This video shows a common cause for rough idle when filling up with gas fully! This is an easy fix and a great place to start if your experiencing issues with rough idle or stalling. Hope this helps! Link: ppflco.com/pro...
I’m just here to say the fact that this man’s videos help me change out my evap purge valve, fix my radio and change out my low side fuel pressure sensor all within the span of three months. Hope you’re enjoying the smiles per gallon on your new GT
For those of you seeing this video. There are 2 sensors you MUST change with these cars. The one he shows, which can also cause the car to run lean at full open and cause misfire (happened to me) and your low pressure fuel sensor. The fuel sensors go bad with no indications and can cause motor failure. Replace with part number BU5Z-9F972-B. This is the small sensor in the back of the engine bay. Takes a 22mm and 12mm wrench to take off super simple and to avoid a fuel mess to it before you start the car for the first time that day. Also put rags around it when unscrewing. You will lose small amounts of fuel
Thank you so much bought a used ecoboost 2018 40k miles last December couldn’t find any forum even Reddit didn’t help me ! Let me try to change it thanks again
Daily._.Driven, your presentation is excellent. Your video guided me to replace the Evap Purge Valve on my 2018 Mustang EB (18,000 miles) without any issues. Thank you so much for all your work and guidance.
thank you so much this is exectly what im having issues with i just filled up with gas today and i was having rpm drops when i fill up and i was thinking it was due to mileage like spark plugs and igition coils and probably needing to run fuel treatment. well that didnt do it even tho i was following maintenance my mustang is the 3.7 and not ecoboost but tells me this is got to be the same as your issue. so im also going to be giving my throttle body a cleaning as well.
Tyler you’re the man!!! Gonna order the part and hopefully this fixes my problem because my car will shut off after I fill up if I let it idle without giving it gas :(
@@EmmanuelMendoza-nv6gu yup it fixed my issue! Every time I’d gas up it would rough idle really bad and then shut off unless I was giving it gas. Pretty easy fix!
I replaced this purge valve 6 months ago due to a surge at idle. That got better, but now, when i fill up it takes several seconds to start and runs rough for a few seconds. Are they that prone to failure???
I replaced that same sensor, It doesn't shake, almost die and I don't smell gas vapors anymore after i let off the gas idk if that is because I took that hose off the bov for that cool noise but my ecoboost is still popping and it feels like there's no power... sometimes... I replaced that part last week and the check engine light still hasn't came back on. Sometimes it does it when I barely give it gas sometimes it only does it when I'm at full throttle and sometimes it runs just fine. Starting g with small things like cleaning the injectiors and maf sensor or iat sensor idk which it has I've seen both on a couple different fourms lmao
so funny that Canada has stricter standards, I described my issue to a Ford dealer and Ford cooperate, who told me it was considered a "tune up" issue and that there was no possible way it would be covered, even under warranty
My Eco literally just did this now for the 2nd time after fueling and topping it. '20 w/ 15k miles... Why ? Is it the fuel I'm using..? A defective part.. ? Is this covered under warranty..? Thank you in advance for any response..
Oh bummer! Hmm what fuel grade do you use? Your car is so new that this should be covered under warranty. If you have time to drop it at the dealer they should fix it. If not the part is pretty cheap and easy to replace
Could potentially be the Blow off Valve. My purge valve has gone bad 3 times within a year, but I've done nothing to the vehicle. So either Ford keeps giving me bad parts, and telling me it's getting too much boost, or something else is causing it. My ecoboost I4 does have an aftermarket BOV but reads at stock boost levels. So I'm leaning towards Ford being idiots. They told me this was the last time they will replace it under warranty.
Hello Tyler! I got P0456 a couple of weeks ago. I read literally everything about this this and the best solution seemed like an EVAP valve replacement. I did it. But yesterday P0456 error showed up again. Could you please advise?
I've already replaced the low pressure fuel sensor..getting ready to order this evap purge valve...just wondering..have you done a video on replacing the fuel filter (2016 ecoboost)..thanks.
Hey! I recently discovered your channel as I just bought an ecoboost. Have you experienced any major black soot on your exhaust? Been told it’s normal with these type of cars but don’t want it being a problem down the road. Thanks for the help! Appreciate the vids.
Hey Diego, cool congrats on the ecoboost! I definitely have some carbon build up on the tips but not much. A catch can helps that quite a bit! Thanks for watching!
I have a 2017 mustang with ecoboost. When I crank it and shut it off there’s a shake. It’s worse when starting. Is this something to be concerned with? Any thoughts in what it could be?
Is it supposed to make a loud clicking noise the purge valve I replaced mine on my 2014 v6 mustang and old oem ford one didn’t do that but new one does I replaced the solenoid with the two screws and the one wire connector
We have a 2020 ecoboost with 4500 miles on it and for no reason now it’ll have intermittent rough idles at start, reversing, or at stoplights. Think it could go bad that soon?
Hey Troy! It very well could be unfortunately. Thankfully it’s a cheap part. With only 4500 miles Ford will figure that out for ya! Thanks for watching!
I am currently having issues with my 2019 Mustang Ecoboost. After I fill up with gas and start the car, it starts to shake and sometimes turn off. After a couple tries and pushing down on the gas pedal the car goes back to normal. However; I noticed my car battery light turn on when this issue occurs. So I took it to a nearby Auto Zone and O’reilly auto parts and they ran a test and said my voltage regular had failed. I’m trying to figure out what to repair. As I’m a bit skeptical my 2019 car needs a new alternator. Any advice ?
Hey! Hmm I would honestly start by replacing the Evap purge valve and see if you still have the issue. If it’s only when you fill the tank all the way up it’s most likely this valve. If your battery isn’t charging that would be something separate but I would start with the valve 👍
Hey thanks for replying, but sometimes I don’t fill the tank all the way up and it still happens. Pretty much every time I put in gas and try to start the car it shakes.
Hey brother thanks for the video I have a 2020 ecoboost I have 13k on it bought since new now I’m noticing after I fill up it tends to back fire but very mild for like a second nothing to noticeable but this already has happened like 3 times I use Shell v power 93 cause I have a performance tune and full bolt ons do you think ford will cover this for me if it’s the purge valve other then that the car runs great thanks buddy.
Shell fuels have additives that cause GDI engines to knock. Ethanol free/Alcohol Free fuels have less knock resistance and can cause heavy knock corrections as well.
I couldn’t find it at my local auto parts stores but found it on Ebay. The dealer would have them as well as CJ pony parts I believe carries them. As long as you order the new PN you should be good.
It was more frequent when I would fill up with gas fully but idle would dip even at a half tank. So it’s definitely worth looking into. Hope you find out what’s going on! Thanks for watching!
I'm having the same issue. After I fill my 2017 mustang ecoboost tank it has trouble starting, once i press the gas a few times it starts fine. My check engine light, however it shows that I need to replace my Intake Air Temperature sensor code P0113. How do I know if I need to replace this as well?
Hey Crystal, honestly wouldn’t be a bad idea to change at the same time. It’s an easy part to swap. Or you could replace the temp sensor and see if that fixes it. Thanks for watching!
Hey Tyler. I think it’s time to change mine it’s been idling a little rough for a little bit in red lights and when I fill it up it kind of feels like it wants to turn off but for like a second.
@@daily_driven Yes I’ve been told that when you are tuned and full bolt ons that these purge valves will go out every 15k I’m like wow that’s the price we pay for performance the car hasn’t thrown any codes or check engine lights which I thought it would is this the right part number FR3Z-9G297-H
@@victorrippe5845 Oh interesting! I didn’t hear they will go out faster when tuned but could be. Yeah I didn’t have a code either for mine. That looks like the right PN. I put a link to the part in the description if it helps 🙂
@@daily_driven Thank You Tyler I appreciate it. I have another question I was thinking of getting the outlaw flow master mufflers and the flow master Y pipe but for the same price y can get get the MBRP full catback I think I might go with the street version cause I already have a downpipe and I’m afraid it might be to loud if I get the race version what do you recommend me.
@Daily•_•Driven probably won't respond unless you're giving him a compliment on the video or thanking him for something. He likes to "post and ghost." Maybe he will respond someday soon...
You can see the part number flash briefly at 3:02 in the video above. FR3Z-9G297-H I hope this helps. I don't know if this part number is correct. Check to make sure the name of the part says "Vapor Hose"
