I like this guy...lots of good advice ! I spray large lacquer projects and your key of keeping the edge alive is what should be focused on. Good Stuff Brother

Gonna say this and then finish the video. On a "roll around compressor". I painted a GTO for a friend in my front yard using the gladhand air outlet on a 300 Mac truck. I painted a AMX Javelin using a gas powered carpenter's compressor for him also. The trick was timing and reducer. I was taught by a very good painter in the early 80s. His theory was a beer between coats and at least four coats of paint. The trick to a good job is cleaning the surface. I paint in my yard on good days.....LOL

spray early in the morning when there's no wind or bugs. use med. or fast reducer and a large tip, move fast. Beers by noon.

I painted a 67 Mustang in a 4 stall garage, radiant heat, plastic over one wall of shelves, water thrown on the floor, no fans bring air in a window past a filter and fans under the garage door, and turned out "BEST OF SHOW/BEST OF CLASS" paint work. ANYONE can paint their project with minimal conditions and finish/sanding work....in fact, never wet-sanded the base or clear at all. NOTHING BUT TO DO IT is a lesson used through-out life.

I like the paint on the old van back there in solid color British Racing Green. I think it is single stage highly polished.

It seems that sprinkling baby powder onto a flat panel would be a good way to augment the paint brush taped to the spray gun training aid. The powder would reveal where the bristles touched heavy or were not in contact with the panel. Thus revealing if your sweep isn't "robotic."

Few counties in CA are still running low VOC enamels, epoxies and such. We still only have to smog our cars once also. Thank God!

too poor to be an Eastwood Guy, but i really wanna be =( Love watching Kevin, been watching him for years on trucks. seems like a really good dude, and full of a wealth of knowledge. Really interested in your welders, and your ElastiWrap products. Maybe someday before I am too old to crawl all over my ride and Eastwood it out.

Could you use the turbine unit to feed an air fed mask, when spraying 2k? Seems like it could work? No worries about needing to install micron filters to take the oil out etc.

Gee Kevin, dry air with a disiccant air dryer is nice, but unless you like buying loads of those little blue beads you need to setup the compressor piping properly. I see guys with water traps and the traps getting loaded with water. Blue beads can’t fix that. My water trap is perfectly dry. Why? The piping is done right. Look at TPtools metal moisture piping kit. That’s how you need to setup ever air outlet. Now it’s 150$ but you can go to the store and buy the fitting and make your own. Also you need to slope the metal lines back to the compressor. Plastic pex doesn’t trap water or condense it out of the air. Try it out and you’ll see why that thing works.

Totally disagree you do not need a two stage compressor unless you have a shop running multiple tools.

When painting a Hood on folding stand do you cover the top of the hood then paint the under side fiest.

Yes, you would do the "cut-in" first, which is the underside of the hood, then spray the top.
