switching from the sony's to the sennheisers or the max's feels like when youve been walking around all day with a blocked nose and all of a sudden it just opens up and you can breathe normally again

According to some people online with the same issue, the reason for the noise is condensation, it would be interesting to get a confirmation if a new pair actually solved it. Water builds up on the driver and at after longer use affects the noice canceling microphones. Condensation has affected my headphones, although I take it off constantly to not let it build up, it’s really frustrating to think i might break my headphones simply by using it, the sound is really good…
well then they should've tested them properly before tossing them to market, especially for AU$900. Apple getting wrecked by sweat vapour, now that's embarrassing. and why exactly does it affect only Maxes now?
@@waltercomunello121it’s the exact same thing with the WH1000 XM4, I’ve had to send them in for repair 3 times in the 18 months I’ve owned them due to this issue
The H.E.A.R.S are actually a fairly good demonstration of soundstage if the headphones you are listening on are fairly good to begin with. I use Beyer T90s for my general listening and you can totally tell how squished the soundstage is on the Sonys compared to the Senheisers. I will admit when you start showcasing super high end stuff though, it just sounds like my Beyers with some RU-vid compression mixed in.
Before complaining about that demonstration, please note the difference between _comparative_ and _absolute_ data and then take your head out your arse.
A great way to test ANC Mic Clipping is to seriously do dishes with headphones on. When you're putting away silverware and you're dropping it onto a countertop, preferably marble, I've found that both the Bose 700's and Nuraphones clipped extremely when just putting away silverware. I'm pretty sure it's just that high pitched frequency of sound combined with that volume makes them clip.
Just remove the headband and clean the terminals with alcohol q tip thank me later because this fixed my issue that I thought was condensation also but it was in fact carbon residue on the terminals. Condensation is normal for all headphones honestly there is a higher chance that the issue is because you didn’t clean the terminals, every new pair made when the carbon brush gets broken in it takes a bit of surface off the new brush which ends up creating carbon dust which can impede the headphones to connect. I wear mine sometimes for 20 straight hours with no issues and there is massive condensation buildup and they work fine. I believe that the majority of people who return their headphones should do what I suggest first before starting their return. I almost returned mine but I fixed it with a little q tip and cleaning
having this problem right now, could you elaborate? I'm having a hard time understanding what you're saying, the headband doesn't come off, clean what terminals? thanks.
And for the Sony, out of the box it's sort of v shaped but the mids is crushed absolutely. So what you want to do to make it more neutral is, on the Sony EQ 1k +4, 2,5k +6, 6,3k +1, and clear bass -2. It's gonna sound sooo much better. And if you use default EQ with an app called Wavelet on Android, there is an AutoEQ option which can make your Sony have and hd600 sound profile which is amazing
I've had my AirPods Pro for a year or so, and I remember I used to have a problem similar to this on my old pair of pros. It turned out to be a recall in the manufacturing for a certain part, maybe that's what's happening to these? It's probably a recall in a part
Super late reply but I just found this comment. I also have a problem with my AirPods Pro where the the noise cancelling / transparency mode just cuts off on the left earbud. It cuts off then every 5 seconds or so it will come back on with some kind of clicking sound and immediately cut off again after not even a second. Is this the same issue you had? Hope I can get mine replaced.
@@boredsonicfan9088 oh no I hope I don't get repeatedly corrected by audiophiles because of a joke, I had to delete my joke on an austin evans video already
I've been considering joining your patreon for a while now, but not after the ending of this video. I'd better see a video of Frank opening a brand new laser on Christmas if you ever want to get my Freedom Eagle!
I used a pair of open back Beyer dynamics DT 990 pro's as my daily drivers for almost three years. I can attest to the fact that EVERYONE can hear absolutely everything you hear whilst wearing them.
Yeap, same, lol. I mean, I definitely want a lot of the cool stuff this guy reviews. But there's no way I could afford it with my non existent income 😂.
Sounds about right. I've bought two wireless earbuds from Beats, and the first pair went out after a month or so whenever noise canceling was used. So I stupidly bought another pair because I was at the airport when the went out and I wasn't going to do another two flights without any earbuds. Went out after about a month with the SAME EXACT ISSUE.
i had the exact same issue with some microsoft surface headphones. they were roughly the same price as these, but then my mum has a pair like the Sony's and she has had 0 issues. AT ALL. and im here hearing the ocean 24/7

I bought myself a pair of XM4's recently and I absolutely love them everything you said about them is true except the creaking which I've never noticed and the touch controls aren't that bad but the rest is completely true!
thats what i like at him. He isn't full of bullshit like most youtubers saying (insert headset company that payed him) is the best . He isn't sponsored and he tells his own opinion.
@@lardlover3730 Apple typically doesn’t have many flaws, but they’re generally simple and easy-to-use. Of course, that means when a flaw arises then it’s typically severe. I used to be a Samsung guy and switched to Apple after the 8/X since Apple certainly turned a corner then, while Samsung has become a developmental corporation. Yeah it’s cool to have new features but they better work consistently if I’m paying for them. Oh well, paragraph over. Cheers.
This dude is SERIOUSLY entertaining. Genuinely had me laughing too when he’s passionately talking about expensive headphones. Definitely need more subs.
I’ve had that same issue with my Beats Studio 3s. I completely understand not wanting to wear them, I’m just sorry that your AirPod Max headphones can’t turn off ANC.
1:41 Same happened to my Sony Headphones after a few days and they are the same color, as I found our the blue and black ones don't have these issues, only the white variat. Weird, REALLY weird.
Just a doot about the case as folks keep saying they won't turn off without it. When I take them off and just sit on a table they behave a lot like normal AirPods going back in the case and make the reconnect noise when going back on my head. Even Tidal will remove them from the selectable outputs just taking them off my head. They've been sitting out of their case for 3 days now and they still have charge in them 🤷♂️ So the nappy is more like super sleep as there is no charging case like true wireless earbuds, and those lose power over time too. But yea I never used that stupid case and it was never really an issue.
Does that mean you can't listen to music with them off your head and around your neck? I do that all the time with my headphones when I need to focus a little extra or need to be able to hear something. That'd be so frustrating if they'd always just turn off right away and not turn back on.
Any updates on your AirPods Max? Did you get them replaced? If so, how are they holding up? I just bought a pair and I like them but if they don’t hold up, I’ll return them before the return period ends. Thanks for the info! Love Love Love the vids!
I mean, he plays it ("Walk Through the Park" by TrackVibe, answer found two comments below) all the time when comparing headphones with the miniDSP. It also has an infectious groove so... MiniDSP go brrrrrr
Dankpods is honestly my favorite RU-vid channel in 2020. I’ve met some really great channels in the past few months but his humor and video system has a perfect rhythm to listen to in the park, on a run, while doing chores, and I even listened to him while taking tests. Before final exams his voice and jokes calmed me down enough to knock off my pretest anxiety. Props to you for sweeping this year off of its feet and making it just that much better. See you in the next year Dank. Have a good one
Recently found your channel -- Thank you Mr. Algorithm -- and thoroughly enjoy the content. I have the first version of the Sony, when when they were still MDR-1000x. I like the sound in them more than the XM3/4. Still not audiophile stuff. But the entire package is excellent for work and work-related travel. ANC, decent sound, nice case and _the ability to be used even when battery is dead_. Just plug them into your phone and they are regular headphones. Excellent stuff.
Honestly I think most of us haven’t noticed the lack of ads. I highly encourage you to enable them as it wont stop us from watching and you’ll get an extra buck
The cause of the max’s being thinner is because most of the circuitry is in the thicker part of the headphone band and otherwise the only things in the ear cups are the speakers, the batteries, and the buttons/functions. And of course the ports.
So i know I'm rather late to the party, but im hoping you do see this. I had a very similar issue with my Sony in ear wireless headphones, as well as my Bose QC Earbuds. Through mostly an accident, I discovered that moving a magnet across the headphone while it was making the noises, stopped the noises, then a few minutes later they would start up again. I am around a lot of welding and grinding at work, where i would use both headphones all day long, switching back and forth between them as batteries died. What was causing the issue for me, was tiny particles of metal that had been pulled in by the the magnet for the driver, and then eventually settling down on a pcb, causing tiny jumps in the connection. When the headphones were off, no magnetics, and the particles would drift to the bottom of the enclosure, and they would start working perfectly again after just a few seconds, then mess up a few minutes later. While walking past that construction site from your noise canceling test, its entirely possible that tiny amounts of metal got past the filters, and were causing your problems. The way I fixed my problem was waiting until the batteries were completely dead, setting them down so they stood with the vents on the bottom, ran a weak magnet along the top edge a couple of times, from one side to the other, then ran a stronger magnet right off the vent i had on the bottom. Took 10 minutes, but its fixed the problem for me every time its come back, which is every couple of weeks for me.
my airpod pros had this exact issue when i first got them, and it only was when using transparency or noise-cancellation modes too. i took them to the apple store to be replaced, they tested them and said they were fine! so i hade to return them in the store i bought them form and buy a new pair and thank god they didn't have the same issue.
Theres nothing more annoying than wearing noise cancelling headphones and someone in the car decides to play music out loud louder than usual because 'you cant hear it'
