seemed just a little too slight against Ali and had the determination knocked out of him by the master, those two last punches rocked me in my chair in 2022
delivered with bad intent no doubt. I think Ali pulled a few punches early in the fight when he ended up behind Jürgen. Jurgen should have thanked Ali for not beating him with foot work alone.
Blin had one of the best fights against Ali ever recorded. His strategy of using combinations continuously off the opponent’s jab caused caused this to be a challenging fight for Ali.
That jab was vicious and almost like a machine gun. Blin simply stopped trying to dodge or slip it. I give credit Blin, lot of heart there, he did not just give up. He fought till the end.
This one of Ali's best. Blin was no match for Ali's speed and his ability to duck opponents punches as he made Blin look silly. Blin swung at the air too many times to count. Blin was frustrated and angrily lunged at Ali several times off balance and into the ropes. When Blin swung wildly charging into Ali, he just covered up and those round house swings just landed on Ali's arms or Ali just danced away. Finally, Blin just walked into a right hand after taking a bloody beating from Ali's left the entire fight. You could see Blin had no defense, no answer and complete confusion as Ali hit him continuously with the left and ended it with the right to the jaw that spun Blin's head and knocked him out. Ali is still an inspiration to watch for all time!
In his prime, and I'm talking up till he was banished from boxing for refusing to go into the military, there was none better. No heavyweight fighter of any era, including today, could not have beat him. The best fighter pound for pound I have ever seen was Sugar Ray Leonard. Talk about having some heart.
Dude took a hell of a beating! Like 3 minutes in all you hear is Ali's jabs making contact! Close your eyes and you know who winning because all you hear is his cloves making contact! Ali was also a good sport knowing when his opponent is hurt and looking for the ref to stop it! I think Forman said it best saying the best punch Ali had was the one he didn't throw at him as he was going to the canvas!
That great humility of Ali when Blin was in trouble on the ropes, with his arms down and Ali pulled his punches when he had every right to batter Blin.
I've just watched that ending three times and byron elenica is right: Ali could have gone in to finish him off but he pulls his punches and then the ref steps in. Ali always treated his vanquished with respect. Just watch the end of his defeat of Zora Folley in '67, I think Ali's last fight before his imprisonment. Ali is the greatest of all time.
@David Mc Nice joke - Blin / Blind. I appreciate your feedback but - I don't know, I think it's debatable - I don't think that Ali was going in to "destroy" (your word) Blin. After the two jabs then the right that knocks Blin back on to the ropes, Ali hesitates slightly, he know's that Blin is finished. He respects a courageous opponent. Compare with the Ali v Brian London fight. Now that's going in to destroy an opponent!
This quick straight right hand is what he used against Liston(2) and Foreman as well as others. It doesn’t seem that awesome a punch, but when delivered perfectly it was devastating.
Ali at half-speed, hoping to make a sparring session into a pay day. Still worth paying for: to watch the classic moves and combos in detail. And a credit to Jurgen Blin to force Ali to work for the win, doing his best Jack Dempsey imitation before the reality came knocking. I cringe a little and how much he took at the end. P.S. There is a bittersweet NY Times obit about Blin, who died this year (2022) at 79. This bout seems to have been the pride of his life.
Ya, I didn't think it was the worst fight. Blin had some good combos in the the first two rounds that didn't connect but looked gassed after that. Ali was just playin with him after that.
Bullshit. Ali was good but overrated. Could you imagine him fighting Tyson in his prime. Really watch his fights. He lost to Jimmy Young but was gifted a decision. . The GOAT getting beat by Peon Spinks. One lucky and dumb fight by Foreman gave this man his legacy.
I have watched most of his fights. Didn’t he fight Henry Cooper in the 60’s? I mean he was not only saved by the bell , Dundee had to cheat to stall for time. Again I never said Ali wasn’t a solid champ but to me he’s not the GOAT. Ali vs Liston 2??? I’m really not into conspiracy theories but ole Sonny took a dive. Not sure if he was paid to or threatened but he did. I mean look at all the shots Frazier took and never went down. Ali in his prime was a top ten but I just won’t call him the goat
@@doughoster7986 Man, Tyson got KO in his prime at 23 by a bum, whatever you say Muhammad Ali was never KO and fought the best. Sonny Liston or George Foreman would walk trough Tyson in two rounds.
Blin started out and was quite the aggressor in the first three rounds. Then I noticed Ali found the measure and shortened the distance between the two for the remainder. But like all those at the time who managed to nail Ali, over the course of the fight, they were made to pay for it.
Kudos for trying. Also knows that with a height and reach disadvantage you have to get inside to have any effect or any chance. I'm amazed at how many shorter guys try to fight on the outside these days. Crazy.
