I hope your get your own truck soon. Am thinking about becoming a truck driver, am 40years old now. Hope to pay for my own cdl license. In California is it too late to become a truck driver?

Do you have to left heavy things? I'm asking bcse I'm a woman obviously and looking to get into Trucking and curious if you think a woman could do that job? I'm not very big but I'm healthy. Just curious. Please don't think I'm trying to say anything demeaning by asking if you think a small statutes woman could do that job. Simply asking for my own knowledge.

Jacque Branch: Of course a woman could do this job. Lifting things only depends on the company, but as far as PAM Transport goes there was no lifting required at all. The only thing heavy there was would be the trailer in which all trailers have crank arms to make it easy. So once again to answer your question, YES a woman to the size you described can easily do this job! ~ Trucker Glenn
