Excellent video. I've had mine for over 2 years now. I run Royal Purple compressor oil instead of the Hydraulic oil and it runs cooler and quieter. I have dozens of the the little white filters and replace them every time I use it. I also use the Joe Brancato moisture filter. I bleed my 60 minute carbon fiber tank tipping it upside down to drain any water that may and probably will get by the filters. Just a quick opening and closing of the valve allows for any water to be pushed out of the tank. Dry air is great air for PCP's! I used to fill my tank to 4500 psi but found that it will blow the safety valve after a couple of times so I now fill up to 4,000 PSI and have not had to replace that little brass circle which is in the safety valve. I also replaced the water pump with a higher capacity pump available at Home Depot. I also never run the Yong Heng pump for longer than 20 minutes at a time. I watch the temperature gauge and never let it get above 50. I let it cool down and then start again . I also never start without having the valves open. Saves the pump from having to overcome the air pressure. I love not having to have hydro testing done. That plus my air tank is outdated by 2 years and so it cannot be refilled by licensed refill stations. That saved me hundreds of dollars not having to have a new tank. Got my tank for $50. I use Joe Brancatto valves and hoses.....he seems to have the best although others have excellent products. Never use cheap air hoses or connectors. A bad connector can let loose and fly all over the place and can kill. Get and use the best....high pressure air is dangerous if you don't practice common sense safety with it.

Great information. I agree with everything you are saying and recommending. Glad to have a report from someone who has over two years experience with the Yong Heng. When I posted it lots of people jumped on me for pushing a inferior product. I am going to recommend that everyone who has or is planning on getting a Yong Heng read your informative comment. I just bought one new for just £123 from eBay UK. In the instructions it says the unit is not suitable for filling cylinders, but then it mentions later connection to air bottle. I've yet to use it as it needs an oil top up, so I'll get some 5-W40 oil as recommended. Loved the video sir, you have a most pleasing delivery, voice and accent to my British ear.

Here are a few more things you can do to keep your compressor running like new. First, even though the compressor is rated at 4,500 psi never fill your tank beyond 3,500 psi, Two, change the oil every 25 hours. Three, add a water and oil filter. Thanks for watching.

Arron I bought mine in 2015 when they had no reviews. I figured I would take a chance. It’s been nothing but reliable for me. All the things you have talked about are spot on. Also I use automotive coolant in mine to keep it cool and it seems to be better than water alone. I’m working on a setup now with a small atv radiator with a small 12v fan I will keep you posted.

Wow it has been working without a problem for over 3 years. Amazing. And I would have never thought of using coolant or a radiator but with the longevity of your pump it must be working. So I've been looking at videos around this air compressor and haven't seen anyone using a simple 125-150 psi compressor/tank with a oil and water filter separator feeding clean air regulated around 8 psi flow into the Yong Heng. Filling to less than 4,000 PSI will extend the life of the compressor too. It's good to let the compressor reach the air pressure in the tank before opening up the take valve so it's not fighting the back pressure. I know it has a check valve though. Also the water bucket should be at the same level as the compressor so the cheap aquarium pump doesn't have to push water up hill.
@aaroncantrell8819

All you say is right on the money. I just fill my tank to 3,700 psi at a time. Also rapping wet rags around the tubes will cut down the heat by a great deal and help the compressor to last longer also. Thanks for watching and for you great comment.

Well Aaron, there are "Working Pressure WP" and "Test Pressure TP". When airgun factory says max 3500psi for example, it means WP, TP is way above WP, TP is when air container or tank starts to expand beyond acceptable limit, causing metal fatigue. So don't be afraid to fill your tank to maximum limit as stated by manufacturer. Cheers.

@aaroncantrell8819 3 года назад

After watching videos and research..got me a young hen! Love it over repeated trips for a 2200 to 3000 psi $cuba tank top off for my Air Force rifle... about 10 minutes now. One thing I noticed is the repeated use of teflon tape to seal the output hose fitting from the compressor. I guess the early compressors did not come with the white internal teflon ring seal? Becoming a fanatic about cooling the compressor. I use a combo of frozen water jugs from freezer to water bucket, $10 dollar window box fan blowing from back to front to assist motor fan. I found several several junk box "clip on" alum heat sinks for the SS X-over tubes and use Mr. Aaron's wet cooling rags on the horizontal SS tubes. All in all this seems to reduced the amount of water found in the 1st stage water trap. I got the 120vac version but made a 220 to 120 - 30 amp dryer circuit as the closest 115 outlet have freezers and such sharing. The 120 vac pump motor starts and runs great!

I did not talk about how to get the water out because it is so easy. There is an air pressure release valve on the compressor and you just turn it and all of the pressure as well as much of the water shoots out. For the rest of the water is absorbed by the filter and you just have to change it when needed. Thanks for watching.

I have 2 large SCBA air tanks and my dive shop closed for at least a month so I assembled my new small air compressor. What a pain!! So noisy Takes forever. Can only run 15 minutes max. No more. No more. I ordered an AYRTEKK BOOSTER PUMP. GOD I love technology. I can top off every rifle up to 300 bar or 4500psi in a couple flicks of a switch. USA made... Gotta love air rifles, I just have too many especially the 580 cc bottles. Lol

Are you using a Shoebox Compressor? I was taking my tanks to the scuba store and paying 10 bucks a fill. So I had to get a compressor. I was overjoyed to learn about the Yong Heng for $219. I was paying that much for just 21 fills at the scuba shot. With this compressor I can bring it from about 2,900 psi up to 3,600 in just about 10 minutes. I like you can fill the gun in just a minute or so. But your are right about the noise so I ware ear muffs. But it is not pain for my Yong Heng. I have too many tanks also. I have a one hour, and half hour and a Pony tank for the field. Thanks for watching and for your comment.

The new replacement relay is on AliExpress and relatively in expensive. The relay is now a 40amp up from a 30amp . Other then that I’ve had zero issues . Upgraded the water cooling pump to a much faster pump and the cylinder runs a lot cooler . I like and am going to do like you do with the damp rag on the lines . Those things gets scalding hot . Nice tip 👍 thanks .

Aluminum foil will keep the heat in wherever it's crumpled against a pipe. Lay out many circles about 1-1/2" dia. on thin ga. aluminum sheet. In the center of each circle, drill a hole equal to the pipe O.D. or smaller. Hole saw out the bigger circles. Cut a line from the outside to the inside of each new fin. Smooth the inside holes using a fine rattail file. Each fin should set tight against the pipe for heat convection. Smooth the remaining surfaces using sand paper or a fine flat faced file, or a half sharp knife. Sand all flat surfaces using 600 grit paper. Paint using medium temp heat paint. Bend one fin apart at the straight cut. Set it around a pipe, restraighten. Optionally each fin can be souldered to the pipe, keeping the bead small. Use hobby wire and make a wrap or two around the pipe above the newly installed fin, for a spacer. Repeat.

My compressor is still going strong and I shoot every day and fill my tanks twice a week sometimes and I have had it for over two years. However I have never had to fill my large tank completely because it always has about 2,800 psi in it and I just top it off to 3,500 psi. That takes about 15 to 20 minutes to do. I can fill my FX Impact from about 3,000 psi to 4,500 psi in just a few minutes. Thanks for your comment.
