Yes, I second checking out the version of this song with Jeff Healey. He was a Canadian Blues artist who lost his sight due to cancer when he was one and has a very unique style of playing guitar. Unfortunately he passed from cancer when he was in his early 40's. Cheers

Check out the version of this he does with Jeff Healey, another really good bluesman. And I know there are a lot of great bassists who started out as guitar players. Chris Squire comes to mind. With him, it actually helps explain his style of playing and his re-wiring of the bass to have a bass output and a guitar output. In some of their older videos you can see the two cords coming out of the bass, like the version of Yours is No Disgrace on German TV in 1971 or 1972 that is hanging around on RU-vid.

Another great song by SRV and DT with a seamless guitar switch. Yes, it always good to have help, but SRV just made it look so smooth. Completely unflappable in times of near disaster for most guitar players. 😁 Also love the addition of Reece to DT!

Kathy here - Love seeing the younger generation getting into the music I grew up on. I will be 69 soon, and while I have never seen him live, he was a smooth criminal on that guitar switch. You should probably check out one or two of Stevie's instrumental performances (he was big into instrumentals, especially fast ones). Try "Scuttle Buttin'/"Say What" live at Montreux 85, and "Hideaway"/"Rude Mood", live at Montreux 82. Then you've got "Testify" (I love to play this one myself), "So Excited" and "Wham!" from Live at the El Mocambo (Stevie said "Wham!" was the first record he ever had, a Lonnie Mack cover). And of course you have to do "Texas Flood" from the El Mocambo gig too - you have no choice in this...you HAVE to do that one. Ok? Got it? Crack on my son lol.
