Building and restoring horse drawn vehicles will take your woodworking to the next level. These seat corners involve angles of 10, 20, and 22 degrees in one piece to make them fit. Compound angles and curves are the norm, not the exception. Thanks for following along!

Your goal of making a record of the wagon making trade is noble. It both preserves a nearly lost craft and shows a hybrid craft of metal and wood joined with skill and labor. This is more than the curiosity of how things used to be done; it points to a possible future using wood, possibly the most sustainable thing on the planet, simple iron, and skill. The labor to do such is the most abundant thing we have. What you show is both low technology, and a possible coming high technology. I admire your work.

Amen to all the other GREAT comments!🤩Always followed the philosophy, "Learn something new every day." EVERY time I watch your vids, I learn a LOT. Your craftsman skills are on a whole 'nuther level.😲Your entire series of vids should be preserved in some kind of national Smithsonian museum collection (or something like that).🤔Of course your magnificent collection of tools helps, especially that cool table saw, but those seats are way beyond AWESOME.🤗 THANK YOU SINCERELY for continuing to share your incredible skills. 🤠

😅 tried to do a compound angle dovetail joined bench leg the other day, having no experience with dovetails whatsoever, and only made 4 pieces of firewood before I decided ‘advanced complex joinery’ was maybe a bad place to start.

Dave, you should give master classes about how to rebuild wagons. The angle work you did to put the seats back together was amazing. I enjoy watching your videos whether in the shop or outside. Keep up the good work. Stay safe.

In today's Masterclass, Professor Engle schools we mere mortals in how a master craftsman can make even the most complicated tasks appear fairly simple. He also shows us that you don't need a bigger hammer, you just need a few more clamps. 🙃 As always Dave: a sincere thank you for allowing us along on this wonderful journey.

The owner should download your videos and keep them as a history of it being (re)built on a DVD they can have to pass along to the next generation. It is comforting to see someone pay attention to detail and have pride in their work. That smile at the end was a show of pride but not in an ostentatious way.

Thank you Dave. i have made my living by woodworking and a little carpentry for most of the last 50 years, but I never really got a handle on how long it takes. If asked for an estimate, I will grossly underestimate the time, even when I know my propensity to do so. So, I have rarely been self-employed, but depend on those who are more business-minded to provide estimates while I try to keep the promises they have made to the customers. I tell every one I work for, "If you rush me, I'll make more mistakes and the job will take longer."

Compound angles can be a bear in anything. I used to frame houses. BIG houses! 10,000 SF houses. They weren't boxes either. Some pretty crazy roofs that would test your skills and tools. AND, you get to do it 30 feet off the ground in all weather. Now I cut angles vicariously through your show now, lol. But seriously, great to see the mud wagon coming along.
