Coming up you guys are going to see some audio system diagnostics in Minty Green, my 2004 Trailblazer. Minty Green does not have the bose system, so it's important that you guys are able to know if your Trailblazer does, or does not, have the bose system before following any procedures shown in upcoming videos.
There are several versions of the factory radio in these trucks. Standard, standard with onstar, bose, bose with onstar, onstar with nav, blah blah blah. After reviewing the service information for each factory system, I've decided that splitting it into bose/no bose is going to be the easiest way to tell if what will work in Minty Green will work for you.
The major difference between the two is that the the signal from the radio goes straight to the speakers in non-bose, and the signal from the radio goes to the amplifier in bose. So if you were to ohm out the wiring from the radio to a speaker in a bose system, there wouldn't be continuity between the two because they are not directly connected. So, I decided to make a video dedicated to identifying which version of the factory audio system that you have so that you guys aren't wasting your time tracing non-existent circuits in your ride.
