Thanks for the video! Very informative. I'm going to be using a peel and stick system over an older vinyl roof, back porch, approx 230 square feet. Any suggestions??
I have a flat carport about 18' x 19'...after i replace the sheating, I want to do a 2 layer stick on...Underlayment + Cap...there are SO many choices out there....can you recommend a simple one that is highly rated? Ideally grayish cap sheet. ( I might use the ZIP panels..not sure if i still need 2 layers) (That's a nasty corner..wood needs replacing and or epoxying)
Do you have to put a base sheet down? I live in Las Vegas NV and we don't get snow or alot of rain less than 3 inches per year. Do you think I Wii be fine without the base sheet?
Do you mean actual paint primer? Or the spray on adhesive that preps the drip edge? I’ve never had a problem with applying the cap sheet directly to the drip edge.
@@MyDIYAdventures I'm pretty sure he means priming the drip edge with a spray on primer. I've been researching vids about rolled roofing manufacturers and their products and how they differ. I havent found anything about rolled roofing that uses the asphalt primer on the drip edge except a torch down rolled roof where you use a weed burner and propane.
The primer does help it stick better it will help later down the line when the roof gets older when these roofs fail they always fail at the drip first good luck
Looks nice but kinda shady workmanship leaving wet rotted wood, no primer used on the drip edge, could have done a gold at the corner with drip edge best of luck to longevity.
