I do have one correction, they didn't turn the coins to perk currency, you have so much perk currency because you got it for having more perks unlocked during beta. The coins turned into cosmetics that had different phases depending on how much coins you had, but still, unfortunately transfer and O agree woth most of the criticisms.

Ok, another correction, the coins just turned into dust. Yeah. Nothing. Zero. Just delivered to the garbage. The cosmetics is based in coins EARNED. Not spent or hold. Earned. So people like me who saved coins just got screwed by Player first games without a warning. And since then they keep silence about this. Wow how a cool company
It feel so weird coming to this new and everyone hating on it. Its fun and people calling it ruined is weird when its free to play, i can get a couple characters i want to play and lab it
I mean, I have hours on the Beta, and can say, the gameplay is a definite improvement. I hated when the game was fast as hell, and made it hard to land any hits. It genuinely infuriates me, people want the game to be faster.
At this point I’d even take like a PAID option to unlock all the characters locally and have offline mode, not to mention how this decision basically killed realistic tournament potential, like sure maybe there’ll be like big ones (which will have to either pay out their ass or figure out a partnership deal literally just to have the characters) but ur local library or whatever is NOT gonna have a fun multiversus tournament yk
The core gameplay is good. Everything else pretty much is mobile game garbage. I made the mistake of buying a founders pack, with the knowledge that I could use my character tokens however I like. Now that the game is fully launched, they won't let me do that anymore. I have to use them before any other currency. This is the first time I gave this kind of money to a F2P game, and because of being treated this way, on top of basically every F2P game having terrible fomo and monetization, it will probably be the last.
i will say it is particularly bad in this game, a lot of free to play games (fortnite and most other br games for example) will at least have this stuff be completely cosmetic even if its still designed to get you addicted and wasting money. but in multiversus now simply even getting a single character is prohibitively expensive/time consuming
I’m not gonna lie, i agree that almost every other part of multiversus other than the gameplay, graphics/aesthetics and netcode are worse. But as a more competitive player at least, i think that with the amount that these things improved i can confidently say i like this multiversus way better. It’s not like i would go back to old multiversus ever again because of the things that got taken away (it still sucks but the game was literally a spam and dodge fest, and now it’s a much more polished and civil game where you can punish dodge spam and not fly out of disadvantage for free.) With how the gameplay alone was back in the beta and where’s it’s come, it’s really hard for me to see calling the overall game worse. I might understand if a casual is saying that though because some ppl wouldn’t ever have an idea how to deal with spammers and would say the game is still ‘braindead’.
Look. I understand there are issues with the game event though the game is still fun. But I’ll say this. PFG clearly ain’t gonna let Multiversus rot to death. You can tell from all the feedback’s they actually do care about the game (Although they shouldn’t have switched the game engine). Warner Bros is just greedy like always but I’m sure PFG will find away around the greediness
They said they were fixing a lot of the issues people are complaining about for example. The crappy mobile feeling menus and the ability to play as characters u haven’t bought when playing local or in the lab. These isssues are due to the fact they had to port the game to unreal engine 5 and they pretty much had to redo a lot of what they already made due to the fact it wasn’t porting over correctly
Also the game is free to play… don’t play the game if u don’t like the monetization. Not trying to be rude or anything but u can’t really complain if the game is completely free. I love the game and don’t have any problem with the monetization. The games gotta make money some how right. I’m just glad I didn’t have to pay for the game and then pay some extra to have cosmetics and even with that if u grind enough cosmetics can be earned for free
Idk if anyone has heard of the context of champions, but tbh, if Warner brothers just made a multiverses version of that game, I would no life the hell out of it.
I played a lot during the alpha and the new movement and UI really feels like a downgrade it feels so slowww, and taking out not being able to see stats in the endgame sucks. But I enjoy the gameplay and theyve been making moves in the right direction
another important thing to note is that the new PvE mode "rifts" is literally pay to win with gems that can be bought with real money that power up your characters. higher difficulties aren't smarter AI a la Smash, in Multiversus higher difficulties just mean the enemies do more damage than you. pay up or grind your life away!
The rift mode is a whole nother thing I didn't touch on because it's kinda unrelated to the original state of the game in the beta but yeah it's a mess in general. To get agent smith early you need to beat TWENTY of them which is ridiculous
