I agree with you there. I wish older people would stop tearing the next generations down with that kind of criticism. I have 3 kids and all I want for them when/if they choose to marry is that they are truly happy and that the bride feels like the most beautiful woman to ever walk this earth in her wedding dress, as well as their partner seeing them the same way. All you have to do to know when the dress is right for the bride is to watch their face when they come out as well as when they look in the mirror. When the bride radiates a happy glow that out shines the sun... that's the dress she belongs in.

Hello lovely people. In reference to brides weight: I am assessing several things...no temporal wasting, no bulging belly, no shortness of breath appears with position or activity. Her collar bones are not extremely chiseled, nor are her wrist/ ankles (en) large. Her color remains consistent through video clip. Yes to determine " true health" you need a series of tests. I am referring, in this instance, to her family's continuous comments and comparing her size to other women in family and culture. As women our support of each other, especially in these times, is crucial. Hoping your lives are enriched with love, compassion, health and joy.

I dunt think it's about culture but more to religious. They are muslims and the parents are religious. Thus wearing tight especially at the buttock area is a big no to the parents 🤭🤭. Unless they are non muslims. For them not too tight, no exposed esp at butt and cleavage area, no sexy.

@@sunflowerbaby1853 We are used to it. Some are truly abusive but some are just tactless but love their children and only Asians can understand this trait which Westerners see as alien to them. For example. Asian parents would provide for their children and pay for their education even until college or med school or law school. Asian parents don't want their grown kids to leave their house unless they are getting married so many Asian grown children are able to save money. This Asian culture is carried over to Western countries so you see a lot of successful Asian individuals in the US, for example. Asian children are also expected to take care of their parents (who should provide for them well when the kids were young) when the latter get old and this cycle continues to the next generation. This cultural trait is also alien to many Westerners because the Western culture is more open to home for the aged which many Asian cultures frown on. I am not saying it is perfect, just different. But since I am Asian, I also don't want to die in a home for the aged (if we have one in my country).

They probably don't even know how much it traumatizes you. Or they say we are just being honest or the world is a hard place. Or your too sensitive. My mom used to use harsh words until one day I told her those were going to be the last critical words she ever spoke out loud. If she ever spoke to me in that manner again she would forever lose me. I told her if she loved me she wouldn't verbally be negative to me. It's okay to critique or whatever, but its the manner in the way you say it. She knew I was serious. The next day she had a new attitude. I am American and come from Italian descent. I have been caring for my bed bound, Alzheimer's Mom all on my own for 7 years now with no help. None. I had to stop working because she cannot be left on her own. My life is on pause. She did not want to go into a nursing home. Who would. But I also don't think she would be happy knowing how this situation has stalled my life. I do it because I love her. Not all westerners put their parents in nursing homes.

It just like when people say Asians parents are dragon parents, it does not mean ALL. Sure, there will be children who are traumatized and I mentioned about abusive Asian parents (the ones who are truly harsh and not just tactless), but being tactless is something we are used to by now. That is why in many Asian cultures (which Westerners find shocking and rude), asking personal stuff even if the person is just an acquaintance or even a stranger is ordinary. Examples are questions about salaries, marital status, family issues etc. It may be hard to understand in Western culture because individualism is the norm in the US. And with the PC culture now, some behaviors have become unacceptable even though these behaviors are more nuanced. And even South Americans and Africans will say their culture is similar to Asians when it comes to parenting. That is why for us we find it weird when it is the norm to ask 18 year old children to move out of the house so they can be independent (individualism) because for us, many have extended families and moving out is more acceptable when one gets married (even though some do not move out, hence, the extended family phenomenon). Now, talking of abusive Asian parents, I am actually one of those who have suffered from this reality. And it is not about saying that I am fat but a lot more traumatizing like making me the maid from 11 years old onwards because I am the eldest daughter. And there is favoritism until now because my mom prefers her boys over her girls and yet now that my mom is 81 years old, her abused girls are the ones taking care of her and not her boys who both migrated to the US. My sister and I have forgiven our mother for her past treatment as well as her current treatment of us because she is actually mentally ill but I know what trauma truly means because my peers had/have better treatment from their Asian parents.
