Hello Kevin Tetz, Eastwood, or to anyone in this industry, I have been forced to change my career. My age is 49.5, I am an extreme perfectionist, I'm extremely detail oriented in everything I do, and I learn quickly. Lastly, I am OBSESSED with cars and trucks. I'm considering beginning a career in the auto-body, painting, and restoration industry. I was planning to retire at age 65... That gives me 15 years, or longer to learn, work hard, and try to be successful. My question is: "Am I too old to begin a career in this particular industry?"

Well done Kev, I wonder why the color chart didnt show the poly primer though in the top to bottom break down photo?

I'd say they likely used the same principle as a jet engine on the turbine systems to cool the hot air down too. Larger intake fan bypassing cool intake air around the hot air. Obviously they do still have to compress it to whatever psi it runs at, so a bypass wold be almost identical to a real jet.

What is the darker blue color shown, when kevin was going through the demo colors. He said he loved the color, as do i, however he didn't say what the color was called only that it was sprayed over a white base.

How does anyone safely use urethane paints without a spray booth? Does eastwood offer any lacquer options for the home painter?

I've watched a few of your videos and have a question about the painting process. If you are doing a section or panel one at a time as you showed beginning with the roof, how do you deal with the overspray on lower areas? Eg front corner quarter panel finishing next to the door area.

How good is the new roller on primer ? I have no equipment so would that be a good solution to use this on bare metal?

Eastwood Company Do you think respraying a road car with the "Eastwood Electric Turbine HVLP Spray Paint Gun System" (80USD) would be a bad idea? It's by no means a show car, the paint would be far from perfect. I currently have access to a compressor and paint gun, but the ease of the turbine system looks very nice.

What was the name of the Blue you said was your favorite and was going to use on a buddies truck project?

I have a 76 Cordoba and I'm filling the pins from the where the vinyl top was, has some weathering. the original paint is good but has sunspots on the trunk and top right down to the primer and almost to the primer on the hood. could I not do 3-4 coats where I'm touching up around the back windows and then 2-3 thin over the whole thing? also, it's a cheap job.

Kevin, I think the world of you sir and have several of your paintucation videos. BUT regarding the permant markers, intially I thought great idea, but my body owner friend said its a NO NO because the marker can absorb into your primer( I was circling highs and lows after having shot my epoxy primer ) and cause you problems later with your paint!! Your thoughts please????

I wish I'd seen this live. I wish someone had asked what the difference is between epoxy over body work vs body work over epoxy. I gravitate towards body work over filler but loads of people swear by doing their body work directly on metal. Is there ever any real reason to choose one over the other?

What about spraying expanding foam in rockers? Will it stop rust because it seals the whole cavity?

I have lots of questions! After hours on end of watching your videos and spending 2k on Eastwood products. Can I use multiple small compressors ties inline together onto a 20 gal tank? I have a HF compressor and 2 framing construction compressors. the keep my air tools running well but not sure if there are issues with this?

When painting at home with the 2 pack paint, do u need heaters to harden the base or clear?

Hi I just wanted to know a very important question, if I already applied 1k primer on top of bare metal and I didn't use a pre treatment? Should a remove the primer completely or can I use the pre treatment on top of the primer? I'm using pro form 1k high built primer 5 in 1 . Please an answer would be extremely appreciated

wish i saw this video before i painted my car because i have to sand the car down to bare metal I was told i could use Lacquer primer I painted my car with urethane and clear coat and it was beautiful then i decided to add flames so i hand sanded the door and hood with 1000 grit and added the tape 3M 1/8 fine line tape all looked good until i decided to change some flames and i pulled big chunks of paint off the car boy i could cry So im sanding all off again However after watching your video im not sure how to do the flames I was going to paint the car then add flames but i know i would exceed the window of clear coating You said to scuff the paint and then reshoot the paint I would have to tape off the flames and reshoot the car again Would it be better to paint the car and clear coat it all then just scuff where im putting the flames and reshoot the clear on it
