White's Electronics provided me with their new MX Sport. I wanted to see how I would do metal detecting with it in heavy iron at a Colonial cellar hole.
Great to see a new video. I found the exact same three hole item and was curious what it was. Great finds that bracelet is awesome. Looking forward to the next video. HH
Excellent video. I won an MX-Sport in a contest but haven't tried it out yet...may have to wait till spring now. I think it's going to be a very good machine from what I've seen. I like the option that you can set the volume for rejected targets. Thanks for the video and am looking forward to your next one. HH & GL
Congrats on all your nice finds! As for your falsing issue that has been an issue on all the detectors that I have used over the past 40 years. It is not a new issue, but sure would like to find a fix for it. I currently am using the Whites DFX, but also have the XLT, a 2nd DFX, and a TDI-SL as my back up detectors. I wish you a fantastic 2017 and hope that you have the Whites 2017 Calendar, (I am Mr. October)! I look forward to watching more of your videos and hearing your assessment of the MX-Sport as that is my targeted next detector! ;-)
THing4CSA grats Mr October, I don't have the falsing issue on the mxt pro but did when i used some coils in the past. i think it has to do with specific coils. Thanks for the support and good luck to you
Yes I must agree with you in that it is the coils that cause the falsing issue. I have also heard it from other TH'ers regardless as to the brand of detector they used. ;-)
Very cool! Would be interesting to see the Pro now go over what the Sport scanned...but as you alluded to, some of these machines are not just "plug &play"; as I have recently found out the hard way...earning stripes...lol Great stuff as always !
I've been surprised at some finds with my MX Sport in a fairly old local park. I went down in the Spring figuring that I would try my new instrument but also figured the place had been hunted out long ago. (It is in a busy area and well known.) To my surprise I found an 1862 Indian Head. SInce then I've found a lot of WWII era coins, some interesting tokens, three or four other Indians, and an 1858 Eagle Cent. I'm not even real great at detecting but am learning.
I've been using the MX Sport for about a month now and found that water and dirt find their way into the coil cover from searching the morning dew covered grass. It seems like that's when I get the most false signals. I can tell it's going to take some time before I truly understand the MX Sport like I do the black box machines. It definitely runs hotter and deeper than my M6 and Mxt but seems a bit unstable when the sensitivity is set above (5). This is with the stock 10" double D coil of course, hopefully White's will have the 4x6 available for it. Nice video and happy hunting to you!
Excellent video! I am thinking about the MX Sport I'm a little concerned about the over weight of the machine and the false signals you are getting when you hit a stick or branch. What do you think.
Try the Hi trash program. Runs quieter in those trashy spots and picks out the higher conductive targets well. I agree with not running coin and jewelry. Too quiet. Relic mode is too noisy
azmetaldetector it is a bit noisy but all metal programs gives you access to the SAT setting which i like a lot. high trash discriminates to much for my hunting preference
thats interesting I am thinking of getting the mxt all pro and my dealer here says that it doesnt but to tell you the truth I don't think my dealer knows jack LOL I trust you over him so I might have to rethink this a little
