Hi Thomas 👋 I wanted to Thank you for the great info and inspiration. 8 months ago after years of depression I weighed 495 lbs. I have fasted almost every day. Most of the days were over 20 hrs. I also worked out 4 days a week at least 45 mins each time. Doing 20 min of cardio and weight lifting 💪 Now 8 months later following alot of your teachings I'm down to 397 lbs and lifting much heavier weights and 40 minutes of cardio. Can't tell ya how proud I am of myself and really appreciate you and your info. Thanks!👊

I'm proud of you, I hope all is still going well, You got this... I was 450 and have lost 170 pounds or 77 Kgs in like 15 months, I had to stop for 4 months December 21, and have a slight tear of quadricep, count the calories you eat, stick to the program... We both got this. Keep it up ❤❤💪💪

I've recently lost 92 pounds in 9 months with intermittent fasting, keto and carnivore with daily collagen in my coffee too. My skin looks amazing! I made sure to hit my protein goals so I wouldn't lose my lean muscle - only the fat! I honestly think the intermittent fasting was key in keeping my skin looking like I never gained the weight. Great video and I'm a HUGE fan!

Hey Thomas! I watched my first video of yours in March 2020 (“this is my 100 lbs….transformation”). I was 302 lbs and miserable. Now, after a year and a half of intermittent fasting, a diet overhaul and exercise I’ve officially lost 103 lbs! For the first time since 8th grade I’m under 200 lbs! Thank you for everything you do! Your videos have really helped change my life!

I've had severe health anxiety ever since I went into hospital for High Blood Pressure.I am obese and I started doing 24 to 48 hours fasting weekly depending on my mode. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I have lost 39 lbs(18kg) in about 2 and the half months. People are asking me if I am sick and it is depressing me and making my health anxiety worst with the feeling something is wrong and that's why i am losing much weight at a fast pace even thou i know I am putting in the work. I am still obese and want to lost more weight but the comments I am getting about being sick is discouraging me to continue and making my anxiety worst,when it was getting better.

He also seems to be very prepared. I've read a lot of BS from "dieting gurus" and what he said actually has solid scientific basis behind it, instead. Fasting induced autophagy is a well documented phenomenon.

@@DaddyOKaboom I personally think it depends on the person. If you have loose skin as a fat person and look more flabby I think it will be harder. Some people just looked more like a stuffed sasuage and their skin is tight and I think they will have less problem. JMO. Might be totally wrong on that.

I'm a 350 lb 50 year old man (who because of my weight is constantly misgendered), and this is my second attempt at Keto, the first time I had a dramatic weight loss then returned to my old habits. However, I soon noticed my belly fat growing and face swelling, so I got back on the wagon. Anyway, I just wanted you to know what an inspiration you are, because otherwise I was on cruise control for liver disease, full blown diabetes, and heart failure. Additionally, my next steps will be to stop smoking (I know, I'm a train wreck) but you know, not quite baby steps anymore, plus you came recommended and I just wanted to let know your videos are a big help and a huge blessing.

Thyroid disease can cause dark circles as well..and fasting can help reverse it

Thomas, I really appreciate you brother. I tell everyone about you all the time. You have been a tremendous help for me during my journey. I have lost 80 lbs in 5 months. I went from 250 to 170. I eat ultra low carb, OMAD, and every couple of weeks, I do a 3 day fast. I am 48 hrs into a 3 day fast right now. It is probably a little over 80 lbs since I haven't eaten anything today. All of my inflammation is gone, and I feel great! I am 48 years old and my metabolic age was 54 (at 47) when I started and is 43 now. My beard hair is even getting darker. It was solid white. I didn't even know that was possible.

I am on 'hour 45' of my first 48-hour fast - only water, white tea and black coffee. Never before in my life did I go for 1 day without food and, amazingly, I do not feel hungry and I even exercised this morning and it was good. I've been doing OMAD every day for the past 3 weeks and I am thinking of doing 2-3 day fasts once a month. Likely to try my 3-day fast in January.

Man can be happy to loose 100 lbs and not be concerned about loose skin and or stretch marks till it actually happens. Either natural weight loss or gastric surgery for sure loose skin is going to happen. Thank you for all these products and food suggestions to help with loose skin results. I lost 45 lbs before gastric sleeve and now lost 45 more lbs. In 3 months after surgery. I recorded all my measurements at beginning of my diet with intermittent fasting. And i did my measurements day before the sleeve surgery and now 3 months after surgery. Have not been able to intermittent fast these past 3 months and i can tell the 45 lbs weight loss in that time left me with loose old looking skin. I am 67 years old and fill 30 years old but look 80 years old. Planning to start the intermittent fasting up again and resistance exercises to help slow up muscle loss and revitalize my skin again. If i did not do intermittent fasting before the sleeve surgery i can't imagine how bad my skin would be now. 100 lb weight loss gave me 15 less inches on my waist 12 less inches on my neck. 6 less inches on each of my biceps and 6 less inches on each thigh. Plus 6 less inches on my chest. No more insulin or blood pressure and cardiac meds. Testosterone returned and i can actually see willy when i go pee!!

Awesome advice! Have lost 44 pounds & have around 40+ more to lose. Have been fasting 24hrs 1x/week past 3 wks. Fast daily around 15-17hrs. Also stay moisturized & drink lots of fluids. Didn't know quite a bit of this. 🙂

I wish RU-vid was a thing 20+ years ago. In mid 95 I lost over 100 lbs in about 9 months to join the Marines and the loose skin has plagued me ever since. All I did back then (due to lack of knowledge) was change my diet to lower fat, joined a gym and lifted weights and did cardio. While it got me in great shape for boot camp, it left me with loose skin. I'm now 43 and I'm going to apply what your video suggests. Keep up the great work and thanks for your advice!

Thanks for the videos, helps me get back on track. I was a large child but by 26 I had lost 105 pounds. I carried a reasonable weight my entire life until about four years ago, and I always knew there would be a "second coming" of the weight battle sometime in life. I'm back at it and watching videos like this and many others daily, helps keep me "mostly" - if not always..on track for a new future.

@@lexig6207 yes, so it's not a traditional fast where you don't eat or drink anything but it's a water fast, so you can consume fluids that done have any natural or artificial sweeteners

Thanks for this video I also lost 100 Lbs in my first year at the end of 2016 so simple to keep it off with Keto and OMAD plus some longer periods of IF.. I will be this Jan at 4 years and I've lost 80% of my loose skin and still getting better BTW I'm a few month from 59 YO I've had tons of people that see me annually do to my business tell me they cant believe how much younger I'm looking every time they see me I'll take all the science on making me look younger I can get thanks Thomas

@@oaedeoi hey sounds like your on track so stay the course I'm not a macro counter I look at my portions and count the fat grams and proteins try to stay real close to 80% fat 15 proteins and 5% carbs mostly from vegetables. I do OMAD every day BUT! on 3 or 4 days a week I put a Tbls of MCT oil in my coffee some times grass fed butter or HWC also with Cocoa powder..Dont worry about the loose skin if you make it a life style it will improve as a constant change Hitts and IF are your friends but I dont abuse it to the point of discomfort

@@reeljour884 the longest fast I have done is 54 hours but never like the outcome so my norm is 22 hours 3 or 4 days a week and the rest of the time I have bullet coffee ( Coffee with Talo, Cocoa powder, and a few drops of stevia .. BTW I'm now 61YO I'm 2 months into Carnivore and love it

Thomas, thank you, your channel is gold. I'm a 55 yo female who started getting the menospread around the middle ,and starting to sag everywhere. I mean everything was falling south! I started fasting 16 to 19 hrs. I lost 10lbs within 2 weeks. I was also doing some light resistance trainingwith bands and walking. (BTW I hate working out) I added 1000 mg of Vitamin C along with my collegen building protein from Sunwarrior, just get this stuff! In reference to the extra skin, I started using organic cold pressed castor oil on my saggy areas and face. Wow big difference wrinkles, dimples and toned look. I swear I'm reverse aging !

this is inspiring. a massage therapist tore my collagen apart. a big strong man went way too hard and i thought it was supposed to be like that but it hurt so bad. i had tight skin and now it sags! i hope these tips help

This came at a perfect time because I’m fasting except on training days once a week for a month. I thought I could just take the collagen.. I have a multivitamin BUT I don’t use it consistently. Now I know to be more intentional with Vitamin C and ellagic acid. I guess I’ll also be buying witch hazel.

i found if lost fat to quickly i would get baggy skin. so i slowed my weight loss down to 1 pound to 2 pound a week, to give my skin a chance to titen up , alternate day fasting helped love your channel thanks

Loved this video. This is good info that I wasn't aware of, and I follow a lot of health advocates, magazines, websites. I love the deep dive stuff. I myself have lost a lot of weight and want to fix some of the loose skin I have. Hopefully it's not to late, thanks.

Thank you SO much for this, Thomas. Due to IF and following a lot of your advice, I've shed most of my excess weight and am becoming quite fit (still going strong.) People say if you lose a lot of weight, you'll have loose skin. But if you look at pictures of people who're starving, none of them have loose skin, at least as far as I can see - and I've really looked. That can't be a coincidence.

I dont know ... i did whole foods keto for 11 months did 16/8 fasting daily sometimes longer i lost 35 pounds and still had lose skin ... ate berries daily drank green tea ect might work for some but didnt for me... i am now weight training eating a whole foods diet whole good carbs nothing processed and have kept the wieght off the weight training is really helping with lose skin... i still fast ect... good luck to everyone!!! ❤🥰💯

@wnc817 Sorry. I don't have a bitter bone in my body. I'm just blunt, too blunt sometimes I guess, and I don't like to go step by step explaining my assertions. That's just my opinion, which I'm entitled to have. Thomas would probably say, "So does the other guy" and I agree. I just won't be following him. I'm sticking with Thomas, Dr. Ekberg, and those guys who mostly agree with the keto diet. Following it has kept me off all medications for everything, and feeling positive. I've never felt better.

Just a plain moisturizer won't help skin elasticity. It only improves the look of the outer layer of skin, which is made of dead cells anyway. Now some serums and special moisturizers may help improve elasticity over time, but most don't have ingredients that penetrate that deeply.

72lbs down since the end of May. Was curious about this as I have the loose skin/stretch marks still. Don't care as much about the stretch marks as I view it as a badge of honor. Loose skin is annoying tho

Same there, down 100 LBS and loose skin is a problem. Already doing OMAD but I think I need to start doing 72 hour fasts maybe once a month. But these are good kind of problems to have.

Look into dermarolling (also known as microneedling). You puncture the skin with a roller of needles (sounds barbaric, I know), and it creates microwounds in the skin. The body rushes to heal it, and it stimulates massive collagen production. Works well on scars too (helped me reduce the appearance of my acne scars).

Congrats on you weight loss! Almond or argan oil might help with those stretch marks 👍 Some people like Bio-Oil too but I prefer a 100% natural product. If works better if you apply it while you're losing weight but it's worth a try 😉

My stretch marks have never phased me, but after losing 136 pounds, Oh body I got some loose meat! lol I use coconut oil on my skin after every shower though, I just got some collagen peptides, Now I want some more witch hazel. I didnt know this!

Fasting isn't so hard if you're on a keto diet for a few months. Your body needs to get used to burning fat efficiently as a fuel. Starting fasting, while on a high carb diet, will be very difficult because you'll be very hungry. You're not that hungry at all when you're on a low carb diet, so fasting is much, much easier.

I want to lose weight as fast as anyone else but using your tips on collagen and losing it slow and steady may be the right way to lose. It will give the skin time to tighten up as the fat slowly gets metabolized. Thanks for all you do for us.

Such physical transformations are possible when you are young. As you get older, especially after 50, it is virtually impossible to tighten loose skin and shed stretch marks.

This video really helped me! I was really feeling like maybe I should keep on the weight since I have had it for almost 10 years always been scared of loose skin. I got the courage to try and I just finished a 72 he fast and started immediately after with 20:4 intermittent fasting. I am 15lbs down and seeing stretch Marks and a little looseness in my inner thighs and was freaking out!! I specialize in Epilepsy Monitoring (we admit patient's into the hospital to capture and characterize seizures then come up with a recommendation for better seizure control), and a good amount of our patients are put on Ketogenic diet therapies, depending on the type of epilepsy they have.. I recently found out that some brands of topical things, like lotions and soaps actually have carbs in them as well! Not sure how important this is for doing Keto for weight loss, but of course we'd be cautious about it for our purposes in epilepsy. Just thought I'd share, because I thought it was super interesting!

I am an ex- epilepsy sufferer and I found the keto perfect as the high fat feeds the brain. Our brains are 60% fat and need us to keep the levels up. Cannabis oil actually stopped the seizures initially and both have kept me free from epilepsy for 25 years!

A lot of people have stretch marks, who have never been obese. Men usually on the shoulders and buttocks. Women usually on the hips and breasts. Loose skin though, is a health issue. A lot of it can cause infections and breakdown. If you've had a lot of infections related to loose skin, your insurance (if you have a decent carrier and policy) will pay for skin reduction surgery. Check it out.

One big question I have: I'm in the process of losing 70 lbs, but when I read about the effects of intermittent fasting to prevent loose skin, it's always in periods of 24, 36 hours or more. Would a daily fast of 16 hours have any impact on preventing loosing skin during the weight loss process? Hugs from Brazil!

I've been intermittent fasting for over a year now and my lower stomach "flap" (from C-section) has gotten so much smaller. I usually fast 18 hours. Started 48 hour fasts this year to bump up the HGH. Truly amazing what fasting does to the body!

@@AlisonSCL Start slow. If you try to go longer hours that may add stress to your body. The way I'm fasting has worked for my skin so I'm content with my 18 hours. Fasting, period, is beneficial so once you start, you're on your way :) -- BUT, fasting alone isn't the key. Nutrition is a huge factor in tightening up the skin. If a person keeps eating sugar, high starches etc, those foods break down collagen which the skin needs for this is a lifestyle change to bring better optimal health. Once you get into the 16 hour fasts and your body is used to it, then you can bump up to longer ones. Mix it up. Please do research on coming out of a long fast. How much to eat, etc. Very important! Lots of info on RU-vid.

Also, when it comes to fasting for over 18 hours, I fail to understand how to continue my UC meds, which are quite strong and have to be taken after food. I wish all these tools were available when I was younger. It is hard to follow such golden advice with all the underlying health issues and all the horrible medicines that I need to take.

Most simple olive oil soaps are wonderful. Alepo is the best IMO . Weleda make excellent clean moisturizers. The best moisuriser for me has been organic coconut oil.

if you never build up enough tollarance to fasting you will never be able to go days without eating for longer fasts. u have to start somewhere. I can go 26 hrs a day fasting. I do it most every day. if im not omad & break fast early in the day I do 2mad. but ive done this every day for 6 months. I used to feel 18 hrs was hard. now its easy. this should allow me to build up to longer fasts so someday I can get to 2 day fast class.

In my part of the world, which is mostly desert area, we don't get berries, avacados, wild salmon, fresh fish, olives, pure olive oil, kale, broccoli, zuccini, celery, baby carrots, limes, and many other such food items you keep talking about. Intermittent fasting is not an issue but following Meri or Mediterranean diet sure is rather difficult for people like us. Any suggestions?
