They are shorty headers from pace setter, no dyno run yet but using some calculators online its been estimated at 330hp based on wieght and 1\4 mile time and the G-Tech meter gave a 0-60mph in 5.3 sec
I got one of these for Christmas when I was sixteen. The body and interior were nice. But the truck was mechanically shot. Biggest piece of shit I have ever seen. I tore the engine out. The seats, mirrors and tires. the bed of the truck was perfect so I converted it into a trailer. Damn good trailer too.
@oldmanalex01 I got the wheels from summit racing, they are cragers "soft 8" model, The 5.9 magnum long block bolts right in, just transfer your intake and computer sensors, The pcm has enough in it to fuel the bigger motor with out mods, I opted for the mopar performance pcm for my year truck with 318 and it work very well.
@Revanjd Amen! This Dakota's a monster, no doubt. I hav a late '91 with a Mag 5.2 and love it! 1st gen Dakotas are the best, especially these early to mid 90's with the V8 plants.
I'm also using the HV oil pump and The steel mounts have been in place for about 5 years now with no harm to the motor, there is some more in cab vibration but knowing the motor is secure i can live with some vibration
wiring is identical , just swap out the long block everything off the 318 bolts to it, the 318 pcm will run the motor, but do recommend upgrade to the mopar performance pcm for the 318 to run the 360
Got a 360 in same make and model as your truck just one thing it does a wibble wobble when idle did yours ever do that? plus mine wants to jump out on acceleration even with new motor mounts
Ok, by wibble wobble are we talking about a slight idle surging?? If so it is a worn bronze bushing at the bottom of the distribitor in the block causes erratic timing leading to idle surge
@blueangel1980us yes discount tire can get them but that seems high unless they come with tires on them for that price, i got 6 wheels and 4 centercaps for 240 through summit racing when i bought mine
I'm using a custom build dual fan I built for mine, its a combination of a small 10'' fan i think with out measuring and a fan from an 86 buick century 4 cyl (fwd car). my combo keep engine around 180*F in summer with ac at full blast (160 thermostat)
Thats the turn signal lights/housing, get them from ebay for cheap. In fact go to ebay and search "DEPO CLR BUMPER SIGNAL LIGHTS" They are OEM, Clear, fits your truck and they are only 16 bucks for a pair.
@oellrichm nice trucks eh? Ih have one that is a 4x4 and came with a one of a kind factory paint job..its metalic olive pearlecent green...its crazy like it says it right on the dodge sticker...so its not like someone just painted it...my dad has a 1971 hemi orange and black dakota and also has a 95 4x4 5 speed like myn...we loooooveee these trucks...the interior is SO easy to customize
hey how much did you pay for your pace setters? im looking for a set for mine prefferably cheap since i intend to run dual 3's and il need to hack the 2 1/2'' collector
Wouldn't that hurt the motor cause of nothing to absorb the vibration besides harmonic balancer in the engine as for wibble wobble might help if the oil pump was working I went got Melling HV today gotta put that in otherwise its putting out about 180 plus lbs of compression
Hey bro ive talked to you before like a year ago. I wish you would put up new vids. I have 87 kota 3.9 wondering if i should rebuild it. Wish you would give me some advice and most definitly tell me where you got those sick ass tires. (how much too)
I used the ones that 318 used in that place and as for the wibble wobble Im installing torque strap and see what that does other than that everything from 318 magnum I put on 360 part of my wibble wobble problem is from oil pump its not working.......
@butkis92 In the video I have Pace Setters and they are a shorty 1 5/8'' primary tube and 2 1/2'' collector which conects to stock Y-pipe, Since then I have upgraded to Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers and they are 1 3/4'' primary tube and 2 1/2'' collector and connecto to doug thorley Y-pipe which is 2 1/2'' mandrel bend pipe. way better than stock pipe
@jaiBavet Just hit me in the PM here, I check the tube often and also have repainted the truck last week, will have a video showing it later as well as more racing vids
The grille is stock but has aftermarket mesh inserts. I got the inserts off of ebay. There is a listing currently active for it, look for item# 170331272990 .
If yours was a factory 318 you can literally just drop it in, use the long block transfer your manifolds and sensors, use the 5.9s damper, flexplate and torque converter.
da bears lol... hey Oellrichm... ive seen you all over the internet with your truck and i think its awesome.. Im from Kenosha Sconsin and im slowly rebuilding an 87 dakota. I know this is weird but i was wondering if you could help me.. maybe like when looking for parts or mechanical advice. All i would ask for is your e mail address... anyways nice job i like the black paint job and tire set up. I dont know if i would do the hood the same but it looks good.
What size wheels and tires you got on your truck? I got a 408 stroker in my 93 2wd and the stock wheels and tires just wont cut it. Im trying to get the widest wheel and tire as possible on it.
What kind of tires are they? (Im looking at mickey thompson street st tires) And how good are they on the street/strip? Because im going to be driving mine regularly with the occasional trip down the track.
Kaleb Brawand the 235 up front fits well i have used 225 no problems. I am actually currenrly using the mickey thompson sportsman s/t tires now and the actually do pretty well both wet and dry
holy shit you dropped a 360 in that sum bitch?! i got a 96 dakota it got the 3.9 wish it had the 5.2 but i still love it. truck its fuckin sexy man love the sound. is it cammed?
Ahh man, sounds great, good work. I'm probably getting a 1992 dodge dakota 4x4 this weekend. It's got the V8 Magnum, and only has 90,000 original miles. He's selling it for $3000. Cant wait to get it, hopefully someday i'll put a bigger engine in it, maybe this size. But once again, that sounds amazing.
I have done my research. Maybe you should do yours. Go ahead google "dodge 3.9 magnum engine". Pick any results from allpar, wiki, or other countless forums.
