Wow really? I heard good things about these reels so I'm hoping to have a different experience. Unfortunately, those beautiful Accurate Valiant's were not in the budget for me. One day though
I bought one of those rails last year it lasted like three hours and I never got to use it I trace pulling it and it fell apart on me maybe it was just a defect but it just ruined it for me I hope yours is OK let me know thanks
Oh no that sounds horrible! Was it a Goofish slow-pitch rod? Did you contact them? I'm sure they would've made things right. I still have yet to catch a fish on slow-pitch but have fished it a bunch of times and its been fine! I have 2 of them now
I just finished building myself my first slow pitch rod and I spiraled the guides to the right. Oops. Lol I really haven't heard anything convincing that it actually matters.
I've heard all sorts of theories on which way the spiral should go. So many different opinions that I personally think it is inconsequential which way you wrap it
I bought the same reel early last year. Prettiest thing ever . Spooled it with 30lb braid. The line slipped through the space between the spool and the frame and into some gearing. I removed the side plate to get it out and must have messed up something else when i reassembled it. Now useless. Hope your luck is better. Enjoy.
@@LivinSalty no. I think that since i messed up and prob voided any warranty that i should bring it to a “reel guy” near me. Well, i haven’t done that either. Procrastinator.
Hey I hear ya, we are all busy now-a-days haha. I think it would be worth it though to shoot Gomexus an email. Ask for advise on how to fix it and get back together, I agree I don't think there would be any warranty with it anymore. Not sure though, but worth a shot! Ya never know until you ask!
Mines never been like that, and my drag works just fine. I would contact gomexus, sounds like you might’ve gotten a defective reel. Sorry to hear that!
The reason for this is so you can level your line as you reel in by just pushing the line over with your thumb . As you crank, the wrap of the rod should pull the line back to the side it spirals to.if it's built correctly the first guide should be a couple degrees off center to facilitate this
Great Topic! I just subbed! I just started Slow Pitch Jigging recently and I have caught some new species. I am a multispecies angler and also have a RU-vid fishing channel.
unfortunately, I have tried slow-pitch jigging many times and still have yet to catch a fish using it :( Rod so far is holding up fine, but again, it hasn't seen any fish so it really hasn't been put to the test.
i hope your combo is holding up. personally i would go for some other brands, especially the rod. a little more expensive but also more reliable. i have heard not great reviews with the gofish. but i hope i works for you
I also have a goofish fishing rod, I combined it with an Ocean Jigger. This rod is very popular in Asia. but if you use it for jigging for a long time, it will drain your energy cuz solid blank must be heavy for jigging. Choose torayca blank fishing rod, like piratez slower if you like asia fishing rod. This rod more lighter, nice tone and you can jigging all day. 😁
No, we have a same rod. I know that goofish fishing rod are light. just try pirates strike slower if you want to. You might be surprised like me. Besides being very light, this fishing rod also has a good tone and strong lifting power. I just want to share my experience bro. 👌🙏
