Nice and SIMPLE way of looking at season musky patterns during the summer months. Those casting tips for open water away from structure are valuable especially on SE WI lakes where trolling can be hindered by floating weeds. Find those pods of baitfish! Taking the time to search with electronics before casting a line can be a great investment. Thanks Jeff and Jeff :)

marking bait fish first: how fast do bait fish move around?

+Ezra Kohli there is no concrete answer. It will partly depend on weather, wind, and lake. If it's windy the bait might shift as their food shifts. Some lakes the bait tends to hang out in similar spots longer but usually you'll need to verify them everyday. If your fishing a place like Green Bay the bait moves often in the fall as water temps drop
