I wish I didn't have to post this video but my 2021 Chevy Silverado LT Trailboss 6.2 has left me stranded! This is a really unfortunate issue plaguing GM vehicles right now and unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones! I will update y'all whenever they update me, really hoping this issue is resolved properly!

@ryannelson8717
@ryannelson8717 2 года назад
@KCBOBX by not shutting off half the motor. GM was actually pretty smart and they changed the way it works. It's a variable V4 which means that it doesn't just fire the same 4 cylinders, it still fires all the cylinders it's just half as much. The effective result is that you just have the engine firing half as much, but you still need to maintain the RPM which is. So by using that stored energy to keep it rotating at the same speed, but firing less, you get a better gas milage. Edit: typo

This issue is still happening. Purchased a 6.2 Trailboss yesterday. Today, exactly the same symptoms as your truck experienced. Failure happened with 72 miles on the odometer. I have '19 LT (new style) with over 57K miles and luckily have had no major issues. My truck has the Borla Type-S cat-back exhaust, K&M cold air intake. Only recurring minor issue (for now) is the sudden jerking in low gear which is attributed to the 8L90 transmission. This issue has been occuring since before the factory warranty had expired, but the dealer cannot mover forward unless there is a service bulletin that will allow GM to cover the cost. Fortunately I have an extended warranty up to 120K miles. I received the Pulsar LT and will install today and hopefully see positive changes from my engine. Trucks have truly come a long way. I also have a '90 S-10 with179K miles with orginal motor and transmission and spend about $4k to get it up and running. I got the base because all the garbage they put on the higher end trucks is just more stuff to go wrong and my truck has everything I need. To an extent, yes. However, the Manufacturer and dealership owner/management put so much stress on these Stupid, Completely Unnecessary and Absolutely Unfair surveys, that it is stressful. On my first oil change I took it to at the same dealer they put the wrong oil in my truck after I specifically Told them to use dextrose D not regular dextrose…I had to go back and have them put the right oil in it. Pretty incompetent that a dealer can’t even put the right oil in a vehicle they sell Then they had the nerve to ask me to give them a 5 star survey on their “service “. Lol

@@chop2093 sadly they hold the advisors pay & many others to this. So they have to rely on others to do the correct/right thing so their check doesn't get hurt. So parts person, the tech, the porter, detailer etc. Now I've heard to still do 5 stars BUT when they ask for a comment, make sure to say what the issue is. That's so advisor doesn't get hurt BUT ur issue gets resolved. We get any survey back that gets comment good or bad & obviously the 1s with low stars. It's crazy bc our dealer is older, don't have all high-tech stuff for customers & a question is about that stuff. Gets bombed everytime, finally they took that off what the employee gets scored by.

@@tjmakings See... there you go making assumptions. We know this guy did exhaust, did he do headers as well, he has a CAI, that can be as much as 30hp or more gained.. then you adjust factory programing.. AND he is HAMMERING it, at that point, IMO GM does not and should not have to warranty the motor. The programmer explicitly states in their product warranty that they are not liable for any damage occurred by using their product. So how F'ing stupid do you have to be to use a product that the manufacturer does not stand behind and that can void and should VOID your warranty on your new 50K+ truck. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QPsDPRn30v0.html - Here is the video of him programming his truck. (And to let you know I own a 2021 Trailboss LT with a 6.2L) If you are running a business and sell a product with a warranty. Should you have to provide warranty coverage when a 3rd party item is used on your product.. and it breaks your product. NO. That would be insane. F'ing common sense man. I have no sympathy for this dude.
