Two Australian citizens and a Filipina were found bound and murdered on July 10th, 2024 in Tagaytay Philippines, a vacation area known for cool temperatures, and scenic views. This is the story of the murder of David Fisk, his partner Lucita Cortez, and her daughter-in-law Mary Jane Cortez, and how this murder in a Philippine resort town was quickly solved by excellent police work.

From initial info, I guessed it was a targeted hit of one or both of the couple. main reason being the story mentioned NO valuables appeared to be taken. all were killed to limit evidence via eye witness. Now im guessing the shoes and watch were valuable enough to not bother with the other stuff, and/or to confuse the investigation. (plus, taking cell phones is a big mistake or obvious reasons). RIP. Murdering ppl over such a thing, smh.

There were valuables taken....one was a watch of the deceased. I am not sure If there are more stuff taken.

Main reason the crime was easily solved is not only does the hotel have CCTV cameras, the barangay (village community) and nearby establishments also have CCTV cameras, and Philippine police are experts at piecing together multiple CCTV camera footages from different souces to trace or backtrack a criminal's trail. Owners of CCTV cameras are willing to cooperate to the police to provide the footages.

When I first saw the CCTV still image of the suspect, I knew he's an employee or former employee of the hotel because he knew there were CCTV cameras all over the hotel.

I’m laughing at your question because I just discovered them a few days ago and have been telling everyone. I bought it at store called UNIQLO. 4 shirts and a pair of shorts for $73 US. The brand on inside of shirt says UNIQLO also. They are super cool and don’t need ironing. Best, Joe.

Joe, off topic. Do you know anything about the latest visa situation in the Philippines? The visa changes make the Philippines unappealing to stay there longer term.

Hi Kim, I know very little about what’s happening. I do know I’d rather renew every couple of months than pay 10k for an SRRV. When I was at immigration a few weeks ago, they told me if i went to Intromuros, I could get a 6 month extension. Wish I had more for you. Best, Joe
