Thank you for the informative podcast. I contemplated going on this medication simply to lose weight but my doctor advised against it. I am a firm believer in diet combined with slowly ramping up cardio and strength training, as this allowed me to lose over 200lbs over the course of 18+ months. To those struggling with weight loss: Don't give up, you are worth it!

I was prescribed GLP 1 after being diagnosed with diabetes. I took one shot and stopped. I'm 40 pounds from a normal bmi. I'd like to be as med free as possible. I'm trying diet, exercise and making lifestyle changes first, then see how my bloodwork looks in 3 month. Starting at AC1 14.3, BS 301 and also CKD, high cholesterol, high BP. I go in this week for a stress test. Ignoring my bodies signals and soldering on back fired on me. I appreciate the information. I don't want to make my situation worse than it already is.

Thank you for posting this-- though now im terrified as I am precisely the 40 year old woman who started glp 1 injections just to lose 25-30lbs--- I struggle with food addiction/binge eating disorder and have been delighted with the way the drug (i have stayed on the lowest dose) reduces appetite and stops obsessive thinking about food. Its helped me change habits but Ive been nervous about the sugar addiction returning if I stop. The concerns you mention here about vagus nerve and metabolic dysfunction afterwards are truly terrifying.

Thank-you for this most needed and informative helpful medical body mind gut GLp-1 connection. Though I am not diabetic my body seems to be more complex than most. I have studied the body mind connection in control of obesity. Ive been taking 1mg ozempic for 15 months now, and though not much weight loss maybe 6 pounds has happened, when I take the injection the amazing "feel good" receptors in the brain are stimulated where I feel good like in a "zen" mode that transfers throughout my entire body. I don't crave carbohydrates, I feel balanced , but weight loss very little. I'm not obese , physically fit, but since menopause having a challenge with belly fat reduction.

Do you think all of this applies for somebody that takes it in a lower dose and only for a few months? I am that patient 37 year old that need to lose 40 pounds no diabetes no health problems please help doctor

Your comments are turned off on your Ozempic and Mounjaro warning video, I want to know if this you are addressing these injections for weight loss or for those using them for diabetes. Muscle loss because these people are relying on these injections and not lifting weights???

I was put on ozempic 7 mo ago and ive lost 60 pounds however when i was prescribed this medication i was told to do strenth training and resistance exercises, also to eat lots of protien. I was also given lynzess to take once a week to help with the constipation. For me this has been a miracle drug my aic was 4.1 and i am 25 pounds away from my goal weigt
