There is a new 2024 Tacoma sitting in the back lot at your dealership missing the shutter system. Your calling probably made the dealer and Toyota take one off a new model in stock, and they wait until the new one comes in and reinstall and goes on lot to sell a month later 😎

Shutter is probably part of Cold Weather Upgrade package. It's extra. So I thought. No. All trim level have it.

The minuscule mpg gains or shortened time to warm up are not worth the added complexity of these shutters.

Question: Unless you just drove this vehicle and it's still hot, why are those shutters open now? Shouldn't they be closed now? Are you sure the shutters aren't fixed in the open position until the part comes in then you'll get called in for something else and they will then switch out the defective part? Just curious!

The design of the shutters should be by default to be in the open position.

They will be shut and frozen in the winter to keep the turbo warm. Then, it is not open to cool due to all the ice and snow that has accumulated behind the grill. In my opinion only 😎

GM is more equal in their approach. Andrey’s Colorado Trail Boss at TFL doesn’t have a working backup camera for SEVEN MONTHS now because the dealership is waiting for parts. 😃

No way you got it from Longo Toyota in El Monte they’re the #1 dealer in the country I believe I pass by it a lot on my way home from my delivery close by, they had A LOT of 23’s

The dealer could have removed the bad shutter assembly or zip tied it open while they waited for a new one. You could have kept driving the truck.

Is this make sense to you? Turbo engine is no good for idling long period of time. You get pop up warning on the Taco cluster. But there is power inverter option allows you to use AC power during camping or using power tools. To use that you need to leave the engine on to use max wattage and you get engine damage warning….😂

I’m not so sure I would not disable the shutters. Imagine if they get stuck shut in the middle of an off road drive with lots of wet mud.

I am suspect of any new Toyota. My 2022 Camry had a mapp sensor failure at highway speeds. Downshifted so violently it nearly left the highway. Faulkner Toyota said it was caused by a rodent chew. No evidence at all of wires chewed on. The only rodent under the hood of my Camry was the dealers technician. Excellent way for Toyota to deny component failures with their products. Cost me $300 to get my car back.

Chevy has the same problem with the Colorado I've seen guys remove the Shutter flaps but leave the housing and motor intact.

Glad your LEMON 🍋 is being repaired. When ANY Redesigned vehicle is new, they’re going to be a POS. That’s why I chose my 23 Tacoma over the 24 Tacoma. The 24 Tacoma owners are the “Test” owners. Dump the truck and buy a 23. Historically the first 2 years of a totally redesigned vehicle from Toyota is a POS

THESE CARS (NOT A PICKUP TRUCK. AS IT GOT COIL SPRINGS IN THE REAR) ARE LIKE SIMPLE TOYS.. SO MANY WIRES AND JUST A DROP OF WATER CAN SCREW MANY THINGS! SAW TRDJON SHOWS HIS 2024 GIVING 21 MPG ON HIGHWAY, MY V6 3RD GEN GIVES 22-24 MPG ON HIGHWAY.

That looks like a not complex at all engineering to control the temperature of the turbos. /END of sarcasm I am not sure this will hold up for 200,000+ miles.
