you talking about you're layered sensory deprivation tank system is so real as a fellow neurodivergent author!! my current WIP: is a enemies to lovers, flower farm witch x new to town nursery owner. so basically paranormal early 2000's romcom lmao
ok that sounds amazing?! obviously i haven't read it but it *almost* reminds me a bit of practical magic, which is one of my favorite books (: yeah, i feel like i need to drown out all my senses to be able to focus lmfao thank you so so much for watching and I wish you all the best on your project. keep me posted (:
@@beccatobar I want to say practical magic is one of my inspos but i have yet to read it!! I read the prequal tho (not intenitonally and when I was too young to read it)???? but yes the vibes are similar hahaha! drowing out everyting in order to focus is so real of you lol thanks for such a great video
@@PersephoneQuill you should totally read it during the fall. that's when i read it and it was just so magical (pardon the pun lol) let me know if you end up picking it up!
your video is like a comfy hug. i am working on my first project in years (currently 20k words in) and seeing your process and passion is super encouraging. ❤
that is the kindest compliment i think i've ever received! oh my goodness, thank you! i'm so glad you enjoyed it. also, congrats on 20k! that's huge. i wish you all the best of luck on your writing journey and hope you'll share more as you keep going💌
Finding SO much comfort in hearing someone else call out their needs (sensory etc) that are mine as well! It can get frustrating feeling like you're the only one with needs that others don't/can't understand. Last year I asked my husband for headphones for Christmas and they (along with an electric kettle) are now a necessity when writing. Even if I'm not playing lofi music in background just having them on now sets my mind into a more focused state. Thanks for putting it out there
I only recently recognized my sensory issues! for years i've been getting so angry or overwhelmed in public/loud spaces and couldn't understand why! while i don't wear my headphones out in public, understanding my sensory needs when i'm writing/working has been huge! i feel like i can finally focus!! i'm so glad this resonated with you 🥹🤍
Thank you for this video ❤ I’ve only recently processed, despite knowing, that writing is required for visual projects after getting frustrated and giving up on fiction writing to get as good as possible at essays and it is so overwhelming deconstructing that. also you are so pretty!
We love the girls, gays, and theys! love your desk set up! It's so clean and minimal! I am the same way as far as my outlining goes. I literally just have a bullet point list of all the plot points I want to hit and as I wrote my first draft, I just broke the chapters where it felt the most natural. I did my first read through this past weekend, and I plan to start implementing those edits this week! Best of luck to you in your next draft! :)
@@beccatobar Yay! I actually forgot that I have a social commitment (gross) on the day of the stream, which would mean I could only stream for an hour. So it has now been moved to Friday! Hope you can still make it!
Literally the most relatable writing process I’ve come across. 🙏 Thank you for speaking your truth. (I don’t use such technical terms, but VERY similar processes (first time in forever))
I am also somewhere in between planner and pantser. I also create the beat sheet. I am actually making one for my wip while watching this. I like creating a larger outline after the first/zero draft.
its amazing how similar my process is to yours!! this video was so helpful so i'd like to pay it back in a way by HIGHLY recommending Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (on Steam only) or LifeAt (everywhere, i believe). They have all the audio things you were describing and more. Spirit city is my fave because it has timer, to-do list, habit tracker, journal, cute little pets as rewards, music, and many sound and visual ambience customization options, it's been a life changer for me!
that sounds amazing!? i'm totally going to check it out. i feel like that would be super helpful for my homework sessions too. thank you so much for watching!
im so jealous of how clean and organized and pretty your desk is!! i love that minimalist aesthetic but i could never achieve it bc im a hoarder and my desk is a huge cluttered mess lmao 😭
i definitely tidied it for this video ! lmao it's a mess currently bc i'm in the final stretch for my capstone class and it is littered with notebooks and academic articles lmao but she's pretty when she's clean (:
My writing process varies from project to project. My current WIP is a pantsed zero draft and the one I plan on writing after this is already outlined scene by scene lol 😅 BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME, your workspace is gorgeous omg 😍 It's so minimalist and aesthetic!
OMG STOP! thank you (: also, that's so valid. i feel like trying to narrow down every project to follow the exact same steps is really restrictive. writing is a really intuitive process. there's so much trial and error. good luck on your project!! i hope it's going smoothly 🤍
Chewie, I haven’t been on RU-vid for a long time and it’s so good to see you!!! I hope everything is well.🤎 Writing is such a dedicated art and I admire you for doing this and also taking the time to share the process with us! Sending love and support from Hong Kong xx
amy!! i just saw you posted and it made me so happy!! i love your travel vlogs. It's so good to hear from you (: sending you so so much love. I can't wait to see more videos from you 🤍
