MultiVersus - Official Road to Launch Developer Update

Join game director Tony Hyunh for an update on MultiVersus, including the reveal that the free-to-play platform fighter will be launching on May 28, 2024. MultiVersus will be available for PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) with full cross-play and cross-progression support. Hyunh also reveals MultiVersus has moved to Unreal Engine 5 and rebuilt from the ground up to support a new netcode. Hyunh also notes new characters and stages will be added, each character will get new attacks and combat mechanics, a new PvE mode is coming, and more details to follow in the future.

Nah. People like the idea of non-main characters getting the spotlight, too. Scoocy is a main character yes, but Shaggy and Velma are also widely iconic. Not only that, but Shaggy and Velma may have just both been in the game together because they were in a relationship before throughout the Scooby series. People do couple them together.

@@MrJapanUndergroundShaggy and Velma aren't really a thing anymore. Mystery incorporated tried to do something with them but they decided to just be friends at the end of the series. Since then there hasn't been anything shipping them.

Seems like an update that should have taken 2 months, not a full year. They accomplished very little. Zero interesting new content was developed. Not even a new stage that looks fun. There's nothing. This will be laughed at.

@@CoolhandLukeSkywalkr game development takes longer than you think, especially rebuilding a game in a new engine. Also, they literally say in the video that this is just a small preview and that they will be sharing way more in the upcoming weeks so it's too soon to judge.

Remember, the previous update of this game was a beta update. BETA. UPDATE. Not a full official release, that's why they have to shut down this game for few months hiatus, they we're in-development to make a full official release

Wait, if the game has been built from the ground up in a new engine, what will happen to the cosmetics people bought in the open beta? Do they carry over? Also, will achievements and trophies carry over, or will the full release have a new list, resulting in people having to re-earn them all over again?

cosmetics will carry over and you can still play the game right now(if you already had it downloaded), but it's just the offline version so achievements should still carry over too

If you notice, He says new characters and maps, while showing powerpuff girls map, and dexters laboratory map. Most likely they will be in the game, if they have a map.
