You can't go wrong if you listen/review the full soundtrack from Death Note. It's just amazing, so much prog rock, then the symphonies... So much variety and everything is just so well written and represent the personalities of the characters and the story. Just incredible.

Oh, you mean Kyrie II? I genuinely couldn't decide from the title of the video, I think you should put it in there And with that said: my man! Death Note is the first anime soundtrack I ever really listened to, and Kyrie II was among the few that stood out even among all the God-tier OST

Hey, I'm just beginning learning to transcribe music, and the thing that stood out to me was all the time signature changes. Do those changes seem correct? Especially I think one part was a single bar in 5/4 followed by 3/4, which seems like that would just add up to 2 bars of 4/4. Is it normal to have time signature changes for a single bar?

Death Note has tons of great soundtracks. My favorite is the first ending. I also love what's apparently just called "Death Note Theme". It plays in ep 22 when Higuchi leaves his apartment to find Matsuda's name. The climax coincides with Higuchi's Porsche revving up. So, a question I have, is why is there a Bb in the key signature when almost every instance of the note on the stave is a B-natural. Seems kind of pointless, no? Is it because they are just assuming the people performing the music don't understand different modes that they have to just assume D-minor instead of D-dorian?

Yea, wild, right? Definitely sounds Dorian as the Major 6th is SO present in the melody. You can write it either way, and we get the same sounds. Keep in mind this is on musecsore and is not an official publication. The one benefit if you were sight singing in the mental framework of d minor, is that b natural is easy to sing thinking of it as a raised 6th. Definitely Dorian tho
