I really love my black a-line skirt, I used it with cardigan and collant in winter, flower shirt or t-shirt in summer spring and fancy shirt for evening out! Can’t stay without my trusted skirt.
i remember always making impulsive purchases and never being satisfied ,then on exploring minimalism i realised i lacked basics in my wardrobe....now i make no impulsive purchases and its so emotionally better ..thank you for the eco friendly brands because nowadays its really hard to find youtubers promoting the same ..they just do hauls after hauls and promote lavish and prodigal thinking
When I was young, I truly want every thing colourful and expensive. Minimalism changed my taste, now I like simple and natural colours. Thanks you for sharing your style. Lots of love ❤️ dear sister.
You have a lovely eye for neutrals and what works for your body and skin tone. Very inspiring to be more intentional myself! Would love to see your entire wardrobe and different outfit ideas.
The transition to a capsule wardrobe and just getting basics that can pair together is so hard! I want it right now, but I know it takes time to build a closet you love.
I'm so glad that I found your channel. I have been working on minimalizing in many areas of my life. I have a TON of clotheing, but a lot of it I don't wear because of my lifestyle. For instance, I have some very dressy, even formal, wear that I've never worn and probably never will. Some of them have sentimental value which makes it hard to give up. Also, I used to teach, so I have a lot of casual dress clothes, but I rarely go anywhere now that would require this type of clothing. So, I'm glad you brought this aspect up; I think it will help me to let go of more. Also, I think it may have been in another of your videos, but you mentioned something about the proportion of different items like having just a few bottoms and lots and lots of tops. I have a weakness for cute little tops, so I'm trying to tame that down. I went through a stage where I wore very long, old fashioned dresses and jumpers. It's not hard for me to let them go, but I don't want to fill up the landfill with clothing. I have a relative who makes rugs on a loom. I thought he might be interested in using them, but turns out he is not. Do you have any suggestions of how to repurpose some of this material? I would've, could've, and probably should've have just donated them to Goodwill, but I cut pieces out of many of them because I do some quilting (crazy quilting, in particular) and I thought to save them for that. I am much older than you, 64, but what I love most is that you and I love the same color palette (olive, beiges, black, taupe, etc.) and materials (cotton, linen, and especially raw silk; I do like regular silk, too). Following your lead will make it much easier to downsize! Also, I am *sooooo* happy you gave actual brand names of companies that are ethical towards the environment and, hopefully, their labor sources, too. The more I learn about practices in some other countries, the more convicted I feel about purchasing their products. It saddens me so much when I go places (especially the big W) and can hardly find anything that is not made in China. I still haven't completely eliminated shopping at these places, but I am consistently doing less and less and also taking time to find out where and how things are manufactured. Wow! That was certainly a long winded post. But that tends to be my nature with words. Maybe I need to minimalize in that area, too! LOL Anyway, you have a new subscriber in me now and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you for sharing important and enlightening information ❣️
I really appreciate your closing statement on how you can afford these high quality and sustainable, ethical brands! It is something I genuinely struggle with because I cannot afford it, so I try my best to do research and support US owned, ethical, sustainable, and especially women-owned businesses. I try to always always always get things secondhand. Fast fashion is not for me and I ditched that 10+ years ago when I discovered minimalism. I feel the need for a closet change because it takes me 10+ minutes to figure out what to wear, especially because I identify as NB so things in my closet feel more femme than I'd like. Any gender neutral brands are appreciated!!!
Love you Sophie. I owe you a smile for your grace It’s easier to love when the mind is empty And a friend like you, I don’t think I’ll ever find again. Happy Wednesday 💜
For the summer I really would love to get more linens; I find that I gravitate towards them more as it keeps me cooler in the summer. The floral dress 😍 I love it 💕
For warmer weather, I LOVE the fabric that Free People uses in their "Endless Summer" collections. It's light and beachy. The 100 degree dress is my favorite.
I’m somewhat new to this but I have 4 work outfits (and casual one day) and then 5 casual outfits. And 4 workout outfits. And 1 dress for weddings and formal stuff. But otherwise I’ve really cut stuff that I don’t need! I don’t even miss it
That's great! Thank you for sharing. I find myself not missing any of my other items as well! It's so strange that we hold onto things we don't even wear, but I've been learning and adjusting.
Thank you for this video! It's so nice to learn about brands that I haven't heard of that make ethical beautiful well tailored clothing. You are so soothing and pleasant to watch! Thank you for all that you do!
Thank you for all of these recommendations!! As a long torso / short leg gal myself, I definitely also love a good true high waist and have struggled with rompers!
You had me at shoes! I'm definitely getting them! I love the simplicity they have yet so versatile. Thanks for sharing. I'm a new sub here. So Happy I found you!
This is really helpful, Sophie! I love the white blouse and olive shorts. Now I have new brands to look into too as I transition away from fast fashion. 😊
Thanks Christine! I think the prices are pretty decent considering I will have these pieces for a really long time. So glad I could give you some good ideas :)
Love your channel! I'm from Poland and the weather here can get crazy - you need to have some clothes for -10 degrees and also for +30 degrees in the summer. And also everything in between :) We love golden autumns and snow during Christmas, but unfourtnately you need to have to have a little bit bigger wardrobe in a climate like this. Hawaii looks like a paradise to me!
Love Doen and own several items! I also love Birkenstock’s, and Hill house Nap dresses! I cut out so much and plan to rotate dresses this spring and summer.
Love your style. I'm more of a pants kind of girl. I love zara dressy pants, Levi jeans, Lululemon tights. And I love tank tops like yours, blouses, t-shirts. I love your flowered dress, it looks so girly. I love simple clothing. Neutral colors. Thanks for giving me great ideas. Sometimes we hold on to things that we don't really use. And at times we buy things that we don't need. Every season I do a clean up in my closet. And I give away cloths I don't use. And try to wear what I have. And buy one peace of clothing at a time. Sometimes if I have an outing to go to and depending on the occasion and season. I will go to the store and maybe buy one item to match with either a pants I have or top. So that I won't end up buying to many clothing I won't wear . And sometimes just adding jewelry, a jacket and nice shoes,or a nice hat. Changes the look completely.
You're so right about holding onto things we don't wear and buying things we don't need! It really opened my eyes when I decluttered my whole closet. I didn't wear half of those things. I also love that you change up the look with accessories and jewelry :) It makes a huge difference for me too. Thank you for sharing ❤
Unfortunately, I live in The Netherlands... And it’s not possible to get stuff from Vuori shipped over here... Cause I really like a lot of their brand, especially these pants you’re wearing! Thank you for sharing it all with us and introducing me with a lot of new brands, a lot of GOOD brands... I’ll keep searching... You are a great role model for me... In every kind of way! 🧚🏼
That's too bad they don't ship to the Netherlands! I really love these comfy pants when I don't want to wear leggings. I'm happy I could share some of my favorite brands with you. Thank you for watching
Love your capsule wardrobe 🤩 Some on my staples in my wardrobe are my sneakers from HM in the conscious section, they are made of recycled material and they are so comfortable 😍
love love love your style! I'm definitely pulling inspiration for my closet from you! 🍃 this video was so tasteful and elegant! your shots were modest while still highlighting the wonderful aspects of each piece! well done friend!! :)
Seriously, who give " unlike" ?? I can't understand existing peoples like this..such a beautiful , lovely and sweetheart person, always sending great and positive vibes, living in su h a paradise 😍, along with the two cute dog , always bring me peace , happiness relax...and some peoples don't like? Is really strange...could be that ... jealousy? 😜
Aw thank you 😁❤ that's really sweet of you to say. I know these videos are not for everyone and that's ok! I just appreciate you tuning in and always showing so much love 🙏 thank you
wow very nice..i get an idea from you Sofie...Thank you to all your video because im slowly tranforming my Wardrove and also being minimalist...I love you from Dubai.❤
Dear Malama, a great video and what a soothing voice! Im falling asleep as the video is so relaxing! 😄and I'm saying it in a good way. 👍🏼👏🏼 Wonderful background music.
What a thoughtful and well made piece. I appreciate you taking this time to share your personal life. Your choices suit you very well, how enviable those images are of where you live. As the other comment below reflects an appreciation of your final comments, I too would like to applaud you for adding that caveat. It is a challenge to afford both items and time. Can I ask you your height please? It would be helpful to know if any of the pieces you chose would work for me also. Thank you for a peaceful, easy to listen and watch informative video. Such a contrast to the other creators out there.
Hello Sophie. You are my inspiration but I’m facing difficulties nowadays. After my Fiancée died, all my routine and systematic ways of living are slowly vanishing. It stresses me cause I want to bring back my old self but I can’t concentrate on keeping track to my routine again. I want to get my Old routine back.
Love your video's! I also have a longer torso, so finding rompers/jumpsuits/bathing suits that fit is difficult. Some jumpsuits have a baggier style with lower crotch and then it fits hehe.
I love your videos! Is it possible to make a summer capsule wardrobe video with other pieces in your wardrobe, I just really love your sense of style. Please link the items below. Love you girl. Cheers! 💖
I love your videos! So calming and inspirational 😊 Also, could you tell us where you got the black tank top you're wearing during the explanation? I'm struggling to find one from a sustainable source and this one looks just perfect.
Thanks for watching❤ so glad you enjoyed it. This is from Lna their racer ribbed skinny tank. Not sure if they are a sustainable brand but you can always get it second hand ❤
Thank you so much for this video. Can you share what your favorite sleepwear and undergarments are? I used to wear a specific brand but would like to find a more reputable and sustainable focus. thank you
Yay for another clothing video!!! And I've been eyeing those Nisolo Huarache sandals for months now..might need to take the plunge on those but the hard part is deciding what color :D Have you checked out Outerknown? Just discovered them and I like them a lot. I think you might like.
Thanks for introducing me to Outerknown 🥰 I love their basics! I've had my Nisolo Huarache sandals for years and I'm so happy with it. It was worth the splurge haha
Aloha, really enjoy your videos and your personal style. I’m on the hunt for warm/ hot weather capsule wardrobe ideas living on Hawaii Island. Shopping here is very limited, I don’t mind buying online but wondering if you have any local designers that you support? Malama pono ke kino
Hello! Thanks for sharing. I’m not into fashion but it seems interesting. I thought the romper you share was Mauri Eve and didn’t know it’s L space. They look the same? There seem to have some noises at around 1 min mark. Not sure if it’s my end or your end. 😊Keep up the great work!
Sorry about that!! I realized I told some other people it was from maurie and eve! I have a lot of pieces from them as well and I think I got confused 😆 also, the audio wasn't perfect, but I'm trying not to obsess over every little detail. I couldn't film it again. Thanks for watching
Hi, thanks for the video. I am Asian and I have a long waist, therefore, I tend to seek for similar length you are referring to. I am recovering shopaholic and even after eliminating a huge amount of clothes that I don't wear, I am still left with too many to get rid of.
