Bought a Bullitt Carmax, 6,000 miles. Ended up returning it due to the “Gear grind/scrape”. Bought a second Bullitt 1,700 miles. Better experience but have noticed the grind once, very minimal. Still under extend warranty. I saw the videos pointing this out, almost went with a Mach 1. But love the sound and feel of the Bullitt. I’ll keep it, eventually if I decide to change over, I’ll give the tremec a try. Thank you for the video, seems like we all struggle from time to time with this Trans.

Great video, brother. 👍@3:37 Rev matching and heel-toe downshifting are not exactly the same thing. Rev matching can be done with clutch and accelerator and is used to switch to a lower gear for either acceleration or deceleration. Heel-toe down shifting is used for a more dramatic decrease in speed which requires use of all three pedals with the right foot controlling the brake and gas at the same time where the right foot touching the gas allows the motor to enter a higher revolution to match the change speed necessary to run in the aforementioned lower gear.

I stick with A manual. Since I do my repairs the manual is easier to keep maintenance and last longer. Clutch pressure plate throw out bearing and pilot bearing. Automatic you burn up the clutches or if the solenoids go out you need a rebuild. Way more cost. My opinion. That's why I bought The 2015 SRT Challenger Hellcat Saturday .

@@Gonin60 I love it. 6 speed. Way too much power..... nah not enough. Always want more.... but seriously I have had an Automatic transmission challenger...need the manual get that nostalgic sports car feel. That's why I won't buy a redeye autos only.

I know this is an old vid, but I’ll throw in my 2 cents. I have a Shelby Super Snake with manual and it is a blast to drive, but it does take some skill and more concentration particularly with all that hp. But I think that is a lot of the allure to the manual. You truly feel like a “driver” in a real muscle car. Now I also have a Charger srt8 in automatic. And sometimes it’s nice just being able to get in the seat and just focus on steering while while you mash the gas. I feel like in the auto I experience more of the car’s full raw power potential, but in the manual I get to experience my full driver potential, if that makes sense. Oh, and nice Bullitt! I’m torn at the moment on waiting for my Mach 1 order to arrive who knows when or picking up a used Bullitt. Found a 2019 with only 200 miles on it for 51k. The Mach is 62k.

I miss my Bullitt. I think Ford had Mach 1s priced to high. For 62 I would be trying to get a ZL1

@@Gonin60 I agree they are priced a bit high and you’re right. A ZL1 probably isn’t far off from Mach 1 pricing.

@@flatfoot2034 I would love a Mach 1 at around the 50k mark or mid 50 fully loaded but they are more like low 60’s or high 50’s

@@Gonin60 agree! And that has me really considering the 2019 Bullitt and also building a SS 1LE which is about 10k less than the Mach or like you said a ZL1 for only a little more. Always been a Mustang guy, but the Camaro really is a lot of car for the money

The manual transmission is what makes the car, it provides the best driving experience, not to mention it's the much cooler option if you intend to just drag race and be the fastest sure get the automatic but if you're an enthusiast and you enjoy driving the manual transmission is the obvious choice.

You are never ever ever going to beat a modern automatic transmission with a manual in a race, (with exact built cars), unless the guy in the automatic is sleeping. So essentially, you have a false sense of control with a manual. The only reason a manual was used in the past is because it had an extra gear and was built to handle more horsepower. That no longer is true. So if you have to have a manual to make you feel like a man, then more power to you. But while you feel all manly man, you will be last on race day. That’s not hating on manuals, just the facts ma’am.

@@cruzwritten Lol. I can grab my little automatic shifter and put it in manual and feel semi manly. But what really makes me feel manly is holding my girlfriend instead of a shifter while I outrun manuals. Your girlfriend/wife is getting lonely the next seat over. I use to love vinyl bench seats too. Put a little silicone on there and she would slide right over.

True, but driving will never, never be as enjoyable with an automatic as it can be with a manual transmission.

Most MT-82 trans are fine but Ford has an unacceptable level of failure with these transmissions grinding. Ford will blame you for this too. I traded my 23 for a 24 auto. Couldn't be happier.

I would but the Mach1s are 60k. Where I paid just over 40 for mine I don’t see the need to pay more for a very similar car.

@@Gonin60 Yep. It will cost an extra 1500€ for the auto option when buying new but the manual will have a far higher resale value. Keep getting people offering me crazy money for my 2020 Bullitt 1. Because it’s obviously a Bullitt but 2. Because it’s a manual.

There are no positives of the MT-82 they are Chinese junk. Throw it away and get a Tremec xl magnum and be done with it. Also toss out that crappy factory shifter for a MGW short throw.

I am not impressed with the automatic. They are definitely not as responsive as a DCT or ZF found in european cars. When you hit the paddles the car will not shift immediately. The GT500 is probably better with its DCT. For me its a manual mustang but a automatic BMW.
