Mushroom Xacuti is an authentic #MushroomGravyRecipe from Goan Cuisine. This #MushroomXacuti is made by cooking the mushroom pieces in various aromatic spices, tamarind pulp and water. Mushroom Xacuti Recipe:
Mushroom (quartered) - 250 gms
Carom Seeds (Ajwain) - ¼ tsp
Fennel Seeds - ½ tsp
Cumin Seeds - ½ tsp
Coriander Seeds - 1 ½ tbsp
Cloves - 8 nos
Black Peppercorns - 10 nos
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Star Anise - 2 nos
Dried Red Chilli - 6 nos
Nutmeg Powder - ¼ tsp
Mace - 1 no
Poppy Seeds - 1 tbsp
Coconut (grated) - 1 Cup
Garlic - 5 Cloves
Oil - 4 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - A Pinch
Onion (finely chopped) - 3 nos
Salt - 2 tsp
Tamarind Pulp - 1 tbsp
Coriander Leaves (chopped) - For Garnish
Water - 1 Cup + 1 Cup
Cooking Instructions:
1. Dry roast all the spices until aromatic.
2. Dry roast the coconut with the garlic and poppy seeds for 3-5 mins.
3. Blend the spices and coconut with the garlic with half a cup of water into a smooth paste.
4. Heat oil and brown the onions.
5. Add the mushrooms, turmeric and salt and saute well. Add the tamarind pulp.
6. Add the ground paste.
7. Add 1 cup of water and simmer for 5 mins.
8. Serve warm with pav or rice.
