For casual jobs you can quit whenever. For a permanent job you can also quit whenever but if you don't give the required amount of notice your employer can withhold a certain amount of your pay and/or recover money from you. It also works the other way. You can be fired pretty much whenever in a casual job but for a permanent job they also have to give you notice or they have to pay you out for the notice period.

As these aren't professional jobs, there wouldn't be any issue unless it was agreed upon when you started the job. I definately would not suggest that you go for any of these jobs except for the last which had the most perks, paid well and comfortable. You would want to be able to see as much as you can consistently without having to take time to earn more money from an underpaid position. It would be best to save as much as possible prior to coming out and budget the best you can. Learn the cost of living here and estimate how much you may need to do the things you want to. What's the point in coming if you're only going to go home with a bunch of regrets.

When i watch any of these present stories of working visas in Oz i do feel sorry for people as when i had my experience back in 2001 everything was so cheap. I did a divemaster internship on Magnetic island, 8 weeks cost me 200 dollars, 2 hours washing dishes at night for all the food i could eat. Got given an 8 man tent from some guys that were leaving which i put up on a site costing me 6 dollars a night. First paid job was filling scuba tanks from 6pm to 12pm for something like 12 dollars an hour 7 days a week. Then worked on the boat doing day trips 4 days a week 150 dollars a day and i was still only paying 100 dollars a week for a nice double room in a shared house. How times have changed.

You had it very good. Unfortunately there are many companies around that target overseas tourists and backpackers. Their intentions are not at all honourable. Utility Companies, Fruit Picking, the 'Charity Schemes' and many more may appear okay to an outsider but we Aussies know they are just being used. I can't begin to tell you how many I welcomed into my home on stinking hot days to give them a rest and cool drinks when they had been door knocking. Australians living around my area wouldn't dream of fruit picking as the wage is so low plus the labour so intensive that it wouldn't be enough to survive on. They need to research jobs and Agencies prior to coming.

As far as I'm aware, the age limit for jobs would be the same as for Australians. You can ask for a job wherever you like but be careful if you do not have a work permit. I wouldn't go walking into a Café asking for employment without a work permit. You won't have a very enjoyable stay if you're constantly worried about being caught out working illegally. Thoroughly research all this information prior to leaving so you'll come here and have a much better experience. If you're only going to be in Sydney, I'd suggest a smarter type of wardrobe if you seriously want to work there. Accommodation is massively expensive, most especially in Sydney and Melbourne.

Farmwork is the first thing offered to backpackers as no-one else will do this underpaid work. There are plenty of jobs available but they need to be researched prior to coming here. It's the desperate who end up on farms. Not every tourist who comes here ends up on a farm. They need to check online prior to arriving so they can stay away from the 'questionable' jobs like the Charity scam and door to door sales for Utility Companies etc.

It's best to work out your own accommodation. I've seen houses that were provided but the rent was huge and they cram about a dozen of you in. Free accommodation is a rarity and if you find it, they'll probably find out another way to get the money from you. Utilities aren't cheap here and don't expect to find internet usage in every out of the way place. These farming jobs are not long term so you'll probably be more comfortable in your tent. Just research reliable sources prior to coming here.

@krisushi1
@krisushi1 3 года назад
Check online for Agencies that assist in this area. Depends if your on a tourist visa or a work visa also. If you want to keep under the radar, your job opportunities will be limited to the types of jobs mentioned. Ski Resorts in Victoria and NSW will be a great experience as well as spectacular scenery. If you know anyone here, ask for their help. If fruit picking, it's better to go through legal Agencies but the pay is pretty bad and the labour gruelling. Check out the Classifieds in newspapers, the online site Gumtree, try large Sports events also. Don't ever fall for someone coming into a backpackers lodge stating they have jobs, they will be questionable in the least. Depends on your Visa, qualifications, length of stay here and where you are at any given time. This is a very large Country, so you'll need to learn as much as you can prior to arriving. Good luck.

To get her 88 days up she took a job outside Barcaldine as a Jilleroo. 1 months trial and she stayed for 6 months until the harsh summer. I hope it was eventually explained to you why your first job flopped? These companies you worked for, that are not associated with the charities your raising donations for, keep the first years donations, at least, before the donations finally get to go to the charity. We are very much aware of this shonky scheme and that's why we don't sign up with those like yourself but go straight to the charity and donate to them directly. There are endless jobs that you've mentioned that are purely targeted towards the travelling tourist or backpacker. This needs to be researched prior to coming here so you can get a good honest job with fair pay. Seasonal jobs in hospitality can keep you employed on a Queensland island for six months and then you can go to another if you like. Coming from Germany, you'd be great at the Ski Resorts in Victoria and NSW. You need to stay away from these jobs that are targeting your type specifically as there is a reason they are doing this and it's not for your benefit. I wish you didn't have to learn the hard way. There are Agencies that will help with jobs in fruit picking etc. and will look after you, unlike the farms directly. All this information is available online or even word of mouth. Always bring your resume to show your qualifications for a higher wage. There are so many companies just ready to pounce on those needing money including utilities companies that will send you door to door. It's very hard work and many don't like having a stranger knocking on their door trying to flog them something they don't want. This is why you'll see the worst in human behaviour due to the jobs you are doing. You'll know better next time.
@rocioarteaga7606

What is the name of these agencies? Or how could one find one?
@krisushi1
@krisushi1 2 года назад
@@rocioarteaga7606 Google - backpackers finding employment in Australia 2021 You will see a variety of suggestions that you can follow up with depending on the type of work you want to do. These organisations will be able to help you narrow down the type of job you're after, where you'll be travelling to and what employment is available, help you to understand your rights, give you an approximation of the wage you're entitled to, accommodation issues and give you an idea of the bills you may have to pay for yourself. Although I've met many backpackers and other types of travellers here in Australia, I've never had to deal with any of these agencies myself so please be careful. Many people seeking employees often put a sign up at a backpacker hostels but be quite wary of then or at least check them out first via an agencie or through the government. If you're going to be driving, make sure you join an auto club in case you break down. I've rescued more than a few who ended up stranded without any way of getting help. Each State has their own but you will be covered countrywide. These are the things you need to counter in and add to the cost of your trip. Also, find out the latest COVID restrictions prior to coming. I wish you a lovely time for when you come.
