Definitely! They made it very easy for the first half to fly by. Such great conversations along with some wonderful Los Angeles fun facts from pace leader Russ.👍 Yes, overall it was a beautiful day, but those conditions were a challenge. Our canopy at mile 20 was completely flipped over from the wind at one point. So thankful it didn’t hurt anyone. Tnank you for watching.😁

Another great LA marathon video! Congrats on finishing strong and with a smile on your face! I met your lovely wife at the expo and told her I am a fan of your videos. This was my first marathon and your videos definitely helped prepare me. Miles 21-24 were hard for me as well and threw off my pace but just happy to finish under 5 hrs without injury. What an awesome experience that I get to relive through your video!

Great video Anthony and great race! This was my first marathon and first race. Watched your videos before and they helped me prepare, keep up the great work! The sun, the wind, and the hills also got me in the last few miles, but I still finished healthy in under 5 hours. I'm still filled with joy thinking about it and spending a whole day being surrounded by so many positive and supportive people!

Loved that you were genuinely still having fun even when you realized you wouldn't meet your goal on the day. You still ran a marathon and that is absolutely amazing!! Huge congrats to you, Anthony, and you are an inspiration to so many!! And that is so cool that you got to see such an inspirational person along the course - absolutley loved that. I'm not familiar with him/his club or that documentary, but am absolutely going to watch it now.

I’m trying to also capture (📹) some of my races and get do different places. But maybe 2023 or 2024. I want some payback and meaning that I want to be more prepared a awesome course but very demanding one. LA is no joke. When I do this again, hope to see you at the finish line the next time. Great job on your race! It was first marathon and I was completely unprepared to contend with that wind, and the hills took way more out of me than I thought they would. I had a blister that I had been nursing for a few weeks leading up the race go at about 15k which made for challenge but I still managed a 5:11 which I am happy with. Great first marathon experience and can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for the videos!

Hi! Seeing your video made me revisit the 3/20 Los Angeles Marathon again, I am a runner from Taiwan🇹🇼 and my goal is 4:30. There are also many marathon events in Taiwan. You have the opportunity to run the marathon in Taiwan and experience the enthusiasm of Taiwanese. There is a special passion for marathon runners in Taiwan. You can eat delicious food while running. There are roast chicken, steak, beer, and fruit.

Congrats, Anthony! I ran it too (first Marathon) and OMG, the wind, the heat. It was no joke. Didn't make my planned sub 4:30, but finished in 4:51, so still very pleased with the time! Enjoy the recovery time)

This is what I think helped me not to hit the wall. On a long run, towards the end, try to pick up the pace. Really focus on picking up the pace around the last 2 miles. Sometimes we just get in our own head. Try doing this for every run you do....

@@runningformybestlife I was doing well at the half point. Doing about 2:30 on track for a 5 hour but by 20 miles and going up hill it was walking time to the finish. My knee was hurting too much by then and I didn't want to buckle and fall and get a DNF. I tried to get back in it but the mojo was gone by that point. My concentration was broken.

@@runningformybestlife No Anthony, I was not a participant, but the video made me feel like one. I live in Colorado and will be running the Colorado Marathon on May 1st. The first 20 miles are a gentle descent down a canyon in the mountains, so a much easier course than the LA Marathon.

Running my first marathon would you recommend running with the pacer? I saw you were with the 4:20 but ended with 4:44? Wondering if this is common with pace groups.

Hi Scott. Thanks for watching and the comment. Running with a pacer is a great way to stay on track with your finish goal. If you see a pace group that you feel will be comfortable for you, go for it and see how it feels. You can move up or down throughout the course. Around miles 18-20 you should have a good idea. Yeah, a lot of factors went into me not finishing with them. Looking back they were probably still too fast for me and the heat around mile 13 killed me. Learned a lot that day. I am hoping to finish with them this year. Are you doing LA? Congratulations on your first marathon! Cheering you on from afar.

Hi Angelo. I believe so. Many people wear or carry various things for entertainment or to bring attention to their cause. Such fantastic additions to the LA Marathon. I have a friend who wears a hotdog suit. haha
