Musings and Sibling Ramblings - Cowsill Podcast EP 125 

Just listened, omg, your talk about your Dad triggered the memories I have from that era, and the tears are rolling down my cheeks. One never knew what was gonna set my Dad and stepmother off on a rampage, and neither of them drank. I’m so glad I grew up with my mom and her parents and spent most of my time with that side of the family. But My poor 1/2 siblings and stepsister had to endure this full time. We probably endured somewhat less personal cruelty (Christmas was never taken away - except for one greatly wished for Christmas present being broken, fixed, and broken, before it even got used), and no violence to our physical persons’, only to things. But it was enough to scar all of us. My 1/2 brother to this day worries about every little thing he does will upset someone. Things got better, for me at least in later years before my dad passed - way too young - and I do have many nice memories from time spent with my dad and family from back then and that is what I try to remember, not those rampages. And so glad for all of us fans, that you all had your music and performing to provide the light and happiness in your lives. Your song “Some Good Years” always resonates with me.
