After an extremely stressful weekend racing in Kentucky, coming home to a brand new TREMEC TKX 5 speed swap kit for my 55 Chevy was JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!
I doubt his dad would be all that much into that,my father raised me around race cars my entire life and when I got old enough to have my own he would tell me I had car on the brain and hated it as he thought I was going to get a lot of trouble allowing cars to encapsulate my entire life. He still enjoyed the occasional cruise but lost all interest in racing especially after they came down so hard on street racing and track racing just isn’t the same. It might be legal but no where near as fun and his dad could be different but I just doubt that an older guy like his self would really enjoy it.

Pop, it is an honor to see how much you, your brother, and your family include and keep an eye on your own Old Man. That is the same respect I was taught the Elderly deserve in any family. It is good to see everybody makes it a point to keep time available for him. He still loves buying and restoring those old tractors, he must have a collection by now. That would be a Bad Ass family video with you and him participating in one of those drag and drives.
Man, the entire family has loosened up to the camera. I remember when everyone was so quiet before when the camera came out, now everyone is comfortable. Almost like a natural feeling. Makes for excellent content. And Miss Vicki, she is absolutely THE BEST. I fell out laughing at the end when she threw her arms in the air and "woo-hoo'd" about you leaving to go testing for a couple days. Kudos to everyone who put in the effort to bring a dead track back to life and give a local community a high point and major boost for the weekend. That Tremec upgrade is going to be a HUGE upgrade for the '55 for highway cruising for sure, very worthwhile upgrade. EVERYONE would love to see you out on a drag and drive event or anything like that. Keep on keepin' on guys! Make sure to check, double check, and triple check the bellhousing to block mating that has to be VERY specifically set. Just a friendly heads up!

I remember watching bangin Bob Hanlon when I was a young lad. It was always one of my favorite cars to watch at the NMRA series when my dad would take me way back in the '90s.
I can’t wait to see the 55 done in the spring. For the record Bill, my wife has never watched the channels but she has SRC/OMG merch that I’ve bought for her😉 so she represents wherever we go on weekends. I also look forward to hear about the track y’all just went to.
Man I was so excited when I walked up to that track on Saturday and seen for the first time, the concrete was like a new road, Virgin road. I thought, this is gonna be real good. Next closest thing to being at a real street race and getting to see it all. I’ve been to that track several times and it had more people there probably then the last ten years it was opened lol, the place was packed!

Can’t wait to see the blooper real you talked about on the word on the streets show. It’s been amazing seeing everything coming together the last few months. The new shop and getting the 55 to a point where it is going to be a great daily driver also seeing the s10 make some killer passes and seeing Tommy improving his tuning skills. And we can’t forget about Allison and the amazing footage she has been getting. Y’all have been an inspiration for me to get back on my race car project. Keep up the amazing work.

That tkx is a good transmission. I just put a brand new one in my 93 coupe. I had to change out the clutch for a spec 2 unit. The one I first put in damn near had to be pressed with both feet. All good now. Great video Bill

You have one of the best car shows in the country near where you guys live. GOODGUYS in Columbus. Your dad would love to spend a day there. The Tremec was a terrific choice for the 55. I installed one in my 71 Nova several years back and improved my mileage from 13 to over 17, and 75mph at 2350rpm. It’s great

The 55 will be a lot better to drive with the new transmission. The transmission in it is as old as the hills!! Lol. I adore the way you and miss Vicky are with your dogs. I'm the same way. I'd do anything for my best friend and the feeling is mutual. Love your content Bill! 👌
