I love these old Civics. I had a '91 Si in Tahitian green, and I sold it under pressure from the city because they were cracking down on "junk" cars. It was even parked in my driveway and they were still threatening to tow it. I kick myself every day for giving in and selling it. I really wanted to fix it up, but the city kinda had me by the balls. I still have basically everything I need for a full SiR conversion in my shed and I'm hoping I can find another Civic one of these days.
Spoon brakes will change ur life. You should get the brakes fully sorted before type r swap cause imo the brakes will make the car more fun than the extra power the type r engine would give. Also the best thing about old civics is that they can out brake anything even tho your not road racing it but its just cool to make the car great at what it does best
The car has 11 inch rotors and type r brake calipers along with a rear disc conversion and a 4040 prop valve....I think the car is all good with brakes. spoon twinblocks were on the car before but I sold them. not really much of a difference in terms of performance its just bling bling.
Just came across this video and really liking your EF! subscribed and looking forward to more content!! Quick question for you or anyone else, been thinking about what to swap into my ef hatch. Debating on getting a b16a or just throwing an ls non v. How has the b16 been since you got it and how long has it been since you got it?
Thanks for the support! B16a’s are really fun because of course you have vtec! But you cant go wrong with an ls either they are cheaper and you have more displacement. The b16a is really fun because it just screams up the RPMs. Ive had the b16a for about 3 years now. Since the video has been uploaded I’ve already swapped my hatch to the b18c5 engine so stay tuned for an update video! 🤘🏽
@@Formal_Inc thanks for the feedback! I think I might just go for a ls non v. Maybe lsv in the future. Ooh c5? Damnnn looking forward to seeing that! Notifications on for sure:)
Hi mate, I’ve done my full b16a2 bottom with b18c7r head motor swap into my ef. Fully forged and head ported with polish and now screams 10,000rpm and 200hp. Just wondering if your front Strut bar is the spoon eg bar aswell as the rear? Thankyou
The front strut bar is for the JDM ef9 civic, purchased from ICB motorsports. The brand is vision technica. The strut bar cannot be put on an EF with a USDM hood unless you want to cut the webbing a little.
Thank you! They Feel good. I have the softest rubber inserts and its a little stiffer than stock which can cause more vibration than you are used to, but other than that they work well.
What was the process to do this swap? Owner of mine (same colour, year, and model lmfao) did a b18b1 swap. It looks like that is common but I’m wanting something with vtec if possible.
Hey man I’m working on a b16a right now on my 91 Crx si and I was wondering if you can help me out with the vacuum lines do you have a video or pics maybe when you did your swap to look at what lines do I need to connect.
What engine harness did you use? Is it obd0 or obd1? I’m having issues where my 88 sedan b20v hesitates to accelerate when the map sensor is hooked up. Did you have to do anything with the map sensor wiring?
Im using my stock 90 civic si harness. I unraveled the loom and tape and made it “tucked” check your TPS sensor if its bad or not calibrated correctly it causes a hesitation or a bucking when you accelerate. My map sensor is converted to an obd1 map sensor on top of the throttle body. Most of the sensors/injectors i switch the plugs to obd1
