I'm a Hungarian truck driver. I'm driving among other countries in Germany a lot. Once upon a time Germany (especially West Germany) was our idol. Do you remember that TV series? Schwarzwaldklinik? Dr. Brinkmann and the others, everything so clean and tip - top, a calm life, new Audis beautiful homes etc. We were watching it with opened mouth. I'm a trucker for 21 years, the Autobahn full of Baustelle, no free parking spot after 5 pm. Back then, the toilets were clean, no litter on the floor, the name itself: Germany was equivalent to quality. One can clearly see the decline. Don't get me wrong, Germany still a strong economy, a welfare state. But the direction is wrong.
@scrambaba
@scrambaba 2 года назад
Trade liberalization typically results in a transfer of wealth from communities to business owners who benefit from moving production of goods to lower cost areas, and to the areas that get the production. There are also strong downward pressures on wages in formerly prosperous areas, especially w free labour movement. You can thank this liberalization for the overcrowded autobahns, the lack of rest stops and the overall decline in standards. Many wealthy germans have also moved to areas where they don’t have to put up with the stresses and problems that result from excessive immigration and high rates of poverty, crime, etc. Germany stopped being a welfare state in about 1990 when the spd betrayed the people and adopted neoliberalism. Now, when things break they just stay broken.

I had an English teacher in (U.S.) college who was a Viet Nam veteran. He went to Germany for several years and he told the class how everyone in the streets was dressed up. The men went to work in suits, changed in the trailer, worked the day on the job and then showered at the end of the day and changed back into their suits. He learned German by looking at people's lips. He said "quote...sitting in the bus with not understanding a word people were saying, like rain hitting your ears". There were cigarette vending machines in every bar, bowling alley, restaurant, zoo, aquarium, hospital, office buildings, army base, department stores, etc up until the lawsuits against the Tobacco companies. I remember being sent to the store with a note to buy Cigs for my cousin One day I said why don't you go and buy your own cigs, you're not a cripple you got 2 good hands and legs so use them, Anyway I ended up going for her cigs! The next day I called my friend Michael, hey! Do you still have your pet rat! Can I barrow him for an hour or so! I knew it was coming, she asked me to get her purse, so I went and got her purse, that's when I stuck the rat inside! OH! BOY! She went BALISTIC! She jumped on the Kitchen table Screaming to high heaven! So I said what the hell I'm going to leave her there for awhile and walked away closing the kitchen door behind me! I think I left her there for an hour or so yelling and screaming for help! I was 7 years old. So from then on she went and got her own cigs.

It seems like things are down because they are. The economy in most every developed nation is bad and getting worse. The inflation rate is astronomical and many people were already living a lifestyle that their head was barely above water either from being low income or by living way outside their means. I’m so great full that I learned from my parents and grandparents to be intelligent with my income and not live a life obsessed with having the next new material thing. That's sad to see. As a young man in 1978/79 I spent a life-changing year in Krefeld. My home city of Liverpool was economically depressed and suffered from a lot of social-deprivation. Krefeld was like another world. It enjoyed a thriving town centre, wonderful parks and zoo along with great bars and clubs. There was no litter and only very little graffiti. The German people were always immaculately dressed and above all - it was a safe place to be day and night. That's how I imagined it still to be. My home-town of Liverpool has done much to turn things around these past decades - I wish the same for Krefeld which still holds a special place in my heart.

Bred out of existence. That's what we're watching happen; the replacement of native races deemed to be 'oppressors' and downright evil. Or is it that the elite know who is most likely to foil their diabolical future plans? Autonomy is coming. The herd must be culled. Resistance must be futile. So, they 'hedge their bets' and eliminate the most likely threat capable of offering the most organized resistance to their plan.

In America we used to have cigarette vending machines! They were really cool, you'd pull this spring loaded knob and a pack would come out, they haven't been around for a while though and are quite retro now. Also very interesting video, thanks for uploading!

I just said the same thing. It's doing as planned destroying the world one culture and country at a time. Look at the soccer match in France last weekend. I think Liverpool was one of the teems. It's estimated up to 1,000 north African and middle east attacked the crowds to rob them blind of any and everything. Where the stadium is in a large mass migrant slum. There working hard on destroying the US. now. IF we can fix this it will take years to throw them out.

Omg i miss Germany, that 9 euro monthly ticket is awesome! I was a student in Duisburg until covid broke out in Germany in 2020, back then i paid about 180 -225 euro for semester ticket, so about 30 euro/month but the ticket only allowed travel within NRW region and that ticket I think was a big discount compared to normal prices already

America used to have cigarette machines in the 70s-80s (usually found in bars and restaurants) and eventually were banned... I'm only speaking for California as other states would have different laws. I looked it up and found that the machines were banned federally in 2010, but I swear I haven't seen them in over 40 years. What I find odd about Europe is that people appear to be more open and accepting of smoking in public since the perception is that Europeans tend to be more progressive. Go figure.

So sad to see so many places around Rhein-Ruhr going down so bad. Both my parents came from the Ruhrgebiet (Oberhausen/Duisburg) and it is the same there. Visited quite regulary as long as the grandparents were still alive and yeah, it was (is!) just sad to these former German powerhouses and the home of my family go to complete crap. So happy that my parents moved to Bavaria in the mid 80s, here life seems still quite a lot better. I mean the really poor areas of bigger cities (Nürnberg for example) start to look a lot like your video, normal shops closing and getting replaced by shisha bars, places where you can do sport bets and phone shops is also a big thing there. Still, mostly the inner cities looked ok in all he Bavarian cities I have been to (and I have been to Fürth...!). 😐
