As others have said, "Latata" was (G)I-DLE's debut song, released on the mini-album "I AM" in May 2018. Here are some fun tidbits about the song and the group from that era: "Latata" wasn't originally going to be Idle's debut, nor did leader/rapper Jeon Soyeon originally intend to be the group's songwriter/producer/choreographer. As the group was being put together and training in 2017 the plan was to debut in early 2018 with a song selected for them by CUBE Entertainment, their label/agency. Whether that would have been a song written by one of CUBE's in-house producers or a freelancer isn't known, but CUBE had a solid lineup of songwriters that they worked with regularly. Soyeon had written and put out two low-key solo tracks in the preceding months, "Jelly" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FJ8kJdTYj1o.html ) and "Idle Song" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b01dBTBzyz0.html ) which served as teasers for (G)I-DLE (Soojin appears in both wearing a fox mask). BUT, for reasons unknown, CUBE could not decide upon a debut track, and the debut was pushed back. Soyeon, who had come up through the Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar competition shows as a trainee, had suffered a lot of - shall we say "unkind" - comments during those shows about her appearance. Her face is slightly asymmetrical and many "fans" said that she was "ugly", didn't look like a pop idol, and that she would NEVER get a debut. So, when CUBE delayed Idle's debut it triggered a lot of Soyeon's fears for the future - all the taunts about "you'll never debut" came back. She decided that if not having a song was the hold-up, SHE would write their song. She had already been taking lessons in production and arrangement (as Soyeon often says, she really has no life outside of making music - she spends almost all her free time in the studio) and after creating the demos for "Latata" was able to convince CUBE and the other members to go with it. It was a HUGE risk - groups almost always only get one chance to debut and it can shape the future of the entire group. Had "Latata" flopped it could have set back (G)I-DLE or potentially ruined all their careers. The fact that 19 year-old Soyeon, with a great reputation from competition shows but only a couple of low-profile singles in her repertoire, was able to convince the rest of Idle and CUBE to let her dive off this cliff without a net was amazing, and with hindsight we know it MADE the group. "Latata" won three music shows during promotion, got lots of attention, and started the group on the way to the 13 Rookie of the Year Awards the racked up in 2018. Soyeon has written and produced every (G)I-DLE title track since, wrote every track on their second mini-album "I MADE" (except "Blow Your Mind", written and produced by member Minnie who is following in her leader's footsteps making music herself), and led the group to a Japanese debut, American promotional contracts, and the appearance on Queendom (Soyeon's third competition show - she LOVES doing them) that has given their reputation and visibility another big boost. Soyeon's creative vision has been exploding over the course of the 18 months since "Latata", and watching her work in clips like "Made by Soyeon" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nLKPXoxPGfI.html ) and the behind the scenes segment for "Lion" on Queendom ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N5uW7ni3vu8.html ) is so fascinating!! No one calls Soyeon "ugly" now - the word you see attributed to her most often now is "genius". She is a once-a-generation talent - like Prince or Madonna - and I think she's going to have an AMAZING career.

Jeon Soyeon is the leader, main rapper and producer of (G)-Idle. She writes the main tracks, and almost every other song from them. Also Minnie, the third girl that appears in the MV has written some, Blow your Mind is one of them and has an MV too. Now, the order for their MVs are -Latata -Hann -Blow your Mind -Señorita -Uh-Oh -Latata (Japanese ver.) -Lion (already reacted) Still you SHOULD react or at least hear by yourself their whole discography because every song is just incredible.

None of their title tracks are the same and I just can’t get over how talented they are. Literally NO ONE is doing it like them.

Performed the Rap Scary in Unpretty rapstar 4years ago, fantastic, participated in KDA/Popstars, where she did the character Akali. And now Queendom a fantastic variety show where Idle placed third.

They are really blowing up lately, and you should check out some of their collabs as well KDA with popstar features Soyeon and Miyeon (she is the one in the stall in latata) STATION X 0 (song is wow thing thats the edit i forgot) an smtwon collab group features Soyeon and also SinB (of Gfriend), Seulgi (of red velvet), and Chungha (a soloist formerly in IOI) those are good starts :) Soyeon also wrote produced and composed the song NO for CLC (as a gift to her senior group) it gave CLC their first music show win (sidenote check them out as well if you havent they are IMO amazing start with NO (because Soyeon) but check out Hobgoblin or black dress next (both not their newest but they are so effing good))
