I typically sing alto, but I have been told I'm an dramatic soprano. There's a Disney Broadway open call coming up asking for 16 bars, and I'm looking for something good.
You defo want a character song, think something along the lines of somewhere thats green, shy from once upon a mattress, keep his dinner warm from how to succeed, gorgeous the apple tree, I resolve from she loves me. Best of luck x
Okay so I’m auditioning for Pippin and the main role I’m going for is leading player, she’s an alto-y mezzo as am I lol😂 I don’t have a super bright voice like most of the mezzo songs do. Is there any suggestions of songs that show off belting that isn’t starting with a really forward placement?
Best to go for something storytelling with lots of personality, all falls down from Chaplin may be a good one here. Or have a listen to some other unknown Schwartz shows such as the magic show. Best of luck x
Hi, I’m auditioning for Newsies and it’s going to be most of the males played by girls I’m an alto 2 and going to be trying for Davey. I have no clue what I’m going to sing. It needs to be upbeat and the director wants range since I can go alto 2 through high mezzo soprano. Any suggestions? And I say alto 2 because I’m also in advanced choir and that’s my comfortable and best voice placement.
Ohhhh, Maybe have a listen to some other Alan Menkin songs as he wrote the music for Newsies, some good stuff in sister act, and even some of his disney stuff! Not a bad idea to maybe even sing a male song like 'proud of your boy' of your going for a male. Best of luck x
Anyone still here two years later: I'm auditioning for Chorus Line...specifically Diana. I have mostly golden age songs in my book and I need something for the pre contemporary. Everyone suggests Grease and that's so overdone. Please send suggestions!!
Hey! My range is around the tenor lowww alto and im auditioning for rock of ages. Its always been hard finding a song that fits my vocal type and i usually have to audition with songs in Ben Platt or George Salazar’s range. Any recommendations? Im im desperate need lol
Why is that odd? Try and find some slightly unknown Disney. Have a listen to some other Alan Menkin musicals and even little princess the musical. Best of luck x
I'm doing an audition for a tv show and i have no idea what kind of song I should do, it's my first audition and i don't know what i need to look for. So if anyone has any suggestions pleaseeeee (I don't really know what i am, i sing tenor in my choir but also used to be a soprano when i was in my old choir so im confused)
@@justjosiejo uhhh probably auditioning for a role like nancy, Im female and I sing alto if that helps... keep in mind tho my song can't be anything "modern" like from recent musicals. Idk why but
@@Haley-pn4tv bring on the men, jekyll and hyde. Wouldn't it be lovely, my fair lady, worse pies in London, sweeny todd. Leave iy to the ladies or far away from Blitz the musical. Saturday night from Jack the Ripper. Just make sure whatever song you sing has a cockney accent.
Can someone suggest me an audition song . I'm auditioning for peter pan as peter pan and I need a song that's real energetic and boy like but still a little high like . Kind of like the original peter pan
