Seriously, that chocolate is NEXT LEVEL! I tried it when I was there last year, and i took 12 blocks of it back home with me. Hands down the best chocolate ever! Whittaker’s Chocolate, honestly is so so good
@@brittanymorgan09 as a kiwi I can agree that Whittaker’s is the best chocolate brand out there! They recently came out with a macadamia chocolate which I highly recommend!!
I had posted a link about the New Zealand Pie Awards (Pie Olympics) winner about 12 seconds after you dropped this short. RU-vid doesn't like links and yeeted it outa there. The winners are in Fairlie South Canterbury. But any winner in the last decade are going to be great. Pies are serious business in Aotearoa. 😊
yesss the pie is so good! as an nz citizen, i know it tastes so good, like there’s literally no pie that’s gross, (unless it’s supermarket pie-don’t recommend) also, i recently found a fish and chips in devonport (a subarb in auckland, nz) that’s literally soo good, like it could very well be my favourite food rn 😍 this list was so spot on and the editing in great 👍
Thank you!! ❤️❤️ I think we may have tried the spot you talk about in Devonport when we were living in Auckland, sooooo good!! I had a pie with mushrooms in it and it was not good lol but all other pies have been pretty good!
Try the mutton pies as well. I’m a former Canadian who has been here for 18.5 years. I’m a Kiwi citizen now. And you hit the nail on the head with chicken. I got gorgeous chicken thighs yesterday for $4.89 a kilo, ($2.22 a pound). So good!
I use to work ar whittkers choclate do know my lunch was hehe try whittikers dark choclate and milk heated in mic for 30 secs and you have the best hot choclate😊
@@brittanymorgan09 Fish & chips prices have increased dramatically since your visit. It would be $12-$13 for one piece of fish & $4.00 (usually the minimum U can buy here in N.Z.!) for a small measly amount of hot chips. It was way cheaper in the past. Owners of shops are getting greedy $$ wise now & quality has dropped too....
If you have the courage, or find it interesting, some Brazilian youtubers film prices in supermarket to compare it to the prices back home, gas prices also. Nice video btw.
@@suzannekirkwood6392 yeah that’s fair. Fair maybe on average you’re pies are better but the good pies I’ve had in Australia trump on of the “best pies in NZ” at least on the South Island haha
@@brittanymorgan09 wow have you tried both? So it's true NZ have the best pie damn haha 😂. I'm Australian btw but I'm from northern territory. the pies up here are 🗑️.
actually you can buy pies for $1NZD wich is $0.63 USD you can find them all around the south island of NZD normally sold at dairy's, same size as a normal pie but the quality is what you expect for your money, still edible though.
NZ has some of the most natural and tastiest food on the planet. I don't believe your weight loss problem had anything to do with the food. There will always be the odd fusspot out there though! 🙄
@@susanreeves6629 meat pies was invented in Australia before NZ was even occupied by the British. The first meat pie came out of Williams Town Victoria 1823 from a English born Sydney woman apprentice chef who had claimed it was her own family recipe by 1836 there was more than 9 different varieties of pies. Some Greek Italians and Egyptians claims. They had meat pies for thousands of years. Though much debated as bullshit since you can't find one there. Meat pies aren't NZ at all. NZ meat pies more superior? 😆 🤣. You kiwis always good for a laugh
Pies have been around since the neolithic period, we both brought them over from England where they've been since before English was a language. And ours are better.
@@flashrobbie Not beef pies though with the same ingredients Australia made. Try buy a meat pie thsts the same as Australian and New Zealand in England, it's none existing unless a bakery opened up there from either from an Australian or New Zealander. I lived in England for 3 years. I never found one. Maybe theirs one there now though? I've tried English pies. It's not the same. And no it's not better at all. New Zealand pies would be as close you can get as an Aussie beef pie as it's made from same ingredients. The best pies I've ever tasted was from a bakery in Ballarat Victoria Australia. New Zealand has good tender beef that makes their pies good. But the kiwis seem to had added something in the gravy that make it a bit bitter for my liking but I like the kiwi's (stake and mushroom pie) Very hard to beat
@@Nathan-ry3yu I've seen numerous travel vlogs as well as heard from many people that have been to both and tried pies in both places, they all say NZ pies are better.
