🔬Blueprint Protocol: protocol.bryanjohnson.co/
🫒Blueprint Olive Oil: blueprint.bryanjohnson.com/
Two years and millions were spent developing Blueprint, an algorithm that takes better care of me than I can myself. Now, you can build your Autonomous Self as well: blueprint.bryanjohnson.co/
Blueprint is a public science experiment to determine whether it’s possible to stay the same biological age. This requires slowing down aging processes as much as possible and then reversing the aging that has happened. Currently my speed of aging is .76 (DunedinPACE). That means for every 365 days each year, I age 277 days. My goal is to remain the same age biologically for every 365 days that pass.
I openly share (for free!) my diet, exercise and other protocols so that others can benefit and try to improve upon what I’m doing. I also openly share my health data as data is better than human opinion at guiding decision making. You can find everything here: blueprint.bryanjohnson.co/
This video is a whirlwind tour of what my daily life looks like as my team and I are on this adventure.
On the surface, Blueprint may seem like something about health, wellness and aging. To me, it’s a philosophy.
Blueprint was born when years ago I would overeat every night as a result of the stress of everyday life: being a startup entrepreneur, a father to three young kids, leaving a religion I was born into, chronic depression etc.. Every night, at 7 PM, there was nothing I could do to stop myself from committing this self-harm of overeating. This was rapidly degrading my health and wellness and speeding up my pace of aging. Eventually, I playfully fired ‘Evening Bryan’, and revoked his decision making authority from 7 PM - 10 PM every night.
I imagine a future where we would not accept self-harm as the norm. The idea of systematically and reliably avoiding self-harm may be one of the most important goals of the 21st century. How silly is it that we do things, individually and collectively that harm our self interests? How odd is it that we are so normalized to it that we even cheer it on?
Our best selves, and a positive shared future, may start with this simple principle. Blueprint is the plan for that.

I know it probably already takes less resources to do the basics(cutting unhealthy behaviors and sleeping more), but this is what I would do if I had this kind of money. 30 years from now when reverse aging protocols are streamlined and easier we will be thanking him that he went through all this. These are all fascinating and very inspiring - many thanks indeed. In case helpful, when it comes to pursuing longevity and forever youth of body, the tycoons in Asia and Singapore are also adding the tranquility of mind to the sportiness of body to achieve the maximum effect and ultimate balance, learning to train the mind in such a way that it remains absolute calm in the face of all challenging situations to avoid being constantly strained mentally, and retain all positive energy within oneself. Also, adding to the scientific element is the old understanding that once one achieves absolute tranquilness on the inside (ie in one’s mind through effective meditation) one starts taking in energy from the wider universe which helps with immortality (as the universe is immortal). Books in this respect include for example “The Secret of Golden Flower: the Chinese Book of Life”, translated by Richard Wilhelm, a close friend of the great psychologist Charlie Monger;”How to be Happy: the Wisdom to Construct an Invincible Mind for Happiness and Success” by C.S.Evelyn etc. These all analyze to a certain extent some Taoism practice (and other longevity/mind-control practices such as Zen, Bushido and Stoicism). The Taoist masters, for example, have countless track-record to show for it when it comes to longevity and body mobility even at an old age, with the latest master Mi Jing Zi lived to 104 (up to last year), with a very mobile body up to his “rainbownise” (ie passing into a higher dimension as an immortal soul)

It's shocking someone hasn't already done this. People seem to have such a jaded view of our potential progress, but then you find out about seemingly low-hanging fruit such as using everything we know to reduce aging, which no one else has done, at least publicly, until now, and it becomes clear how stagnating our pessimistic and envious and unaligned with our collective interests our mainstream culture is. Imagine doing this for mental health. Or even just one issue: the motivation to improve oneself.

@@solitariocamel I am low income due to health issues. I did a very similar protocol as his Blueprint ten years ago and healed. Unfortunately I stopped the lifestyle and became sick again. Just wish to say it is possible to take some supplements, exercise, meditate, have quality of sleep and eat healthy on a low income. We spend a lot of time and money on other insignificant things each day. I cut all those out and dedicated myself to health which ultimately led to wealth as I was then able to work again while following the protocol. It is very easy to brush his whole concept off because he is rich. But he has been incredibly kind and shared all details online. I am picking out the most important supplements. His diet is not expensive at all. Exercise, sleep and meditation is totally free. So is cutting alcohol, smoking and so forth. All the expensive testing is of course not applicable for us.

Alongside my life long inflammatory disease, I had severe spinal trauma 12 years ago which left me paralysed by waist down, with chronic nerve pain and damage. Doctors said I'd never walk again properly and that my discs were degenerating. I've since done my own tests, including a full back MRI a year ago, which proves my spine and discs are all 100%. I'm now no longer in pain either, and fully mobile. The body really can heal and reverse damage, from just about anything. I've had more surgeries than I can count on both hands, including full body inflammation, multiple health conditions, and today 3 years later, I'm almost fully healed and feeling incredible!.I've been tracking my own data and measuring where I can. Keep this up guys !! The world needs to hear more of this.

This is a brilliant project, and seriously can’t understand the hate. Sure there is some aspect of “vanity” in wanting to just be younger, but ultimately this is a very valuable case study for science, and is very commendable he is taking this as seriously as he is. I’m very interested to see what the limit is in how much he can reverse his epigenetic age given all these resources. The one thing I see that is very resilient to change from the data he has published is his brain aging. Bryan if you are reading this it would be interesting to see how adding in certain nootropics/Neurotrophics like uridine, CDP choline, cerebrolysin, racetams, bioPQQ for brain health.

Psychiatry and psychotherapy with depressed people was roughly half the clientele of my family’s business for 15 years. Almost all of them had factors other than mere genetics and biology contributing to the genesis and maintenance of their depression.

I’m strive to be like you one day. You are a great inspiration to me. I’m going to follow and try to replicate your daily regimen as much as possible. Currently I’m a victim of pericarditis, I have bloody stool and my health is generally not in great shape. I have a mother to take care of, and I can’t sit around being sick all day. I have been doing a lot of research surrounding health and fitness in hope of getting better soon through diet and exercising. As someone who’s not academically advanced, the journey has been exceptionally difficult. Reading many studies with so called “experts” claiming completely contradicted claims from one another. One say carnivore is the best, and that vegetable is poison. Another say meat is cancerogenic, and that veganism is way. I never knew diet can be this complicated. Until I found a headline about a biotech founder who spend 2m a year to be healthy😂. That’s when I knew who to follow. Wholeheartedly I want to express my gratitude to your dedication to help educate the public of health and wellness for free. It’s good to see someone who’s rich that’s not a complete asshole every once in a while. Again, thank you.

There was a Belgian doctor who already did this back during the 60's-70's-80's-90's and early 2000's period. His name was Dr. Herman le Compte, specialized in geriatry and gerontology, and often reffered to as "the Vitamin doctor". Eventhough he was aiming for immortality, he died in 2008, at the age of 78, due to heart-faillure.

I find it funny that you have a bit of a problem with seeing the blood being drawn, even though you seem to have it done so often. Eventually maybe it won't bother you. I kind of like seeing it being drawn, just out of a strange curiosity, so it doesn't bother me. Thanks for sharing your experiments with the world.

@@EssentialTruth Because it is a lot of different pieces in a heterogeneous and not a homogenous system. I'm not even taking into consideration that the data will be tied to a single person. If we ignore the goal of this experiment, then it will be successful, whatever the outcome, if the researchers are researching and not trying only to confirm something. Otherwise, their data at the end might be complete trash. Also, I think one of the problems here is the classical, experimenter making too much of an impact on an experiment, which corrupts the data. P.S. What if also their method of calculating aging speed is wrong?

( but also testing therapies at an affordable budget) Curious for example what were the biggest factors or the most efficient methods used at a very good price/value. Not sure if every single method used would generate significant changes + Some of the methods used look painful and expensive... the list of all steps in the video would be very challenging for a normal person to try. (For reasons related to pain, budget, etc.) Calorie restriction would be for example an easier method to try. This is extremely interesting. Thank you for sharing all details Bryan and Team. Some questions and remarks: • Are planning to experiment with heat (sauna) and/or cold exposure? • Are you measuring body temperature throughout the day? • Doesn't the caloric restriction impair thermogenesis and make you feel cold (e.g. in hands/feet) often? • I'm a bit skeptic about caloric restriction in general because I think it has drawbacks (lower testosterone, lower immunity against infection, thyroid function, constant hunger...). • Wouldn't it be better to improve glucose tolerance instead? (Which you are doing with Metformin, cinnamon, Rapamycin, etc.) • Do you think some fat (e.g brown fat) in the right areas could be beneficial? I'm not convinced that having zero fat is beneficial for longevity. • To improve efficiency do you think its fine to pre-mix the ingredients of your morning drink in bulk, so that you only need to add water? (Should be fine with all dry ingredients right?) • 1:21:45 Jugular Vein Stenosis: So many people have bad posture today. I think this could be way underdiagnosed. Thanks for the hint. All the best for your upcoming experiments!

I can't help but be utterly captivated by this subject! My interest deepened when I lost my dear mum in 2015 to breast cancer at the tender age of 65. She fought a heroic battle against stage 4 breast cancer for eight incredible years, with the help of an antroposophic clinic in Berlin that blended alternative and conventional treatments. Bryan's work has the potential to revolutionise how we approach disease in the future, and I'm genuinely excited about that. As a Psychological Therapist, I've witnessed firsthand how food, exercise, and sleep profoundly impact not only our physical, but also our mental well-being. Yet, despite this knowledge, we often overlook these essential elements of health. Let's change that!

@@roxanabuzarquis1594 I’m actually 22 in 2 months but as good as 22 😅 I was diagnosed with a neurological condition when I was 17 called restless leg syndrome which won’t kill me but it makes it harder to fall asleep 😭. But following my protocol I have even treated myself from the disease. From 17 to 20 I realised my heart was beating wayyy too fast when not exercising, had muscle twitches and fasciculations, spastic reflexes, uncontrollable anxiety, chronic fatigue and much worse. I knew I had to fix myself and I did :) It turns out my body just can’t use B12 (I had to figure this out, doctors can be useless) and while doctors are still messing round and I’m waiting for high dose B12 injections, I’ve managed to treat myself without B12 and along the way basically unintentionally was following a hella effective anti aging protocol and I still get ID’d for redbull 😄 I’ve been weightlifting 5x a week, take lots of supplements purely for my mitochondria as my research stated this is the cause of chronic fatigue. Those are Alcar, Idebebone, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Carnosine and COQ10. I took these for my chronic fatigue but turns out these are basically the pillars for anti-aging😅 For anxiety I took serine (killed my overactive fight or flight response and later found out it prevents diseases like ALS😲), sulforaphane (too many benefits to list out) and Taurine (also great for liver) These all worked but also had so many longevity benefits I didn’t know about. And I took psychobiotics which massively helped with my energy levels. I try not eat red meat and try stick to Fish, chicken and Turkey but I don’t mind a good old McDonalds Cheese burger or Italian food ☺️ and of course I take NMN and tons of glycine as they both literally de age the skin and great for longevity. Lots of these are actually my parents so I don’t spent as much as what you’d think. And recently added in PQQ as it’s the only supplement to help create NEW mitochondria. I also take Biogaia Osfortis as it increases testosterone and makes your balls bigger ( probiotic and yes literally 🤣) All of these have helped i say 70% from my neurological condition despite the medication doctors giving me not working and apart from my restless leg syndrome, I feel reborn with my energy levels, etc and I used to think it sucked taking this much but seeing everyone my age suddenly age faster made me realise aging is too valuable to be a currency and ima keep going 😎 I feel bad for my younger sister though ahahaha. I definitely forgot important things but those are the things that came to mind. I’ve done lots of research on Metformin and will probs take it when I’m a bit older. Even if I stop taking my supplements, the benefits stay which means I have actually changed myself for the better, and like bodybuilding I just have to maintain 😎 I think when I get my B12 injections I’ll be like superman 💪 🤣🤣🤣

Some general notes I have of extremely essential things: - Sleep is holy, I let nothing interrupt my sleep routine, if it's 19:00 it's time to prepare to sleep. I wake up at 4:30 and go straight for a slightly warm shower, followed by a cold one. - SLEEP!!! SLEEP WELL. Sleep consistently. Regularize your schedule around good sleep. Do "dopamine detox" (not scientific term, just a term to google for) to be less of a stimulation junkie, so you can have greater self control to control your arousal levels to go to sleep at the proper time (a sleep hygiene routine) - Don't drink caffeine. Avoid it like the plague. It affects digestion and sleep. No caffeinated beverages (coca-cola, etc) - Alcohol is a neurotoxic that will increase your chances of cancer everywhere, and mess up with your brain. Avoid it at all costs. Even if socially drinking, you might be tempted to drink while being sad. - Smoking: Do I have to say anything about it? Avoid second-hand smoking (people close to you that smokes) - Marijuana: Garbage, no benefits. - Brush your teeth after anything you eat, money can't fix you losing your natural teeth, keep as much as of your natural bone tissue as you can as a rule of thumb (avoid that veener treatment that removes your natural teeth to put that synthetic crap for aesthetic purpose on top of them). Go to the dentist every 6 months to do cleaning/check up on them, and ask them for recommendations for the current condition of your teeth, if you need braces, etc. Ask them about your wisdom teeth, they might ask for a panoramic x-ray of your teeth. - Check your skin for any strange spots that might be skin cancers (melanoma), it spreads like wildfire if untreated. - Get Almogan mercury dental fillings removed with the SMART safety protocol if you got it. It's slowly dumping small amounts of mercury in your bloodstream. I'll get mine removed with that protocol once I get enough money. In the common medicine they believe they are "safe" but to me it's not acceptable the levels. However, don't get it removed without the SMART protocol, it will release huge amounts of mercury at the time of removal, maybe more than a lifetime with them. Also, it affects MRI imaging, it creates artifacts if you got it, and you ever need for an emergency an MRI. - Don't get unnecessarily x-rays, and specially CT Scans, they emit ionizing radiation that will increase your chance of cancer. Unless it's medically required. MRI machines are safe, they emit just radio frequency, although take care of SAR levels. - Watch out for heavy metals in the foods you eat: Dark chocolate, fish, etc. - Consume foods with lowest glycemic indexes that you can, a.k.a. not a diet full of food that gives sugar spikes: Candies, Ice cream, you get the idea (to avoid diabetes, EVEN IF YOU ARE POOR, CANDY IS OPTIONAL), but if you need to bulk up for muscular hypertrophy or weight gain, you might have to relax on this rule of thumb, to eat stuff like pasta, although, I'll try to avoid it, and consume rice instead, to avoid wheat. - Avoid dairy and wheat (it causes inflammation), peanut butter. If you eat black beans, reconsider not eating them, if you can keep your caloric and nutrient intake some other way. - I'm doing calisthenics for muscular hypertrophy (I started recently), focus on quality of movement, watch on the channel "man's maxxing", search about improving your body core, it's easy to get that part wrong. - Proper tongue (mewing), back and neck posture. Make sure your computer and smartphone usage is ergonomic, chair, monitor height, no pressure against your arm/wrist (to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome) as you use it, no slouching over. - If you have tongue-tie get it fixed as soon as possible, however, you might want to check on your dental/palatal situation so that it heals correctly at the top of roof of the mouth (mewing).
@Lucas_Simoni
@Lucas_Simoni Год назад
Also learn meditation properly, it will help you control arousal/wakefulness levels more naturally, without need to stimulation (caffeine, entertainment) so that you can go to sleep and wake up at the proper time. Also, it will help to procrastinate less, leading you to not having to go on crazy sprints that night before an exam, losing proper sleep, which is the MOST important factor to someone's health, as I said, unless they are dying of cancer, their bad sleep quality is probably the thing that can solve that will improve every single aspect of their lives. Watch Mattew Walker on youtube and read his book: "Why do we sleep?" something like that. Watch Thannisaro Bhikku and Yuttadhamo Bhikku for meditation, they are ordained buddhist monks.
@Lucas_Simoni

Do some boring skin care routine, you probably know the drill. Something that will clean it up, hydrate it and sunscreen. Avoid regular soap it dries it up. Don't use body hydration on the face. Check if it's Non-comedogenic (it doesn't clog up pores). If you have the fat filaments coming, Salicylic Acid and retinol will improve, but don't overdo. Check it out on youtube. You can use cheap facial products, as long as it is of a reputable brand. It probably does 80% of the job.
