8:11 Great to see another Saabkyle04 fan, I love his videos, so much attention to detail. Anyway I'm personally not the biggest fan of the third gen Eclipse, but it's still a nice car. You should get a lot more years out of it so worrying about getting something else isn't a big deal right now.
Literally my Dream Car! Ive owned 2 mitsubishis The Lancer loved it! My sister totaled it then i looked for one of these couldnt find it so i bought a Galant love it too but i really want an Eclipse hopefully soon
Congratulations!! Your car is beautiful!! Ive got one myself but mine is 2001 and rather deteriorated by lot of use and lack of care. I guess 2005 was the last edition of Eclipse with this awesome line!!!!
I've got the 2004 Spyder gs with all the options, plus a pioneer sound system and nice aftermarket wheels, but mine is an automatic, garage kept its whole life and I bought it for only $800
@@jakhihilton1505 I got rid of it a few months after I got it. Was a great car just wanted to upgrade. really wish I would've kept it as it would've been payed off 3 years ago haha
I just bought a 2003 GT. 120k miles, going to get the timing belt done in a few weeks since I'm not risking it with an interference engine. It was only $1500 so I think I got a pretty good deal.
Right before I moved into my new house my neighbors had a eclipse but it was totaled, the only place it remains in one piece is on google street view..
I agree with a lot of what you said. I don't mind it. They never sold the Eclipse outside of the USA but Mitsubishi has other models here with similar drivetrains and they are held in high regard. It's a nice car for a young guy, that's for sure. Fun, cheap to run and reliable.
Those are nice cars. I own an 05 gs model. 5 speed Straight pipe. No cat. Borla system. Coilovers. Black on black. Intake. Short shifter. I have mine since 2013 my 1st car and still owned it still today. 2020. It's on my channel if you're interested to see it. Overall they all up pretty great.
Its an very nice car I don't know if u still have it or no ... But I still have it 2001 it has so far 238 k N still running fine I drove last year to caliph la an i came back to Texas an back to Florida. An the car still running ill make a video an post it for u
+Dell0304 That's what I've heard also. I'm not sure what grease to buy though exactly. I watched your video update on this car and you mentioned the RPM and stalling issues when you turn on AC. I had that too but it seemed to correct itself, I haven't had a problem since. Mine has 149k on it currently though and it's older. The motor mounts are shot so when I crank it in the morning it has massive vibration until it's warmed. I just ordered yesterday some new hatch supports since my hatch won't stay up on its own. Previous owner cracked the bumper so I ordered a new one and I'm getting it the 14th. I am the third owner though so that's good. The clear coat on my hood is coming off pretty bad, another common 3G issue I've heard. It's my little project car that's for sure. I only paid 2k for it which was significantly cheap and besides a battery I have had no issues with it in 5 months. I need to replace the timing in about 25k more miles though. You should get some halos for yours lol mine has some but they're pretty much burnt out and unseeable. Did yours not come with a keyless entry? Mine didn't either and what's worse since these are special chip keys, they're expensive to buy.
The stalling turned out to be a dirty throttle body and it needed an ECU tweak because it wasn't compensating for the extra load fast enough. Eh, I thought about aftermarket headlights but I haven't really seen any I like the look of. Yeah, mine has keyless entry.
+Dell0304 I've been told it may be the throttle body needing cleaning too so I'll probably do that eventually when I do other general maintenance. Need to def get an oil change ASAP. Mine doesn't have keyless entry, I don't know if the last owner just lost the key or what but eh. It's on my to do list. I was told on Club3G that pretty much all halos for this car are garbage and that I'm better off opening up the head unit and replacing old ones with new LEDs. I like the look of halos but the price is expensive. Guess that's anything car related though lol a sunroof shade is like 80 bucks. Jeez.
ID love to see you drive a 86subaru or 90 oldsmoble wagon and compare , i respect your car but its just opposite of me , i cant do 2 doors not enough room and that engine is pretty much the same as a dodge neon. but it sounds like its been a damn good car .
Hey man we got the same ride remix edition 05 2.4. After you pop the hood on the left side behind the intake there is a piece of paper that tells you the year in the paint code and all that what's the paint code mine's burned off
Nice car from back when Mitsi still made a wide range of decent cars and gave a damn. These days all they've really got thats decentish is the Mirage and Outlander. Everything else is carry over designs.
Dell0304 The saving grace of it down here in New Zealand anyway is that its cheap as chips, and keeps people from buying the chinese crap they keep trying to peddle to us like Cherrys and Great Walls (basically death traps on wheels with shiney paint jobs). We have to put up with our cars costing like 50% more than they do in the states brand new (economies of scale and distance etc), so most people just buy used imports from Japan which themselves are generally better than a ultra cheap new car. You are right though its cheap for a reason and I personally wouldn't touch one.
+Dell0304 awesome thank you for the advice ! ill race you one day in return ! same excact car 4cyl. also same color only diffrence is the convertible ✊
Epic car, these aren't that expensive (yours might be because it's really nice lol), so I was thinking about trying to get one of these as my first car, I just can't decide between a 2005 Eclipse or the newer Eclipses. The designs are so different, and I can't decide. Which do you prefer?
+ChunkyBunny2 Nah lol, these go for about $4,000 around here if even that It's a bit of a toss up for me; I'm not really a fan of the 2006-2008 Eclipse, but after the 2009 facelift I like how it looks again. I do love my car though.
I never thought of you as being a self conscious type. LOL If they are gawking they probably like the car or think you are going to sell it on craigslist. Thanks for the update, I love seeing and hearing about your Eclipse. Ryan is that a rod or cable operated shifter? Sadly the plant where it was built in Normal, Illinois ( Diamond Star Motor Plant,) will be closing soon if Mitsubishi can't find a buyer.
Dell0304 It's a puzzle why Mitsu won't come up with a new sports car, there are plenty of others Toyota, Subaru, Honda, Mazda, ect have they can make it at the Diamond Star plant and sell it around the world.
Dell0304 Yes, both have been used and it varies a lot depending on make and model. I personally think that rod style is more accurate feeling and positive. I think yours has rod linkages, from what I saw when you shifted through the gears. As you can see I am a car geek.
Dell0304 Thanks for replying back. Hey, how your two friends that do the vlogs with you, I haven't seen them on your channel lately? Oh and we NEED a vlog, I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms!
Ryan Gehret thank you mate, I own a 2003 2.4 std also, costed $2,000 dlls (40,000 pesos mexicanos), I've changed the clutch kit, clutch slave and master bomb, had the head renewed, new head gasket, new belts (timing, bomb and the others including balancer), new water pump and its respective water tube, changed oil and antifreeze and all filters and I am gonna body paint it in a few weeks. I love it but I got this problem: my clutch pedal is too stiff!! (Have new pump and brake fluid). Algún consejo, hermano???? :/
Dell0304 ok man it late at night soo i am not used to watching videos as they are uploaded,i always watch tommorow around noon soo i did not know.sorry man.but nice car change that shifter knob its ugly as hell
+Hydro Drop Yeah, the remix edition includes the 210W Infinity system, leather seats, chrome tipped exhaust, color matched side mirrors, and the chrome rims.
Here, as long as the exhaust system is approved by the California Air Resources Board it's okay. But removing any components like the cat or resonator isn't legal iirc.
