We have an emotional attachment to music, the nuances that musicians like you bring while playing a piece,I don't think can be replicated by AI!

Thanks, Amber! You have a great perspective; AI can do many things for us (and will be able to do many more), but AI will not be able to replace the joy and sense of accomplishment we get from doing things ourselves. My own thoughts are that, as advanced as AI is, it is too primitive right now to be relied upon for critical matters. When responding to my questions, AI confidently produces responses, even though many times parts of the responses are wrong. Additionally, AI will often misunderstand the question, and it will answer a simpler question instead. Another danger of AI is that it will give people an opportunity to get lost in a virtual dream world that the user designs. This world would have no danger, and it could provide whatever one’s heart desires. In the meantime, career, family, and friends would fall by the wayside because they do not guarantee bliss the way that the dream world does. AI can also be taken away. If a corporation we depend on goes under, then we would have to start from scratch on another company’s system. And what if some catastrophic failure results in the unavailability of any AI? I work at a college, and we have had many discussions about how students are using AI to do work for them. In particular, students often choose to use AI to do their writing assignments for them. Will this use of AI result in generations of people unable to go beyond basic conversation without taking out a device to compose ideas into unambiguous communication? People also need to continuously practice developing original ideas that are worth communicating. Anyway, thanks for reading, and have a good night! ✨

That first piece was beautiful. How I look at the AI thing is, it's irrelevant to my playing enjoyment because there are so many people technically and artistically better than me, but they still don't have more fun playing. Gotta do your own thing.

Deep philosophical discussion by the crackling camp fire with the starry sky overhead and a choice beverage in hand is one of my favorite pastimes Amber. Wow, you opened up a lot of interesting directions there. Being "in the zone" is something Martin Seligman talks about in positive psychology as the "flow state", the second most intense form of happiness, the third form being sensory pleasure and the highest form a devotion to some purpose greater than oneself. Whats interesting to me about the flow state is that we lose all sense of time and self, the implication being that our sense of time and of self are elements of what I think you were referring to as "the darkness" that we experience in this earthly life. On the topic of AI, the deeper you go down that rabbit hole, the more, either excited or depressed you get. I would point you to the topic of "the technological singularity", the work of Raymond Kurzweil and the ideas of numerous thought leaders on the "intelligence explosion". I hope you are correct (but suspect otherwise) in some (or most, or possibly all) of your predictions about what AI will never be able to be or do. I agree with you completely on your comments about values and the human experience because those are part of the definition of what we are as human beings, our experiences and our choices. But I think it is likely that AI will sooner rather than later be realized as a new form of agency on planet Earth that dwarfs all human capabilities, including all the finer aspects of our humanity such as morality and judgement, art and aesthetics, emotion, spirituality, or any other quality or aspect you care to name. ps, Of course whether they will have sentience and conscious experience will be an open question. Its an open question whether animals and even some people are truly sentient. Personally I believe animals are sentient and conscious and that Ai will be also. It might be already.

So interesting to hear that Bach Partita on the viola! I just started learning violin for the first time in my life last month at the age of 52. I’m not ready for most of your videos but I try to get something out of them any, you’re an inspiration. Not really interested in AI though, sorry…. 😄

You and this video you made are one of the many proofs that AI can never replace humanity. All of your music and thoughts you have given over the years are such a gift to everyone who listens. You get into music in a way that is more like sharing than showing off. Some approach music more like a competitive sport which gets kind of tiring to me. Thanks for all your insights and beautiful music.

Thank you so much ☺️🎻✨ that’s actually how I felt about music when I graduated from my masters program (that is was all just showing off)-I didn’t listen to music for a few years because of that…only podcasts or audiobooks. It took a lot to recover from that perspective…but I’m grateful to have experienced the out of tune-ness with music that I did…When I finally got out of the distorted feeling about music it was pretty magical💕🎶 thank you so much for saying that-it means a lot!!!

I like so much how you play the Partita in a slow tempo and with little vibrato 👌😑. In my job IA will become very important in no time (I work in scientific instrumentation) and I hate this idea. Actually I was very happy before internet so I let you imagine... Fortunately enough I'm about to retire after 23 years of career, I've earned enough and so I will totally ignore IA 🙏. What's for sure I will never replace you by a robot, you're too sensitive and overall beautiful as a human being to be ever emulated. These are all for you Amber ⚘🌼🌻🌺🥀🌹☘🍃 and by the smell they are very real.

👍I'm with you on enlightenment and will power of the human spirit.. HUMAN Music is ESSENTIAL.. AI will diminish human intellect even more than digital technology already has for some. Some people aren't realizing how lazy and dull they've become.. and not everyone has become like that either, thankfully! Unfortunately, age related issues can cause us to do that to ourselves, if we don't keep fighting! Keep on rockin' Amber! 🎻👨🏻
