His yellow sweater must be all worn out now. We should all chip in and buy him a new yellow sweater! He deserves it as a medal for the contribution in the world of classical music during this, undoubtedly nice, evening gathering
This was at an afterparty for friends folks, playing the piano for fun. Think twice before judging and writing stupid shit. Check out artisan for his new project.
Infernal Advent If you want what they owe you, and you ask for it and you get a text message saying do not come back, Off course you go ....But again best choice he ever made Vortex was gone too, Best choice Vortex ever made, They ( Dimmu Borgir) are nothing anymore....The REAL talent of the band has left, I betcha they ; shagrath and his fake middle earth people are sorry
This is what I've kept wondering lately. And I guess he wasn't the happiest when people posted this video of him, and prefers to be out of the focus from now on as a celebrity, but I'm so grateful for this vid and I just watch it over and over again
If someone in the bar is playing Chopin, even if you're getting liquored up, you shut your mouth and you listen. Just don't be the person to yell out "Play Freebird!"
I actually like the people in the background. They add atmosphere and when they realise who and what they're listening to you can tell they appreciate it. Mustis is not the type of artist who plays in silent halls in front of people in bow ties and evening dress. He goes where there is life and noise and adds a soundtrack to it.
AresAargaroth I am a musician too, so what? with Your comment You showed that You know nothing about this musician or maybe You can do better? so show it to everyone instead of writing
That's how i met my wife, at a private party i watched a classic acoustic guitar (steel and nylon strings) and started to play Beethoven. She was the only one person sitting next to me just to listen what i was playing because the rest of the people were into trance/techno. She almost had an heart attack when i said to her that i grew up into Metal and Punk/Hardcore (i'm still into it) and she asked "Why are you playing Beethoven ?", i answered "It's a challenge for me to play Classical Music on guitar."
I'm so sorry to be this guy, but I'm truly baffled that Shagrath, Silenoz, and/or whatever hidden face in the music industry with his/her own agenda could make such an asinine fucking decision. Firing this guy from Dimmu was simply fucking stupid. They were a 'black metal band' already before, but their careers jolted upwards when they brought in Mustis and ICS Vortex. Musical differences and various levels of energy are what made the band unique. I hope wherever Mustis is, he's happy and at peace.
Oyvind Mustaparta AKA "Mustis" was really in his element, in the zone here. This video really showcases his ability to tune out everything else and focus on the music. This kind of talent comes from the soul.
This is still amazing to come back to after a few years. I love the, slice of life, relaxed vibe of this moment. I always admired Mustis' considerible contributions to Dimmu. The beauty of some forms of Black Metal is that they fuse two of my musical loves. Metal🤘and Classical🎻!!! We hope you're doing well out there in 2020 Mustis, and that you are finding outlets for your obvious passion for the art. I hope we hear more from you someday! 👍
JAW DROPPING!!!! The amazing amount of talent Mustis has!!!!! He always makes such incredibly complicated musical pieces look so easy to play! After watching this I am speechless. I had the opportunity to see Mustis play with Dimmu Borgir on the Invaluable Darkness tour and He just blew Me away. His talent is just endless and this video is a good example of that. A true musician at heart and I really hope We hear more from Him in the near future! Great Musician! Great video! And a amazingly difficult piece to play. Thank You so much for sharing this brilliant Musician's video with Us All.
If this monster of the keyboards knew he's one of the main inspirations of many other keyboardists around the world (including me of course), how does it feel? Seeing him away from stages and just playing a Chopin tune is something I didn't expect to get across, but now that I saw it I'm so happy.
mustis is amazing.he brings a softness to the darkness.that softness im talking about is certainly not to be mistaken with weakness.if you watch him in the video the sacrilegious scorn youll see that side, quiet just watching etc.its incredible to watch his intensity while he plays. everyones right though these people should shut up however it just shows his talent to block everything out. mustis your the best and regret ill never meet you im all the way in the usa lol. your truly loved
norwegians that i know are the classiest people on earth. they have the best food ive ever tasted and the most humble approach to you. most of france's art and food value is nothing to be compared to that of Norway's. If there is any faith and purity of art that is not tainted by todays society, it lies only in Norway.
Very very worth listening despite the noise! Although most of the people in that room don't seem to know what awesome piece of music they just get brought by a very talented pianist, he is continuing, giving it with his good technique still the articulation it deserves!! Wonderful dynamics, phrases, trills, melody... Great musician. Thank you for sharing that! There is awesome music beside Metal... obviously! ;)
Thanks for the video sortefinn! Undoubtedly one of the best performers in the world (even with short hair) ;-) Mustis I bow humbly to your unspeakable talent!
Mustis... you're really the best of the best... you don't know how I adore you after I've seen you playing the classic piano as the way you play it... You and Ics Vortex would to form a common band to keep on being together in the really music...!!!!
@sortefinn That's mainly what people write on here unfortunately. Thank you so much for posting this, extraordinary. So happy to see him moving on with his talents.
Good to see him continuing his talent. I miss his hair. Wish I were there. Those classical pieces are fun to play and he plays them fairly well :) I miss Øyvind.... ♥
Mustis will always be my favorite musician on the keys. He honored himself by leaving the tragedy that my former favorite band Dimmu Borgir became. I hope to hear more from him though...
Mustis would have made a great old west saloon pianist. He'd just keep playing without missing a note even when shootouts and poker brawls are going on behind him.
i really wish we could go back in time so maybe dimmu with the best members could have worked things out despite whatever differences they had we'd have more symphonic black metal masterpieces after in sorte diaboli
