Saw Muse live in Wembley some good years back, I remember we'd been standing in the blazing heat for HOURS! Finally got into the stadium, watched the lineup of Biffy Clyro and White Lies, then suddenly Uprising begins to play, people marching on the stage with flags, and as Muse made their entry, the heavens literally opened and it began pouring with rain. It was absolutely exhilarating!!
This track is about that encourages listeners to rise up against oppressive rulers, corporations, and influences in the world. The lyrics portray a call to action to take power back, to reclaim control, and to unite together to fight against oppression. The track speaks of the need to protect freedom and justice, to see truth even in difficult conditions, and to never give up in their fight against those that deny them their individual liberties. The message of the track is that everyone should come together to inspire and motivate each other to create a more equitable world.
If you look at it biggly from all their songs the people who claim to protect you are maybe even worse than the people they claim to protect you from. Especialy when you consider how islam treats lgbt compared to christians who just rant about hellfire stds and broken hearts. And the people who should know bring those people here while promoting lgbt. Leading to increased radical islam recruitment.
Oh and to be clear. I think finding someone who loves you is hard. Even if everyone is not encouraged to F around with everyone. That would make things harder.
I remember when the music video came out and it was the first music video for MUSE I ever saw. At that moment, I was instantly hooked. To this day, they are my favorite band.
I remember when I wanted to sing this for a middle school talent show and they wouldn't let me because it mentioned "drugs".... Then they let a different girl sing Tik Tok by Kesha.
I live in little old Adelaide and MUSE came and it was THE BEST DAMNED SHOW IVE EVER SEEN... Then I saw them in Melburne in a bigger venue... OMG... Now if I can see them in a really big venue like Wembley...😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Remember, wash your hands. Practice social distancing. On your own. Don't let it get to the point where the government and military forces it. We can beat this virus. We must help each other. Stay strong. Stay informed. 👊
This was intro to Muse, and a pretty wierd one at that. Started with getting hooked on Dr. Who -> found a youtube clip with the Dr. Who cast on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks', heard the intro to this song in the program -> got hooked on Muse.
The synths going into the chorus remind me of a song from the minecraft soundtrack (can't remember the name) but that's one of the reasons that this song is so Nostalgic for me. It reminds of when I would play minecraft with my friends. I also listened to this album on my Muse album marathon when I first discovered them while playing minecraft.
The NZ Trucker protesters are being subjected to the "Baby Shark" song blasted on repeat by their government. It would be awesome if they found a way to blast this song on repeat back!
