This has made me super emotional, I am almost 18 stone and always tell myself I can’t do things. You have inspired me to do more and believe! Your time was amazing and well done, congrats! Your kids love you and will always be proud no matter what!
Stacie - you can do anything. One of the hardest obstacles is believing in yourself but once you’ve nailed that then you’re set. And thank you for the kind words ☺️
Great story mate well done. The fact you overcome the fear of running in public. I think that’s what stop so many people finishing there targets. Congrats dude 😊
Brilliant, always enjoy your travel vlogs but this is great! Thanks for sharing the journey Ian, makes it all the more impressive. Fair play on the 2 hour goal. If your goals aren't scary they aren't ambitious enough so fair play!
Thanks mate. Still recovering haha. I’m gonna work on my 5k and try and get them down to 30mins. Gemmas booked me on the New Forest Half marathon so off roading on the next one 😬
It’s definitely a good starting point. It gets you moving. It’s hard though but I don’t think I would be where I am now if I didn’t give couch to 5k ago. You’ve got this!
My family and I have just binge watched your florida videos this week and we are local to you too. I watched this video and just wanted to say A HUGE WELL DONE on your run. I did my first 5k last October in Portsmouth and it was HARD. But you have given me the hope I can do further. You should be so proud of yourself for this. Its amazing! Keep up with the videos. We are really enjoying them 😊
Thank you so much for your comment. I really don’t know how he does it. Well done on your 5k. That’s a great achievement. 5k for me is enough 🥵. Ian also did the New Forest Half too back in October and is doing the Winchester half in a couple of weeks. He’s crazy 😝
Top man! Top family! Great story. I know the course - I've run the marathon 4 times so I could imagine myself in the road, on the bridge where you were! The good burghers of Southampton give great support and the closed roads make it a big event! Great to have the race booked so you had to get the training done!👍 You earned the medal🏅 and you earned the confidence boost. More half marathons... then marathon then... yes... an ultra (not obligatory) but a goal!
Oh brilliant. I’m going to do it again next year but I’ve just booked another in the New Forest in October. Off road. Should be good. Great to have something to train for 😃
Impressive Ian. I began running in 2016 whilst taking a fitness course run by Saints Foundation. I eventually ended up shifting four stone and, like you, began entering for big events, starting with a 10k but quickly moving up to the Southampton half-marathon. I'm really impressed with your effort and the progress you've made. I'm also impressed with the professionalism of the vlog. Keep up the great work. Running and filming. Might see you at the New Forest Marathon. My training regimen begins tomorrow.
Thanks David. It’s addictive isn’t it. I try my best. I wouldn’t call myself fast but I give it my all. Which NF Marathon are you doing? The September one or Lyndhurst October one? Looking forward to trying off road. Used to run a lot through NF but only 6-7k. As for the vlog. That’s all the wife’s doing. 😃
@@theburgesses2004 I will be running (most of) the full-marathon from Brockenhurst in September. Not only do you get a banana, but they do a really good T-shirt. You're right, these big events are addictive. I've done the Great South Run twice and am keen to it again this year. As for trail runs, I did the 10 mile New Forest Stinger (November) back in 2018 and, pheeew! The last nine miles are the worst and I missed being stampeded by ponies by about 30 yards. As for the vlog: still well done -- whoever is responsible.
