It has been a great summer living on the boat. I wish I could have taken Thirsty Whale out more than I did, but that will change next season with a new (to me boat). Just a short talk about how the summer has been 2/3 of the way through, and plans for the end of the season and beyond. Enjoy!

Good stuff Chad! I'd love to see some of the boat previews you mentioned as you look for a boat. That interaction between your viewers might be really informative.

Thanks Jeff! I think the same…get some good feedback on what I’m looking at…assuming The Whale sells as some point. 😁

Hard to believe the season is wrapping up already. Been good for us, out most weekends. Last weekend for us (and the Fox River Locks) is Oct 7th and 8th. Maybe, maybe 1 more week but then time to put her away. I've tried to wait longer in the past but the weather turns quick that time of year. Cheers!

Always goes by so fast! At least I get some overtime this year in to the first week of November.

Hi Chad, Chuck from San Francisco Bay Area. Yeah, I agree larger boats will require crew members. Bow thrusters as you know do reduce the stress load. The wind and current can change in a moments notice. Having that extra eye out certainly assists with docking. Currently and most recently was going to ask you if your boat might be for sale. However, most recently, having some financial challenges. I’m a commercial realtor, my commercial insurance rates have gone up by 100%. Wow, was that a surprise! California is experiencing massive insurance claims due to massive wild fires throughout our state. Unfortunately this state is in a state of emergency and declining rapidly. My insurance company packed up and left California and left its policy holders to shop elsewhere for insurance. It’s horrific ! To be honest, really wanted your boat but truth is, not going to happen. I have watched every video of yours and learned so much about fixing boats. I’m a pencil pusher, not really handy but I think one just must like to repair. Whoever gets your boat is one lucky fellow. I bet it’s sold already. I just love the 381 model. We have a lot in our area. Mostly sit at the docks as weekend condos. It’s very difficult to find one in such pristine condition. Well, life is full of challenges. I will miss your videos and enjoyed your closeness to your dad. We will survive in California but our leadership really needs major changes. My best to you & your family. .

Not sold yet...price has been corrected (went out too high), so hopefully we get some inquiries, but I'm still on board! Oh, and the channel isn't going anywhere, I'll still be putting out content when I can over the winter, and will be back at weekly videos when the new season comes around.

Thanks for the video Chad. Question, if you had to name one feature of a Chris Cruiser you liked over a SeaRay or Chaperral what would it be (29-30ft)?

Features so similar in that size range...so not sure how to answer that question specifically. But I will say that Chris-Craft build quality is superior to either mark mentioned.

My opinion the designers of Chris Craft boats did take into consideration the fact that things on a boat do break, wear out and have to be replaced on occasion, so they put some thought into how things on the boat can be reached when they need to be worked on. Many of the boat builders nowadays are not concerned about that and they will put things inside the boat that are impossible work on without tearing the boat apart. Both Searay and Chaparall make a good quality boat. However, you probably really need to pay attention to how things are packed into very tight spaces on any Searay that you look at.

Worse things about living full time on a boat. Not having a garage and hauling groceries from the parking lot down the dock to your boat. Also not having a back yard for your dog.
