The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) organized a Multilingual Women Mushaira in collaboration with Khwaindo Adabi Lakhkar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The aim of the Mushaira was to create public space for women literary works and to support and promote poetesses and women writers of different languages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Mushaira was organized in regional office of the academy of letters, Hayat Abad on 20th of September 2022 where poetesses of different languages from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and New Merged districts narrated their poetries. In his welcome note the General Manager Culture and Tourism of KPCTA told that this Mushaira is a kick starter to more of such kinds in other divisions especially the Newly Merged Districts of KP. He further told in his welcome note that KPCTA has always prioritized the inclusion of girls and women in the Culture, Tourism and Creative Sector to boost up their role and increase their presence for a better future. Known literary figures including Rahmat Shah Sayil, Dr. Salma Shaheen, Dr. Yar Muhammad Maghmom, Sheikh Shaukat Hayat, Abaseen Yousafzai, Haseena Gul Tanha and Kalsoom Zaib also talked on women’s role in the promotion of languages and literatures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speakers praised steps of KPCTA taken for the promotion of languages and literature in KP. Talking to the Mushaira Ex-Director Pashto Academy Dr. Salma Shaheen said that KPs women have a strong sense of expressionism in their work and have always proved this on all local, national, and international platforms. Rahmat Shah Sayil further said that the more any women play a role in the Arts and Culture, a better generation and a stronger nation will appear for tomorrow.
