Thanks Momzilla. Im getting closer and closer to having a sterile lab in a separate building. But Its been a huge mission. Ive had to get power and water to an old gold mining building on waste land behind my place. Insulated and lined - painted and thoroughly cleaned

@@t.h.o.r. Such a huge undertaking! TinyHouse, have you thought about giving your contaminated Jars a few squirts of Colloidal Silver??? Certainly, no harm at this point! Wink!

@@t.h.o.r. Good to go then! It will be really interesting to see if the Silver Ions don't kill the bacteria. While you are putting together a spray bottle for the contaminated jars, make one for yourself and keep it in the bathroom. Spray your eyes (closed) and wipe before washing your face. Our eyes seldom get a deep cleaning! I'll keep an eye out for you next episode. Honk from Canada! Trudeau must go!

That Agar I poured the other day. I fumbld and dropped one dish as I was taping it closed. but I thought I would wrap it anyway and just mark it as a test. It has erupted with 4 exotic bacteria. theres 4 bright orange ones that look like split lentils 3 brilliant white shiny ones that look like pearls and the usual green trichoderma and a fuzzy brown one @@AndreaDingbatt

@@t.h.o.r. I Feel your Pain! That sounds as though you might have discovered some Interesting,.. but Eargh contaminations! My hallway carpet has been growing fungi that Look like ears,,,due to the landlord not dealing with the damp... ~ or preventing it from raining ondoors! (A Massive Puffball-type fungi came up through the floorboards as well,,,) Im thinking about trying to grow something here on my walls,,,,ot even just the floors!! Trich seems to be bleepingy Everywhere,,, except in my houseplants compost,,,😆 Ive had what looks like P.Cubensis growing in with repotted plants,,, ~but Im not going to try them, in case of them being the deadly Galerina....🙄 Best Wishes, Andrea and Vritters. ...XxX...

Thanks Jeffery, Yes Ive learned so much already. I hope the mistakes stop soon and I can move into a perfect system that will be reliable week after week- Im going to have very 'sporaddic' production until I get these issues sorted- luckily - all its costing me is a bucket or so of wheat grains.

Now I know why 'real mushroom farmers' cool their pressure cooker in front of their flow hood for 6 hours before removing the grain jars.

Boy am I learning!- we live in a spore soup!

No- you got that really wrong- My Laminar flow hood is not finished yet. that is the main tool in my lab- It filters air and breathes it out gently creating a 'bubble' of clean air to work in. Currently Im doing transfers at my desk in a large plastic bag and getting about 50% success rate. The contam was caused by hot grain cooling and sucking dirty air past the jar seals.
