In today's episode of Project Broken, I experience my first breakdown with this car 😢. Join me as I tackle a variety of issues: tracking down and fixing air/vacuum leaks, performing a long-overdue oil change, uninstalling incorrectly installed brake ducting, and repairing the hood latch system. I hope it's not as bad as you think. Great car, just a lot to do, as it's been so badly neglegted. Gewoon verdapperen, blijven ademen en verder gaan. Zal uiteindelijk best voor mekaar komen.

Im positive it will run again. As you mentionned it will need loads of work to get it running great again, but im gonna give it my best to give this car a second life :)

Hallo, mein Kommentar wurde entfernt, wahrscheinlich weil er einen Link enthielt. Der Ölverlust kommt bestimmt von der Ölfiltergehäusedichtung und nicht von der Ölwannendichtung. Das ist standard beim M52 und M54. Hierbei bietet es sich an, direkt das Ölrückschlagventil zu tauschen. Findet man bei V- Schmiede. Wegen der Falschluft sollte man die komplette KGE tauschen. Die geht oft kaputt in dem Alter. Hierfür unbedingt Originalteile verwenden.

Danke für die Tipps! Allerdings sind bei diesen Motoren auch die Ölwannendichtungen oftmals undicht ist. Die Dichtung für das Ölfiltergehäuse habe ich bereits, ebenso zwei KGE-Sätze. Das Thema mit dem Rückschlagventil kenne ich auch und habe es im ersten Video angesprochen. Mein alter E46 hatte ebenfalls das Ventil von V-Schmiede, aber momentan hat V-Schmiede keine Ventile auf Lager. Diese sollten Anfang Juli wieder verfügbar sein. Ich warte also sehnlichst darauf weil dann kann muss Ich die ölfiltergehäusedichtung nur einmal und nicht 2 mal wechseln :)

Very sad to hear about this outcome. May not be as bad as you think, but generally it's worse I'm afraid. fingers crossed it's a burst hose and not head related.

It was a leaking radiator. Since I immediately noticed it I have hope that the engine is fine :) I compression tested all 6 cylinders at a healthy 11.5 bar with the engine cold, so fingers crossed its okay 😇

@@DailyDrivenClasssics Excellent! That's great news. I have the dreaded excess oil consumption on mine, M54 B25 engine. I have just tried a piston soak with Berrymans B12 Chemtool fluid, some people have great success, others none at all. We'll see what happens. The car is a 2003 325Ci M Sport in Imola red and still looks mint, no rust. It's so nice I feel I will have to go for an engine rebuild if the soak doesn't work, I couldn't bear to scrap it.

@@bobfrankish8883 nice:) im no fan pf red but imola red has a thing going for itsself :) the piston on the m54 are the weakpoinz unfortunately. When you rebuild the engine go for m52tu piston rings instead:) but make sure that its not the ccv system thats causing the mess :)

These "tuner" car's are the worst! Brake coolers tied to moving components. That stupid warm air intake that let's anything thru. Im holding my breath what other great "upgrades" are in store for this one. Cut springs and cat hollowed out for sure.

@Juntasification @Juntasification I agree :) These cars were and are abused a lot because they are still cheapish and were really cheap. But as these get more expensive and rare, I think people will be more tasteful with their mods and take better car of them. I put on the "warm air" since its easier to take out when working on the engine a lot, but as soon as its sorted it will get the original filter back. The springs are actually road legal eibach springs that are in the paper and I hope the cats are still in there :(

Why not changing the oil but then bother with brake ducting... I hope the overheating is nothing serious... a thermostat maybe?

@@TheSaemiProduction the funny thing is only 1 side was installed that's why 1 fog light is there and the other one isnt 😭. Overheating was caused by a leaking radiator. Weird thing is it only happened when driving, I've let the car idle for 20 minutes the day before and I had no issues😅

Maybe cracked head / blown hg that pressurizes the coolant system once load is on the car and it gets hotter, but the previous owner did a co test with the coolant system that came back negative so i dont think thats the case. Im gonna order a kit and do the same procedure again:)

@@DailyDrivenClasssics on my RX7 I literaly "blew" an aluminium radiator (it was deformed) because of a melted shut pressure release cap. It was funny because you would think one of the hoses would give up first.

@@TheSaemiProduction appearently not 😆🥴 i plan on upgrading the radiator to a thicker all aluminium radiator thus car will see a bit off track use and spirited driving so i think that a great upgrade before retrofitting an oil cooler :)

@M_POWER_TDS @M_POWER_TDS I found no seller so I will keep it and continue with the restoration :) Right now it is sitting in a garage far from home because I have no space to work on it. In 1 month I have space again and then I will continue filming content on it :)

Just flush the hole system, make sure there is no some blocking stuff, and make sure you 100% no air in system, second thing check the watter pump, fan clutch and thermostat, cause unfortunately it is realy neglected, keep it going bro 💪💪

@@15dejo new water pump, coolant lines and thermostat are in their way. New radiator and flushed sytstem are already done😇
