MXR has once again partnered with notable Italian pedal designer Carlo Sorasio to bring you this versatile overdrive pedal. The easy-to-use control complement of Level, Tone, and Drive access everything from smooth breakup to thick, harmonically rich drive. To change the feel of the pedal, you simply hit the Hi/Lo switch to change between symmetrical and asymmetrical drive characters.

Love this pedal. Only really run with middle switch but its been my #1 for about 5years!!

MXR pedals rock in my humble opinion I've been playing for 40 plus years and I'm a gear geek sad as it is but that's my passion and with so many products on the market now it fries your brain and empties your pockets but price wise go cant go wrong with MXR pedals they have all you need to build the sweetest of boards and no I'm not employed by them just a fan

I'm feeling some not-so-subtle Fulltone flavor in the clipping arrangement and sounds here. Like an OCD with the FD-3's clipping options. I LIKE IT.

Now MXR just needs to make a double pedal that stacks, which to my knowledge they don't currently. An Il Diavolo and Il Torino in one box. Stack, swap order, and decide whether the Torino is a boost or OD, and whether you want LED, Silicon, or op amp clipping from the Diavolo side.

Carlo Sorasio do you recommend using a boost before the pedal (using low gain for rhythm) to get more gain and compression for lead? Edit: Thinking of buying a fender style clean amp and really want to be able to get clean - crunch - lead tones

I have the Il Torino, would it be redundant to also use this pedal? My thought is to use Il Torino as an always-on low gain drive for a slightly gritty rhythm sound, then kick this on for a heavier lead tone. Would these two pedals work well together when stacked?

I wonder that too. Also I'm adding there the MXR 5150 Overdrive for High Gain stuff. I just want to get one, not two or three very similar pedals.

Man, i'm thinking of buying a Il Torino as well, to stack with a TS 9. I was looking for this to use as a always on pedal and then, I kick the tube screamer for more sound. Do you think that would work? I play blues (SRV, Hendrix), and i like to play with the volume knob of the guitar. Greetings from Brazil!

Hi I just got this pedal and whenever I turn it on with my vox wah pedal certain frets screech something awful. Especially on the second fret of the G. Any help would be great. Thank you!

This is probably the Il Torino pedal with a new name. I can't past the stupid name. I should have purchased the Torino when it came out.

No man! I have the Il torino OD and this il diavolo drive has more options! It goes further where the il torino stops, so I'm about to buy this one as well to stack them eventually
