Several have asked for Polly's info. If you are in the Minneapolis Metro area I can highly recommend Polly. She is an RN with 17 years of Botox and Filler experience. She works at Skin Artisans at Edina Plastic Surgery. 952-767-3163 As far as cost…it is extremely variable city to city and state to state. They usually charge per unit of Botox and treatment is very individualized in terms of area treated and frequency. I spend about $300 every 6 months for fairly light Botox.
I'm looking for a person that does the lower face and neck.. hw many units do or did u use for ur jowl area because mine r starting to show and need to get mine done n ur face looks FANTASTIC!!
@@marieJennell I believe jowls would be treated with fillers, not Botox. Retin- a may be helpful as well. I don’t use any as I’m taking the natural route! Botox isn’t used for sagging or to fill in the face. Hope this helps!

This is the way botox should be done. She looks her age, extremely pretty and natural. I'm 24 and I swear some young people in their 20s getting botox (and fillers) look like whole different people. I can't imagine what my generation is going to look like in 20 years.
@@lynncrf I don't think it necessarily makes people look older. I just think they're going to the wrong surgeons/cosmetologist because they are allowing their patients to overdo it on the treatments as well as applying it in areas that probably don't even need it. Botox is great to prevent wrinkles and many people start as early as their middle/late 20s. I think those people are just doing it to fit the instagram-face standard and, instead of enhancing their own beauty, they're accommodating their faces to said standard.
@@neldormiveglia1312 I read an article where a cosmetic surgeon said that cheek fillers and too much Botox can pull the skin too much, which is what causes more wrinkles. So you are right: it's all about having a skilled and trained technician.
I am almost 72, acceptance is everything. Do the best with what you have. A little Botox if well done has never killed anyone. In Europe, we use less work on our faces. Élégance, a bit of make up, good food, a little social life with good friends and fresh air that is the most important things to stay younger and health is also a question of luck no matter what you do! You look very gracious and I did you soup and we loved it
Botox makes look better only, but not younger. Age is not about wrinkles. Age is about : - sound and vibration of the voice - the speed of reactions - the energy in the eyes - vocabulary - mood - level of sense of humor - the way of walk and sit etc.
Sushmita: re- Age is about... totally agree with you on all those points - posture, voice control and speaking with a smile in your voice adds to the aura of how you carry yourself, hence botox puts the "cherry on top" ❣
I dont think i’ve ever seen botox look THIS graceful, and that is meant as a compliment! i can really tell how well your features are working with the injections + big round of applause to your doc/cosmetologist 💪🏽 You’re gorgeous ma’am! ❤️
It really does work if you have some one that knows what to they are doing. It's critical. I know because I've been doing for 15 years thus creating a fresh look with out overdoing it. All the best ladies!!🙏💖
“Aging is a privilege, the other option (dead) is not attractive!” I’ve heard this quote somewhere (perhaps from Dr Idriss on youtube), it reminds me to be grateful.
That's what I started saying after my second cancer diagnosis. When people say "ohh we're getting so old". I absolutely hate that! Be glad. End of story
lol I find none of the 2 options attractive. Both are inevitable and the "choice" is more than limited. Either you deteriorate to end up dead anyway or you die, that's it! Not a great inspiring situation! It will lead anyway to death in any cases. It depends how long you want to prolong the deterioration in order to delay the inevitable. I remember the end of one of Lafontaine's fables "better suffering than dying, this is men's "fate"" (not sure how to translate the last word, fate is not right but it gives you the idea!).
I can't believe my luck - we have ladies in their 60s making RU-vid videos sharing invaluable advice with us whilst we're just sitting around laying in bed comparing botox treatments and figuring out what we want... I am considering gummy smile botox and I remember 10 years ago these sort of videos wouldn't exist... at least not honest reviews from very experienced users who always did the right thing and want to be generous and share with the whole world so that the world is a better place and girls don't have to waste their money getting upsold... So grateful for these insightful videos and immediately subscribed, what a great role model and definitely someone I look up to and can go to to navigate aging process...
I am 32 and I get light Botox here and there. I get crows feet and lip lift. The changes are subtle and maintains my youth. Working, cooking, cleaning and taking care of kids /husband is not easy. So anything that keeps me looking softer is a plus!
I'm 32 and just started Botox! Not married and no kids, but my particular line of work is extremely stressful (I'm admittedly one of those "married to the job" types haha). So far I like it, and I also started out with light injections. If you see this, how often do you get yours?
Whatever people ! Each to his own. Why not cover up signs of aging that we can. Learn teach yourself go to classes Drs have right here on RU-vid. Smoker lines are not from smoking lol! Why then do men not get smoker lines 😳Right its now called a barcode .You can do acid peels and micro needling and put healthy peptides and serums that cause collagen production and elasticity. Please do it yourself it’s nvery rewarding . And you control everything.
It makes me sad reading some of the comments in here. So many of us women are terrified of ageing when we should not be. I also used to dread getting older and it started as early as 8 years old. I was already doing face masks, using my mom’s creams, doing DIY anti-ageing masks. I have always been super self-conscious about getting older. Then around 25, I started relaxing a little. I mean, it‘s a scary phase because you’re getting closer to 30 and then I realised: well, Whats so wrong about turning 30? 30 is still HOT. It’s not old. And I truly believe that 40 is also still hot, as long as you have maintained yourself physically with exercising and have lived a healthy lifestyle. I realised that this fear of turning 30 mostly came from hearing random (and stupid) men saying that women hit the wall at 30. That we are not desirable from then on. That we are grandmas at that age. Then I paused and looked around me and realised that most of the women from my entourage in their 30s don’t look any different than my 25 year old friends. I realized that the 30 year old women I know still get hit on by both younger and older men. That they are still completely functional and that nothing have changed. Sure, our biological clock is ticking but except from that, most women in their 30s don’t look much different than women in their 20s. At least not where I am from. I am lucky to have pretty good genes that make me look younger than I am. However, I am more than my age and my physical appearance. If we fear ageing, we prove those misogynistic men right. It starts with us. Let’s not be scared of ageing. Let’s not believe in those lies meant to control us saying we age faster and worse than men. It’s not true. We age normally and we should not be embarrassed. Lots of men start going bald at 28 and gaining a beer belly at 32 so they should look in the mirror first. Bottom line is: live a healthy life, stay active, take care of your skin from a young age and give the middle finger to anyone who shames you for not being 21 anymore.
Preach it sista!! :) I just turned 30 a couple months ago.. And most people think I'm 25 or younger. As long as you nurture your inner child, the outside will more than likely reflect that ^_^ Of course, as you said, it's wise to honor one's beauty with wholesome, quality food and a balanced health routine. Korean skincare products are also a good idea! :D
People kept asking me if I was ok...I realised that the frown lines were too angry looking after years of dealing with painful diseases...lots of frowning! No one asks me now. Botox twice a year age 56yrs works for me.
I am 33 and I have deep frown lines now already and my kids ask me if I'm mad at them all the time. I think I will go see a dermatologist. Thank you for your comment!
This is exactly why I started. People asked me if I was mad. Someone said “stop frowning” (I was about 32) and I had to say I am not frowning it’s permanent. Then I got Botox. To me it was worth it because of those 11’s. I’ve been getting it over a decade now. I only have to get it about once a year now. When I first started getting it I needed it every three months. To me it’s worth it.
I’m 36 and a few years ago I noticed my laugh lines were getting deeper. I started doing a fish face and try to smile while doing that. It has really made a huge difference and my laugh lines are looking like my 14 year old’s laugh lines.

Been doing botox since turning 34 or 35 to prevent a forehead line that was starting. I'm 52 now and now forehead lines, no crow's feet, or lines between my brows to make me look angry or sad. And I'm very pleased with results. It isn't for everyone. Suits me fine.
Hi there! What an interesting video. I'm not ready for botox but someday! You know what, Tamara? I know you're a nurse and if I had to be in the hospital, your soothing presence would make the experience so much better. I bet you're the BEST nurse and mother. Thank you for joining RU-vid. ❤❤ Hugs!
I finally had my first Botox last month in my “11’s”. Not only did it help,it took away my almost nightly headaches. I will continue with Botox. And I’m 69!
Wow. I just started 6 years ago! I am very happy with it. My makeup doesn't sink into the laugh lines anymore. And I don't look worn out - which I'm not. Thank you!
I started Botox for the 11’s at 45, now at 48 I find I need it less often. I researched this, and found that relaxing the muscles actually “trains” the muscles to not be used, so that lessens the amount you need. Additionally, as the muscles are not used, they naturally atrophy and shrink, so ideally, folks should do as you are, and use less over time. I think you look amazing and I appreciate the tips! I agree that crows feet generally don’t need Botox. My provider did it one time to use up the extra product but I didn’t see the benefit and agree that it’s not necessary.
At 42, I sometimes feel that I don’t look the way I do in my memory of myself, if that makes sense. It is so hopeful to hear you talk about your growing acceptance of being and looking older. I never feel like oh that person looks older so they look bad, but I struggle to not see aging in my own appearance as a negative thing. Anyway, you are both lovely and have a lovely presence! I’m glad to have found your channel!
When people don’t recognize me, that’s when I feel aging as a negativity in my appearance. Sometimes former classmates are only interested in how old someone looks instead of being concerned how people are doing health wise. 🍭
Im 29 and im dreading 30. I’m not ready for it. I’m just thinking I’ll be in your position in 13 years…how strange must it be to look in the mirror and see your face changing so drastically. I dread the day I look in the mirror and see that first wrinkle 😔

@@MsBombastix exactly!! Societal standards need to change. I dont think it’ll happen with my generation (millenials) or gen Z but the generation after that its a possibility. Women dont turn into grandmas by 30, we need to change that backwards mindset.

I know for me, I want to be natural and not alter what aging is. My 4 granddaughters and daughters need to see that I’m happy getting older. Thanks for the video.
Yes, it’s a choice. Only they know why and I don’t mean to shame anyone. I assume everyone is natural just because of where I live and my friends at my age, 67, aren’t having it. It’s upsetting to see them talk about skincare and makeup and ways we care for ourselves and then I compare and then find out Botox, fillers, facelift has been done, and it’s a let down because of course it’s not the same in our journey to look our best naturally.
I’m 40 and seeing you gives me hope lol. You don’t ever see more aging voices walk about this. So many super young people doing it so early. You look fantastic.
I’m 31 and had my first Botox treatment about a year ago. Prior to my this I had always thought people looked their best when they didn’t try to iron out every fine line - subtle, graceful tweaks had the best results. But once I had my first treatment, it was so easy to see how people become more critical of themselves and want to erase all signs of ageing- the results were almost addictive! Your video has reset my mindset to my original goal- to look my age yet refreshed and glowing as you are the absolute poster girl for this! Beautiful results and excellent mentality towards ageing and still feeling and looking wonderful.
@@LittleMissHoop exactly. I’m almost 32 and promised myself I won’t touch Botox until 40. Even then maybe I’ll be happy and confident with my face after diligently using retinol and sunscreen 🤷🏻♀️ everyone I know seems so addicted to obliterating their wrinkles. Seems really emotionally unhealthy.
@@LittleMissHoop you have no idea what her appearance is like or her lifestyle. Not every 30 year old is wrinkle free. I held off til I was 35 but I have the crows feet of a 50 year old. So it’s not madness. Everyone has a different starting point!

I started at 22! Aha but I had forehead lines you’d normally see on women in their 40s I’ve always had a good experience! The only annoying part for me is when it’s setting in 7-10days later I get a bad headache and pressure for a day or two then it’s all good!
Im 29 and really appreciate this video. I am already feeling nervous about aging and this video made me feel so much better. I have been interested in botox but my friends are very anti-botox and want to embrace aging. But this video made me feel much better about the decision being mine, and it doesnt mean I have low self-worth or dont appreciate my body/natural aging just because I want to try botox.
I am also 29 and have always been against botox but the last few years I've been considering it. I had a poor diet choice for many years and ended up anorexic. It severely aged my face. Not all aging is natural these days, I hate when people make out like we're insecure for not wanting to look aged. I aged very quickly in the face due to the health problems I had and deeply regret my choices. It would be nice to have a bit more confidence back as I don't feel myself. I used to have quite wide eyes and loved eye shadow, due to the health issues I had my eyes are very sunken now and I can't really wear eye shadows.
it's funny because many people who are loud about being against Botox, have no problem with wrinkle creams... I'd rather spend a little money on Botox than throw away hundreds on wrinkle creams that don't work. and for what it's worth, I only get my Botox once a year. I started at 29 and I'm actually getting less now as gravity changes my face.
Nobody seems to talk about or understand that Botox does not actually stay localised as they tell you. It spreads into the central nervous system (research by Queensland university) and as it’s a deadly neurotoxin, it is highly dangerous. So many people are getting sick and have issues but don’t realise it’s from the Botox! Often it’s not the first injection that causes an issue, sometimes it takes years until you start noticing health issues or neurological problems or fatigue etc. People also don’t understand that Botox actually destroys your major neurotransmitter called Acetylcholine which is responsible for almost everything in your body, but is the main neurotransmitter for the brain and when there is a lack of it, this is associated with Dementia. There are going to be millions more causes of early onset Dementia and health problems because of how many people are using Botox without knowing the consequences. You will not easily find this info on Google because big pharma suppress it as Botox is the number one money spinner for them and they actually boast about this is speeches. I’m not sharing this to scare anyone, I just think we as consumers should be correctly informed before making these decisions. There’s a Facebook group for Botox side effects if anyone wants some accurate information
I started my Botox journey 7 years ago when I was 35. I normally get it on the sides of my eyes and around my forehead. I get the treatment every 4-6 months. Because of it, I look naturally younger than my actual age of 42, and nobody can tell I get Botox. I don’t think I want to live without it. 😊
I am going to my first appointment today. I am 69. I have watched your very helpful sharing of your experiences. So, I messaged my lady who is also careful and professional in that there is no upsell. I told her I had a relaxed muscle in my left eye and she will be taking this into account. I had not considered it before I watched your video. So, thankyou ❤
I've done minimal Botox on a regular basis.I always make sure it's kept looking natural and looking like me. You know it's been done right when someone randomly says " I don't what you are doing but you look good and refreshed" .
I’ve been getting botox/dysport/xeomin for 8 years now and LOVE it. I go every 4-6 months and my next appt. is in a few weeks. Watching your video has encouraged me to cut back a bit and see how it goes. My main concern also are the 11’s, brows and marionettes. I have always had positive results (and no one can believe I am over 61 😊 Thank you for sharing your journey. You look beautiful!! 🤍🤍
It is so important to use a PROFESSIONAL for these treatments. I receive my Botox and fillers from a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in the face, head and neck. This is all that he does. I could not imagine anyone else working on my face. He is an artist!
Botox doesn’t stop your aging process. It just paralyzes parts of your face so you don’t create wrinkles on your face …. You’ll still age, just with less dents and marks
In the long run it does help by not making the lines deep. People who use botox in their 40s, 50s, they don't get those very deep seated wrinkles which people have when they reach 60. Outer skin is kinda like paper, the more frequently you fold them, they create creases, and overtime they get deeper. Long time use of botox can help with that.
thank you for your comment... it is so sad to see people especially women addicted to plastic procedures and promoting the distortion of a natural process like aging...
I am 38 , I done forehead botox 7 months ago for the first time, and I am soooo happy I did it. it gave me lots of self confidence. I was unhappy every day watching wrinkles grow on my forehead, but then they were gone, so I felt happier every day. I will continue to do that but maybe only once a year for now.
Same age. Same thing. No regret. I had started 4 years ago and never regretted a single second. Every 7-8 month and tadaaaaaa. A refreshing process never hurts.
You are absolutely stunning 🤩 I’m 37, and I’m using Botox since November and I love it. And as you say, I told my injector: “I want to age gracefully, I don’t want to look weird”. Thank you for sharing your experience, I had doubts about Botox in the long run, but you answered so many questions already ❤️
I'm a 61y.o man and I look much younger than my age but I think *in part* it's genetics. I tried botox 18 months ago and a few years prior to that and look it's fine but I wouldn't do it more frequently than that. I find daily exercise (I love calisthenics) is the only real key to staying young both physically and aesthetically. I think you look good and as you say, it's not about more and more botox and filler it's about feeling comfortable with the fact you're getting older and thats just part of this wonderful life. 😀 Take care, Mark
You look naturally so beautiful!! I like that Botox is "minor" and preserves people's features while also delays or prevents the deep onset of wrinkles. It worked so well for you and your expressions still come through just fine.
Thank you for sharing your Botox treatment plan. You look beautiful and your skin is radiant! I’m 63 and haven’t had any type of cosmetic procedure but I will be going for an appointment next week to discuss options. I have had botox in my 11’s and to raise my eyebrows a bit for years and it has made a huge difference. I used to have deep 11’s and even when I don’t get it done on a regular basis it still looks much better then before I started. My daughter had the same thing happen to her. She went to someone different because they were offering a great deal and it ended up costing her more. They told her she needed a lot more then she normally would get. It’s just a gimmick to get you in there. You look very relaxed and natural!
Thank you, Tamara. I am 62 and spent about 5 years doing Botox and fillers in my 50’s. As I let those fade away I decided to allow my face to do its thing and use that money to buy fashionable clothes. I get so many compliments on my outfits than I ever did on my facial treatments. However, I do use surgical tape on my 11’s at night and that keeps them softened.
My mum does botox and she used tretinoins for over 25 years. These are the best things I've ever seen to look beautiful with age. I personally don't like facelifts, and looks they produce. I have hopped on Tretinoin train since I was 19, let see where it goes and will try botox when I get to 40s 😄

Just turned 40 and started my Dysport journey. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to as I age because you are absolutely gorgeous & you looks so natural!
I will be 55 next month and I have been doing botox for probably 15 yrs love it & I don't intend to stop. I get compliments by people, but I do it for myself...it is amazing how good I feel afterwards! Love watching your videos.
Wow Tamara, you look lovely! I honestly thought you were 10 years younger. I just turned 30 and I plan on getting Botox and other procedures within the next 5 to 10 years. I am always told not to do it, but to be honest I have been working since I was 16, so I have saved up more than enough to do somethings that I want to do. Thanks you also for your work at an RN, we really appreciate your hard work!
I don’t care what the people who disagree with botox say. I don’t even know why they would bother to comment about disagreeing with it. I cannot wait to start botox. I want to get a little bit of filler, too. I love looking youthful for my age and I always want to look that way. You look amazing!!
Mmm idk about filler because we now know that it doesn’t dissolve on its own, but instead can migrate throughout the face and give you an overall rounded, puffy appearance. Botox or Dysport seem relatively safe though.
@@gummy5862 agreed. Botox & fillers faulsly get put into one category, but they are not at all same. Try out Botox, no problem. But filler, be very careful AND FO YOUR RESEARCH! until this day most injectors won't tell you the long term truth about fillers. But it's coming to light more and more, what we have always suspected looking at those swollen celebraty faces. Only remember, they have the means to get the filler damage corrected by the best doctors, we don't. Even desolving the synthetic hyaluronic acid comes with its own risks, like your body's own hyaluron getting desolved along side. It's a very tricky subject with fillers. Botox on the other hand, you can try it out no problem, risks to cause any long term damage are minimal
Unless your face has lost drastic amount of fat, it's better to avoid fillers. Botox and after a centain age a neck lift goes a long way to produce beautiful looks. Eyebrow transplant is another one that really helps if people lose their eyebrows.
@@schafswiese That is incorrect information. Unless you are a doctor, please refrain from disinformation regarding the dissolving of one’s filler. It does not disrupt the body’s natural production of hylauronic acid. Dr. Anil Rajani on RU-vid addresses this exact issue at length for those who want a more fulsome discussion and peer reviewed scientific data.
@@София-д3р7д Not exactly accurate. If your face has lost a large amount of weight, no amount of filler is going to help it. The loose skin issue is best tackled with a facelift. Fillers are fine. They stimulate collagen production and in the right hands, are subtle and beautiful. You look absolutely beautiful! I'm 45 and on this journey and starting to question my botox. I love erasing the cranky signs of ageing but I think I'm coming to a point of also seeing I just want to embrace my ageing.
Great video. I started around 35 around 17 years ago for the 11s. I love the way it looks and just as importantly how it FEELS. I don’t carry as much tension in my face anymore and FEEL so much more relaxed.

This video has been quite insightful to me. I am actually 2 years older than you, and started with fillers and Botox in my early 50’s. At that point, I was using Botox as a preventive measure. My Botox journey mirrored yours, with the exception of crows feet and my neck. I have never had my neck done, but had far more units that you, in my forehead. Using a few units in my chin area, gave tremendous results. I did it as long as I could afford it, but continued religiously with fillers. Now, like you said, it seems harder and harder to keep up, as my skin continues to lose elasticity. What I deemed as a bit ‘extra’, now seems necessary. This month I am adding Botox back into my maintenance routine. I admit to liking a more ‘plastic’ look, for lack of a better word. I do not want to see fine lines on my forehead and detest marionette lines. I get mine filled annually. Thank you for giving me basic guidelines and expectations. 💙
So happy to have stumbled upon you and loved this video and your transparency with your Botox journey. I’m 55 and last week had my first ever filler experience. I just had 1ml, 1/2 in my lips and the other half in my Marriott lines which are all I focus on when I look at myself now. Very subtle change and now I have a slight upturn in the corners of my mouth, much like yours instead of a grumpy old lady expression. My injector did suggest Botox in my Marriott lines to relax the muscles and also above the arches of my brows. So I’ll be squirrelling away what I can to get that done next. I also intend to leave my forehead and crows feet as they are. It’s just my jowls and Marriott lines that I’m unhappy with. Thank you again ❤
I'm 29 y/o and I get botox every six months aswell and will continue to do so. I carry alot of tension around my eyebrows and forehead. if you get headaches alot I recommend trying botox! it helps take tension away from my eyebrows and eye area. and I love it helped with my forehead lines too!
I’m 45 and look much younger. Started dysport at 42. I also have done under eye filler twice. Tbh it’s a game changer. I look so rested and youthful and I turned my twin sister onto dysport. I’ve only had undereye or “tear trough” Filler twice. It last a year and a half for me and I get dysport every 4-5 months. It works way better than all the Lotions and potions out there and in the end you save money. People think I’m early 30s tops. It really is a game changer and worth it. I’m also talking as a person who had only one static line on my forehead when I started but it’s gone and it was so tiny. But I know women who are early 30’s who get Botox and that kinda blows my mind. But everyone ages differently and an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I just got botox for the first time at 42. She injected way too much, as I purchased it on a deal for 50 units! Wow. Now I realize what happened. I will never do my crows feet again -- it caused more deep wrinkles under my eyes!! I look tired, rather than refreshed and have to rely on my Tarte Shape tape concealer.. haha! Also, due to too much injected in my forehead, my eye hooding increased! Not the look I was going for. I love the 11's just as you do!.... but overall, I'm going to do exactly what you have done -- lower the units drastically for a more natural look as I age. Too much of a good thing is just that: too much. Live and learn! Thank you for your invaluable information!!!
You look amazing! I just turned 28 yesterday and I am starting to see little age lines on my smile and forehead. I plan on keeping it as natural as possible with sunscreen serums and facials well at least until I’m a bit older but I have been curious about Botox. I don’t plan on using any until my late 30s early 40s and this video totally confirmed my decision to wait until I am a bit older. Thank you you are gorg!
This video was so informative and I love what you stand for. I love how you use botox to enhance your natural beauty . You are radiating and I love that you're embracing you're "happy" lines and that you're finding beauty in all stages of your life. I love this video!
I'm 40 and have been doing Botox for 10 years. My dermatologist at the time said it is a great preventive measure to not allow permanent wrinkle to form (for which Botox no longer works and a filler is required). Well, my dermatologist was right because 10 years on and I don't have any fine lines except the expression ones (dynamic) which only show temporarily when my Botox wears off. I absolutely love this treatment and wouldn't go without it!
Having my 11s treated was such a revelation! I had these intense and deep "angry" lines from the age of 20 and by 36 it got to a point where I looked super angry literally all the time, and it definitely has a bad effect on your mood when every reflective surface ""greets" you with a HUGE frown! Now at 39, after 3 years of Botox I only have a faint little wrinkle (on my strong side) where my mega 11s used to be and my brow and forehead areas look more youthful than they did in my late 20s! Thank you for the info about the marionette lines, definitely going to try that next time I have my injections.
35 years old been doing botox since late 20’s. I think it really does help. No one can tell my age. People think I am in my early 20’s. I also don’t smoke or drink and I limit my sugar intake, I wear my spf even at night.
WOW you really do look so stunning!!!! You have done botox so tastefully! I am 36 now and just had my first round of botox and fillers this past Monday. I am so happy with how my results are turning out!! I would love to look graceful like you at 60!
I’m 58 and I get Botox for crow’s feet, elevens, marionette lines and lip flip. It’s all subtle and simply keeps me looking a little refreshed as opposed to the tired look I have without it. I still look my age. I’ve had fillers in the past which are amazing, but the cost is prohibitive.
Yeah the cost is no joke. I’m 37, started at 34 and I keep it really minimal, a light amount of Botox every 3 months (~$2400 a year), I’ve gotten filler twice ($1000 each time, wouldn’t do that again as there are better options now) and Sculptra once ($3000). I’m a working class person, if I saved that money instead it would be a life-changing amount by time I’m 50. But I just can’t stand watching my face deteriorate before my eyes, I’d get even more done if I could afford it, particularly threads
@@JC-yy8iv are you taking care of your skin too? Watch the Budget Dermatologist videos. I've started a routine with the best ingredients for day and night and also make up tutorials for mature skin, I'm 56, and I could see a difference within days!! Very happy. I may try Botox someday but I am also Leary.
You look really good and very natural. I'm now 45 and just had my first Botox for my 11s and I'm so happy with how natural it looks. Love this informative video.
Loved watching this! I'm 29 and not interested in getting Botox, but I have noticed that my right eye is becoming much more hooded than the left. It is making me self conscious, and it is good to know that if it becomes more dramatically asymmetrical as I age, I have nonsurgical options to boost my confidence. It's so important to feel good about how you present yourself to the world! I thought Botox was just for wrinkles, migraines and excessive sweat lol I'm glad to have learned something new :)
Hi Amanda, do you wear contact lenses on daily basis? My friend is 33 years old and one of her eye lids started to be droopy to the point of people noticing it and pointing it out. She went to an eye doctor and now she had to do a surgery for that eye droopiness because it obstructed her vision. The eye doctor told her that it is because of contact lenses which actually happens to some people wearing them for many years. My friend did a lasik surgery because the doctor said that if she has a surgery she would have to wear glasses or the eye droopiness would come back. Her surgery is scheduled for November, but me and some of her friends already noticed that her eye lid somehow does not seem as droopy as before after the lasik surgery.
Thankyou- great info!! I am about to turn 35 and was seriously thinking about getting my first botox, but hearing your starting age made me want to hold off a bit and just flow with my process. I know I want to do it one day- but this, unlike some other "influencer" videos, actually made me feel not so frantic and rushed. You look FABULOUS! I can only hope to age as beautifully, wisely, and gracefully as you
I started my Botox journey about 9 months ago now at 41. I’m glad I waited because when I look back in my mid 30’s I really didn’t have any lines, 30s is still young and you don’t know how your face is going to age until it starts aging and showing. I love the Botox I’ve had so far, I waited until the lines in my face started showing more and bothering me. Now my face looks exactly the same but without the lines. It’s given me so much confidence, I don’t mind going without make up now and a gf said to me at brunch the other day ‘you look so young’ and I didn’t have a stich of make up on. Anyway I was glad I waited until I felt ready. I’ll probably keep getting it now every 5/6 months. (I get around 35-40 units depending).
What a great video, very refreshing to hear this. I recently got my first botox done and I'm 42 years old. I got the crows feet done and I love the result. I feel more confident and happy.☺️ Thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️
Also remember that with 16 years of treatment, you have significant atrophy of the treated muscles. This is predictable. I often use the analogy of putting your arm in a cast for three to four months. It will be scrawny when the cast comes off until you exercise it again. After 20+ year of neuromodulators, my glabella is down to about 10-15 units twice a year and in my 40's it used to take the 25-30 units to knock it out every three months. You are fortunate to have found the right injector who will make the appropriate adjustments in your dose. Reassessment is key in keeping natural results. At 66, I do not look 20, but I am the best version of my happy, nurse injector, grandma self. Thank you for your informational video.
Such an informative and pleasant video! I love that you don’t do anything by your eyes-it keeps the look of a smile looking natural. Will make sure I follow that guideline. I’m 48 and will get my first treatment next week. Your video gives me great hope! You are absolutely radiant and look natural. Maybe we only notice women who have bad work done and never guess that others do have Botox because it is done well. Thank you for the inspiration!
I'm in my mid-30s and hearing your journey is also wonderful for me. I've struggled with self acceptance my whole life, so I never paid attention to my beauty and health per say. But as I age, I cherish my healthy and expression of my beauty and would like to maintain it. Either way I'm so impressed by Polly's work and its good to hear that you have accepted more parts of your aging process.
You look great ! It is refreshing to see videos of women over 50, 60 and even older taking care of themselves, physically, emotionally and mentally. I am looking into the possibility of having Botox injections in the near future. To our health and good looks ladies, whether you decide Botox or not!! Let's give to the world but most important to ourselves the best version of who we are.
Totally what I was looking for, the minimal approach and also seeing how after many years of use Botox has prevented entrenched lines. I am 30 and about to get my first Botox. Planning to get it once-twice per year. If I look anywhere near as youthful as you at 60+ I’d be delighted. I’m not bothered about maturing I just want to look good whilst doing it. You are definitely not just 10 years younger but a happy good looking 10 years younger.
I'm so glad you mentioned the under eye "shelf" that occurs when getting Botox near the eye area. I also had this experience and it made me appreciate my more natural look instead. There's something to be said about smiling with our eyes! ✨☺️
same here, my eye bags showed after I did Botox on my eye area to ease the smile lines, it makes me look older and wired. I stopped doing Botox ever since , I love smiling so be it
Did she? I can't find that video. And great skin is typical for people who use tretinoins/retinols for a long time. My mum has been using for over 25 years, her skin is amazing!!
I’ve never been interested in having Botox, but my daughters have started with that so I’m interested particularly how your Botox journey progressed. They are in their 40s, and it just hasn’t been clear to me why they would want to start with Botox already. Thanks for this frank discussion!
Very informative! I’m 37 and started botox 2 years ago. Because, like you, I started to notice signs of aging and feeling like I looked tired Or haggard. Obviously we can’t stop the process but I’m just trying to age gracefully and to see you and hear your process I really feel like I’m going in the right direction. I can only hope I look as great as you do at 61!!
My first session with Botox and fillers, I was told about a week to ten days to see effects. Well, one hour after walkng into that clinic, I went out to my car, looked into my rear view mirror, and was so shocked at what she’d done that I sat and cried with joy. This amazing young lady took 15 years off of my face in one hour! And it just kept getting better over the next month. I’ve never looked back. Botox gets rid of the angries. Your experience with that second lady was similar to mine…the second injector damned near killed me! $900 is a LOT of tox, and I couldn’t swallow that night and panicked. If you can’t swallow, you can’t breathe. I poured water down my throat to force the reflex. (She was fired by the clinic). That huge amount dried my mouth out so bad that my cheeks stuck to my teeth! I couldn’t talk! The caveat: ask people who’ve had it done who they use….but do it privately. I was carded until age 50, have no wrinkles, and didn’t need anything until age 69 for sagging skin. I do my neck, and it works for me…at age 76. I do get my brows raised, and that makes it so much easier to apply shadow. And the marionette lines are gone. (My family has that genetic angry marionette line musculature…it’s got to go!). 😬. Best thing I’ve ever done. I do get my jowls “raised”…it’s a miracle! The key to having good skin and facial muscle tone is eating whole, fresh, organic, pasture raised, regeneratively farmed food. Never eat manufactured products…that’s not food. If it comes off of an assembly line, whether it’s crackers or yoghurt, it’s NOT food. Eat fresh and whole, stay away from alcohol, which droops the face, and drink filtered water. You say that’s expensive? So are nursing homes at $8,000/month, which is the average rate right now, so you can pay to live healthy now, or pay much more later for your loss of freedom and the worst meals I’ve ever seen served anywhere. .We need good collagen peptides for our skin, joints, bones and connective tissue. Dr Joseph Mercola has among the best. I love his vanilla because it’s so versatile. You can add cocoa powder to it to make chocolate, and it tastes better than his chocolate. I don’t work for him, but have been through many brands, and his is trusted and the best so far. The Health Ranger store may have some; if so, all his products are lab verified for purity and are China free. (I LOVE HIS COCOA products!). I’ve been looking at videos by Chris Gibson and a plastic surgeon named Rajani., and have been doing face exercises. They seem to be working, especially for my neck. Derms will tell you that Retin-A is still king, and it is, but there is a new generation of it that I want to read about. I had adult onset acne caused by Mary Kay makeup years ago, and have used Retin-A off and on ever since. Tretinoin, the Rx. It’s great stuff. Best to you.
omg... why couldn't you swallow?! Does it effect the heart ? I stopped a year ago because of hearing such things .. but I I miss it I miss the smooth skin!
I've been getting botox for 20 years, since I'm 40. I get it in my glabellar lines and forehead. I used to also get it in my crowsfeet, but did not like the way it looked. On me, I thought it changed the shape of my eyes, so I stopped. I only get 20-25 units and do it for the same reasons as you. I look every bit my age; at the same time, I take care of myself, use sunblock and do not sunbathe, rarely drink, exercise, eat right, get enough sleep, etc., I do this little thing for myself and I'm very happy with it. Thanks for a great video.
I am now entering into my fifties and began to think about doing fillers for my face so this video came right at the right time! This was a great and informative video! Well done miss Tamara 😉
It’s so nice seeing people older than me on youtube. I want to learn so much from you guys! I am 38 and I hope to start maintenance of fine lines in my 40’s. You look super lovely and I hope I age as well as you even if it takes a little help. (:
Hope your day is going well over there? Thank you on your continuous prayer and support to me throughout my movies career once again thank you. Where are you reaching out from?
Wow. I would never say you are in your 60's, you look amazing❣️. My mumnis 81 has been having Botox for many years, and people think she looks about 65. I'm about to make my first appointment to have Botox, I'm really nervous but really excited. I'm in my early fifties and think it's time for a change🙏🏽💕. All the best to you from across the pond 💜
This is amazing! You are everything I aspire to be in the way you look at yourself at 61. I am 45 and started Botox early this year for the same reasons you started, I love it and love how I feel with it.
I’m 35 and have “11s” along with tension headaches in that area and it’s interesting to learn that Botox might help ease the look and the pain too. I like how you work on anti-aging but keep your natural gray. You look great! Thanks for the informative video.
I like that’s she’s kept her grey too. I think how we choose to handle our aging is such a personal choice. Some people don’t do a thing while others go all out. I’m 52 and just got my first injection of Botox in my 11’s today. I didn’t tell a soul because I didn’t want to be talked out of it like has happened in the past. I’m really happy with how it went, although the effects can’t be seen yet.
I've never had botox or fillers at almost 48 I just started using the nuface and boy does it make a difference. My face is so much tighter in just a few weeks. You look great, thanks to not overdoing it and your eyes are very cute like a bambi. The eyes are always the most important imo
Thank you. I’ve been doing Botox on and off for several years. And was starting to move into more areas, but this has made me realize which areas I really want and which I don’t care about!
for now I am very happy with botox. I only use it on my upper face and have done it 3 times. I will probably stretch my visits from every 3 months to every 4-6 months. Not planning to do bottom face at all. Once the face will droop I will do a deep plane facial surgery with fat transfer.
You are STUNNING!!! I am elated that you knew you deserved to be treated and feel comfy in your skin. Thank you for the delightfully informative video; it's always so cool to see someone "on the other side" of where a lot of people are starting off.
I love that you mentioned how botox isn't a cure-all for other skin issues that come with age. I'm 33 and not really interest in botox currently, but adding a few great products to my skincare routine has really refreshed my appearance and made me feel more youthful again (especially with 4 kids and a demanding job)!
